Well, I Pmed jack frost the other night asking him about home audio. I don't know hardly anything about it other than Klipsch speakers are very good. I myself have klipsch 5.1's for my computer and my dad has about 6 klipsch speakers in the house. Well I was wanting to know what's good to buy for a 5.1 setup? I'm not really wanting a 2.1 setup just because I want full surround, I like how my dads setup sounds. but I know you guys are gonna love these pics, especially you jack. I didn't even know I all ready had heresy's!!!!! Here is my dad's receiver. It's a sony of somekind. this is a shot of the Cornwalls, these things sound amazing. here is proof here'…

I recently put a system in my regular cab Silverado, and i am wondering about where to start (general range) for crossover points. I have 2 sundown sd3 10s running off of an NVX1200.1 and a set of SSA Evil 6.5s and Tweeters running off of an NVX 800.4. It is running active off of a pioneer 80prs. Also, is there a general place to start as far as slopes go? 12db or 24db? I know every install is different and people have different tastes but im just looking for a decent place to start from.

So I just bought a 05 yukon with factory head unit and bose system and I ordered a kenwood kdc-x794 to replace headunit then pulled out old h/u and its got a couple plug ins for wire harness so I googled it and found out I needed the "gmos-04" adapter that cost around 100 bucks that is supposed to keep onstar ability and factory chimes, is there anyway I can bypass the gmos adapter to install the new h/u?

Dont think it worked, so go to http://s294.photobucket.com/albums/mm87/MV...=Portlength.jpg. The red line is the right way of calculating port length, right? When i calculate it, i get 18.5" total port length, but when the RE Enclosure calculator does it, it gets 19.625. It can't get the double baffle, so shouldn't the RE calculator come up with 17.75" of port length? I just want to make sure that i'm right or that i'm wrong, 'cause i dont see how it could be that far off.

Is there a way, such as a calculation, or some type of rule of thumb to determine what alternator, as well as how many batteries it will take to run a certain system? Are there any guidelines to determine these values? For example, lets say i have a 5000 watt system, can i plug that into an equation, or some sort of outline to determine what size alternator i would need, and how many batteries i would need? or if i wanted an 8000watt system, same thing.... Is there a rule, like for every 1000watts you need a certain amount of amps within a battery? I am not trying to figure anything out for myself, I am just askin for basic knowledge to see if there is an easy way to d…

1) so i don't think there is a meter in my town, nor has there ever been one. (i live in teh capital of Alaska, but the only way in and out of town is by plane or boat either way it's 2/6 hours outta here.) so for someone just starting in car audio like me and all of my friends. we have no idea what 140+ or i'm sure 130+ db sounds like.. how can you explain it to some noobs so we can get a guess as to what were hitting with our subs? 2) how do i know about what htz my music is hitting, i mainly listen to hip-hop/rnb/rap. a very even mix of all. and i was just readin in another thread that pretty much rap and really heavy bass songs are higher bass hits.. well how high? an…

Like 10 years awhile, it's good to be back here and poking around at everything thats going down. Putting a new system together in my truck and have a couple questions. I have the option to use 6x9 components in my front doors, are they worth it these days or should I just stick with 6.5's? Looks like RE Audio and Kicker make a few different 6x9 components, I would most likely go with the RE's if I went that route. The IA componets look enticing for the price as well. Does anyone have much experience with Double Cab Tacoma's and what can be stuffed behind the seat? I'd loved to be able to fit a Single ported 12" with space for the Amp / Crossovers. Thanks a head of …

Ok so water got in one of my tweeters and I need replacements, I'm looking for soft or silk dome tweeters that sound very smooth. I would like the to come with there own crossover. I'm not going active til a little later. They will be paired with crescendos new pwx 6.5 pa speaker. I'll prolly cross the pwx at 3000hz or wherever the crossover points are on the tweet possibly. Budget is 80 and down. They will be ran on a mb quart 125.4. There are so many choices but hardly any reviews can one of you point me in a good direction?

Not sure where this post would go but i'm sure the mods will move it if it's posted in the wrong area. Basically i'm looking for advice on the best setup I can get for a 98 pontiac grand prix gt four door. Amps, crossovers, subs/boxes, 6x9's, regulators, etc. I listen to every kind of music (besides country) so it's a bit harder to nail down my needs. Basically I want a system I can show off. One that during a show everyone around can here what's playing on my system (and feel it) loud and clear. But I want it to also sound good inside because what's the point if it is very loud and clear outside but distorted inside. So as much power as I can squeeze into this car. Als…

so i really don't know how to explain what i need.. basically i need basic help tuning my SAE 1000D amp to get the most out of my Q. i know this is a pretty broad question and has been answered before, but i guess i'd rather just have specific help for me rather then reading up on other people's help. i've had the set up for a couple months now, probably early/mid november, had a "custom made" box from my local audio dealer. i don't doubt that they made it, i just doubt theres anything really fancy about it. and it sounds great as it is, but i really think that it can hit alotttttt harder then it is right now. atleast judging by what people are saying on the forums it see…

I have a Pioneer DEH-P3900MP and I gave it to my bro who installed it in his 05 Hyundai Sonota and when he was wiring it up he use pliers to cut all the cables off the stock wiring harness and he said that all the wires touched for a second when he cut all the wires so it made a spark, but after he got it all wired up it was working. He then screwed it in and put everything back together and the HU wouldn't play any sounds even though it was powered on and the volume was all the way up. He replaced the Audio and Clock fuses with new ones and there is still no sound. What could be the problem for why there is no sound?

I current own a 15” Fi Q and am in the process of upgrading to a 15” IA Death Penalty. Need some info (help) on how to deaden my truck, what should I used, what areas to deaden and the cost of materials. I drive a 2000 Dodge Dakota so for the most part, am just thinking that I may only need to deaden the back panel (the rear is gutted), sides, doors and possible the roof (if it’s absolutely necessary). I saw a guy on here with 2 18s in a dakota but didn’t find him while searching, hoping he can chime in. Any input would be great. Thanks
