I want to get 8 gauge speaker wire for my speakers and was wondering if it matter if I use "Power Wire"? Here is the link. KnuKoncepts Power Wire And if I want 5 feet i would really need to double it for positive and negative so it would come out to 10 feet in quantity, right? I drive a nissan maxima, and I need a system that will be the BEST I CAN GET for my car. I'm not really crazy for competition, I just want to be be heard from far away when i drive and make sure everyone in the block heres me when i stop at a traffic light/stop sign lol. So will a FI BTL 15 on sundown 2000 in a ported box be good for that purpose or something less expensive such as 2 alpine type r 12s or 2 kicker cvr 12s in a sealed box. I also plan to fiberglass my box and raamat the shit out of my car. Since I got back into car audio I have stayed away from the so called "Mainstream" brands when it came to my amplifiers and subwoofers. What sold me on the smaller companies was the customer service and the ability to talk to the owner/owners either through the forums, email or direct phone call. I think we all know what forum all these great companies are a part of.... :bigclap: What are the horror stories you have had with companies with poor customer service?

if i'm correct the better the RCA the better luck you have with not getting road noise right? so i know the best brands are monster, kicker, and RF. do you think kicker 09z series are worth the extra few dollars or should you just go with the cheap scorche RCA's?

pretty amp for sure, anywho just saw this guy on a private auction site for under $50 tested working, cosmetically it's almost 100%. I wouldn't use this amp myself, but would It be worth to resell and make a quick buck? only results I really saw for this amp for sale privately was a post on diy selling it for roughly $300, and everyone said post it on european ebay and you could get way more for it... is this amp really that damn nice? i know older diamond audio is nice, but over $300 for a used 4 channel 400watt amp?

Going for a two way set-up. I think I can make 8s fit, but it will be a pain in the ass in my little car, if its even necessary haha. But i do want strong midbass, and as for tweets I've always liked them ever so slightly to the aggressive side. I listen to a wide range of metal, from softer stuff to death metal like nile and suffocation. Also I like prog-rock as well as a bit of mainstream stuff too. Ok guys, I've had a amp now for a few weeks pushing an 18" AA Chaos Sub. The Amp says its 4000 watts but I'm pretty sure it's only pushing about 1000 watts at 2OHMS. It's a no name amp i got from a friend brand new for free, so I figure why not. I've been slamming it hard, but all of a sudden it shut off on me. The name and model Audio Tek AT-4000 The Fuses are all still good, but for the hell of it I put 3x 40amp fuses in that were brand new. No sound still. I unplugged and reconnected all the cables, no sound still. I did a simple shut the car off and on , no sound. I check my Power Fuse Going to the battery, it's good , still no sound. I got these a few days ago to replace a set of Infinity Reference components and they sound pretty dang good. Big Big Big improvement. The only problem I have is the output is way down compared to the 2 ohm rated Infinity, which ain't a bad thing because they were very harsh to my ears, but the Bostons are having a hard time keeping up with my sub bass with only 60 watts on them. I am sure they would love some more power and probably wake up and really shine. Details........ The Bostons are rated @ 3ohm and 125w rms and I have a Rockford Forgate 450.4 amp that puts out 60w RMS x 4 @ 2 ohm, 100w x 4 @ 2ohm, and 225w x 2 bridged @ 4ohm. Can someone please explain to me what would cause a crossover to "blow up", I had the music on 55/62 and was pretty screaming from the tweeters, and then all of a sudden a huge "pop" from the crossover, smoking, doesnt seem like it was the first time, when I first got my other side installed I noticed this fuzzy stuff all over it, but thouhgt nothing of it, same shit was over the crossover when it blew, im ssending them in for warrenty, but I want to know if its my fault at all, or the brand, CDT.
