hey everyone, love the site, i mostly lurk around and there's some really good info on here. well anyway on to my question, im looking to buy some tweeters to replace my old mb quart tweeters. would like them to blend in with my sound stage now and keep up when i upgrade it too, currently im running a 6" whip audio mid on each door and 2 for rear fill, itll soon be 2 on each door and 2 8"s and the 2 6"s for rear fill when im done with the pods.im not looking to spend more than 50-60 dollars, but if i have too i will lol. i mostly listen to reaggeton, rap and hip hop and sometimes some r&b. i would love to place them where i had my old tweeters, heres a pic.... thanks…

Hey guys i have a 225 amp Excessive Amperage alt, 2 runs of 0 gauge and 4 yellowtops. My voltage never reaches higher than 13.6 and idle at like 13.4 with the music turned down. What could be my issue? also im running 6k rms and dom at iraggi said he can build me a bracket to run dual alts. I would throw my stock alt back in there maybe add one more yellow top and do one more run of wiring. Would this help me out alot? Or do you think if if fix my other issues i should be ok, thanks

I was gonna post this in the off topic section, but it's slightly audio related, and i just wanted to ask because it seems ridiculous. The RF 40001bd amp is supposed to be 4k rms at 1ohm, pretty sexy, whatever. If i recall it has ONE set of 1/0ga power and ground terminals. With a fuse rating of 500amps, and knowing that 1/0ga wire has a capacity of ~300amps doesn't that mean they failed? Off the top of my head, the Sundown 4500D has dual power and ground, and for what seems like a good reason. The only solution to this problem i see is to have your amp ridiculously close to your rear battery bank. Just me rambling on, thanks for comments.

I just want to get this straight, the 1/0 run from my amp to battery, i would hook into the 1/0 slot in something like THIS, and then connect that to the actual battery terminal.. right? Also, why does it say its a Pos/Neg battery clamp? (Doesnt it matter which side of the battery you hook it to?) sorry for the pure newbness and Thanks to everyone that replies haha

Ok... so when I started this build, it was on a budget and kinda rushed along. My hearing isn't that great anymore after years of drumming in a metal band, so I didn't want to go too far. My current setup is powered by a Kenwood amp pushing 40x4 and 300x1 at 4ohm. I really love it....but since installing these 2 Dcons, my front stage just ain't hangin. Let me say.... I can't imagine some of these setups u guys have. These 2 Dcons are bangin on only 300. Plenty for me, with my hearing loss and all. I'm running Polk db651's front and rear, with Kicker 4" in the dash off the head unit. Think going the bridged route at 100x2 would be better, and lose the rears...since they ba…

Probably won't happen till I'm settled into school, but since I get such good accommodation thru pioneer and kicker at work I'm thinking.... Kicker sx1250.1 kicker sx700.4 and the sxrc remote those two are for sure... now the next part is iffy... I either wanna do 4 l7 8"s(just to have something different) or I'm going to do 2 l7 12"s... then again I get really good deals on infinity's high end woofers too... as for a headunit probably a p8mp or p770mp. think i would be under powering the 8"s to much with the 1250.1?

Hi all. I had a friend of mine ask me to do a system for her. She wants to use my 2 Sundown Audio SD1-v.2 subwoofers and my Sundown Audio 100.2 to power them. Her car is a 2009 Ford Fusion, which leads me to my issue. It has Microsoft Sync, and she would like to retain the stock head unit if possible. I know the only way to do this it to use a LOC, but I've never used one, as I always upgrade the HU. I have read that if you use one the factory system will turn down the bass automatically to protect the other speakers, thus making the subwoofers not serve their full purpose. Is this true? Would it be a waste to use a LOC? Am I best off convincing her to spend money…

I am in the process of gathering pieces to form a more SQ based setup, and would like to eliminate having to flip through cd's all the time. With high capacity portable hard drives out there running off just usb power (wd my passport, for example) and lossless .WAV files it would seem like an ideal solution is available. However, I cannot seem to find a head unit geared towards SQ that has unlimited usb recognition. My google searches come up with useless info. I wonder if anyone here knows of or has experience with such a beast. I was leaning towards the deh-p800prs (man is it sexy) until I read elsewhere that it only has like 4gb recognition(with a separate adapter…

Got a question about running power cables thru my 2011 Chevy Tahoe I have seen people run their cables either thru the firewall or under the truck using flexible conduit. Which is preferable? Or is that depending on the amount of runs you are doing. I am planning on 2 runs of both positive and negative from a D3400 under the hood to a D3100 in the rear running a Crescendo BC5500D for 2 ZCON 15’s. If it is just a matter of preference then my question is answered, but if there are other issues to consider then any input would be greatly appreciated. I won’t start my build for about another month or so (in Afghanistan) so I have just been pouring over the net and this forum …

I will be running a sundown 1500 and a 2 channel (not sure which one yet) off a stock alternator and a powermaster d1200. I already have 4 gauge ran from a previous instal with 80a inline fuse. 1) Can I just leave the existing 4 gauge and use that for the 2 channel and just run an additional fused 1/0 for the Sundown or is there an easier way to go about this? 2)Is it ok to run two fused power wires off the same battery? 3) If I have to get a distribution block, which one should I get? I heard Knukonceptz' are hard to work with. I already have a kicker 1/0 kit on the way but I don't think the distribution block in the kit will fit my needs. Thanks guys

It's been said many times that it's not as useful to add more power, as to have a more efficient enclosure, or that a single woofer in a correctly designed enclosure is generally better off than two or more in less than adequate boxes; I took some measurements of my truck, and it looks like I have plenty of room for a pair of 18's. But will the difference between one and two woofers be worth the extra costs? I'm looking to get loud, and sound fairly good doing it, however I cannot afford high power woofers, especially until I can get larger alt in. My budget for woofers is <$400 each, but I have to determine what i'll be getting before I can make a choice for an amp. I…

Sub: Fi BL 18 with flatwind and p chamfer Amp: Hifonics bxi2006d (again, its not sundown or anything, but it should get the job done for now and even if it is overrated, i think 1800 should push a bl just fine. Wiring: Knuconcepts.. look Not included in the kit are RCAs and the speaker wire. Also should i get 10 or 12 gauage, and what do i need to fit it into the terminal on the sub? Enclosure: 6^3ft after all displacement and port, and tuned to 34.4xxx hz. I guess what i'm looking for is the OK from you guys. What do you think? I think im ready but im just making sure.. please comment on the question about 10 or 12 gauge speaker wire and how to fit it into the termina…

So far i am looking at the kenwood KDC-mp242 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17549_...KDC-MP242.html# It has tuning and the rear control. My vehicle has a 6 3/8" mounting depth for the h/u, so anything over than is a no go. My paximum price range is around $100 - $120. Feel free to post your own experiences with different brands and components.

well i found a couple different trucks around here, and i found one that i really like. its a 1989 s-10 standard cab, 4cyl, 5spd. i think there was one little ding on the hood, clear coat was faded off, but the actual color is for the most part uniform all around. its got a topper on it, vinyl bench seat that from when i looked at it, didnt look ripped or anything, dash i didnt see cracks or anything from heat. he's asking $800 but i have $700 cash to offer him, im waiting for him to call me since he's been busy since i drove it (didnt offer him anything yet but he said he wont sell the truck since i want it) its a very nice truck for an 89, drives nice (no power steering…
