When the sub is on the port side, does it make a difference if the sub is closer to the port or farther away? if this question doesnt make sense just tell me and ill try to explain it a little differently.

Hey all... After a few months of running my ID comps off of a bridged 4CH amp (150wRMS) dialed down to about 100wRMS, I got a wild hair up my ass and decided to run them off of one channel each. The output was about the same but the clarity is so much better! My Q's are still drowning out the highs though so I'm looking into multiple speakers... I have my 6.5"s in custom door pods, and the tweets in the sail panels. I was going to put two Kenwood 5.25"s that I have in the rear sails (run off HU), maybe purchase a set of 4" speakers for the upper front doors(run off HU), which would leave me with an extra two channels on the Infinity to slap onto another set of co-ax speak…

Hi there, curious about connecting a mono amp / 2x10" subwoofer setup. My subwoofer setup is pretty cheap, I know, but I just wanna make sure I do it right. The subs are Pioneer TS-W251R 10" 4 Ohm: Output Power (4 Ohm, <=1% THD) 60 Watts x 2 Output Power (4 Ohm Bridged, <=1% THD) 150 Watts x 1 Output Power (2 Ohm, <=1% THD) 75 Watts x 2 The amp is Infinity Reference 1300a: 200 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (300 watts RMS at 2 ohms) So obviously, I have two pairs of subwoofer terminals in the back of my enclosure, and I have two pairs of terminals on the amp itself. Should I just plug subwoofer 1 into speaker terminal 1 on the amp, and subwoofer 2 into terminal 2 on the…

holy moses indeed...after scouring google for comments on this car audio e-tailer I too am feeling angst!!! Granted any comment of e-tailer business experiences like anything else must be taken with a grain of salt...particularily when you take into account that 1 negative experience will reach mythic proportions as opposed to a good buying experience which probably results in no or at best, few good praise posts. E.g loyalists vs. loses. WIth that said...this Woofersetc.. was accused by some buyers as either a 'front' or some business that really doesnt even exist!! So...appparently the owner is very rude and brash, he returns e-mails on a 'do-i-feel-like-it-or-not…

I was going to listen to my system the other day, and i turned it on when it was just about to hit it kinda shut off and started making a weird noise. Kinda high pitched noise. I took the sub out and brought to another car an ran it free air so that wasn't it. Same with the amp. I replaced the auxiliary wires and it started to work on a low level. so i turned it up just a little bit. Like up 2. Hooked it back up.(keep in mind this is back in my car running free air to see if its going to work before i put it all back together) and then it sparked and stopped working again. I have a 18" fi Bl, It was hooked up to my buddies sundown saz-1500d, and my Pioneer avh5000dvd head…

So I have had my SSD hooked up on my zx750 now for about 3 months and I love it to death it sounds amazing and all the kids up at the high school chit bricks when they hear it. I'm guessing I'm hitting in the low 30's on TL. AND I FINALLY FIXED THE RATTLING!!! But I want a bit more, it would cost around $1000 dollars if I sell my SSD&amp for $500. I'm thinking cut out the upper trunk railings so I can fit a 5cuft box in my trunk instead of a 3.5cuft box (1) Fi BTL 15 fully loaded (1) 2k-2500rms amp (possibly sundown2000 when it comes out) 1 run of 0 gauge, 8 gauge speaker wire And obviously some batteries, not too sure on which ones and how many I'm going to need(sugg…

So i know its nothing compared to most of you, but it's not the average system at my highschool. I did almost all of it but build the box myself This is what I got, i will post pictures tomorrow. Alpine Digital Media Receiver 1x Ascendant Audio 18" Chaos 1x JL Audio Slash 1000/1v2 1 4 Gauge Run Stinger Next comes the component speakers and such, but it sure does slam in my durango. The headunit i just put in today, and it really makes a difference with my door speakers, as well as the control i have over the sub now. Can't believe i ever chose to keep the stock head unit in. kevin

Hi, I have cheaper stuff than most of you guys wipe your butt with. Anyways, I have a 2x10" sub with Pioneer speakers that say they handle 50-120w RMS (I know I know, don't laugh) and a 2-channel Pioneer GM-3300t amp that claims the following: Output Power (4 Ohm, <=1% THD) 60 Watts x 2 Output Power (4 Ohm Bridged, <=1% THD) 150 Watts x 1 Output Power (2 Ohm, <=1% THD) 75 Watts x 2 Now, since I am buying a pair of front component speakers, I wanted to hook them up to an amp. The question is whether or not I should use my current amp for the component speakers, or keep the cheapo amp with the sub and buy a new amp for the component speakers. BTW, the subwoofer…

  14. More and more lately I see more and more ROE members, most that are 15-21 that have probably never owned used or seen halfway decent equipment giving advice on which sub is better or amp, box etc. And the people asking these questions are honestly looking for an honest answer from someone knowledgeable that has either use seen or has worked with "x" product. I just see WAY too much this sub sucks or this is better when they've probable never heard seen or used any.. sorry to rant just my 2 cents... Joe...

I was searching the topics around here looking for glassing the interior of a sub box, and didn't find too much. My question is. My sub calls for 1 inch MDF but my installer says he will use 3/4 and glass the inside to "keep the weight down". Do I have anything to worry about as far as flexing and structual integrity? I want to do a sealed enclosure about 1.6cu.ft. Are there any other suggestins for a sealed box? I want to do it right the first time as my funds are a lil limited. Hey thanx guys!!

ok well here it goes i had to 2 15"s rockford fosgate punk rfp3415 or something like that hooked up to my 1600 watt amp, it was bridged so....that wasnt looking good after a day 1 sub blew, and the next one did the next day. i didnt bridge them some guy told me to do it to get more power to the subs even though there 400 watts each. so now do some new subs i was looking at fi subs and they look like the right ones for me. http://www.adelcom.net/DieselAudio-NS-1600-Page.htm that is my amp that my brother gave me. i'm kinda thinking thats why its to much power through 1 channel. so my question is the amp that i have now is it good to power these subs and yes im getting 2 …

At what frequency does a tone go from unidirectional to omnidirectional? Im considering doing a wall build. I could fit 2 -12" or possibly 4-10" midbass pa speakers behind the seats to use strictly for midbass to keep up with the subs and the 4 pairs of 6.5's I have in my front doors. I know this isnt the best way (sq wise) to go about doing it but i really love strong midbass and it has been something i have been lacking for quite some time now.

  23. Ok, First off, I am no genius at picking the stuff I want in my car, but I am pretty good with electronics as I majored in physics, and can beat my way around the bush putting it in a car. I really just want something that sounds great as a final product. My question to the community here! Q: I have an 06 Dodge Durango SLT (just the simple , no GPS or anything special). I want to upgrade the chitty speakers all the way around, but I'm not sure what to buy. Crutchfield is saying I can't buy component speakers because tweeters need to be placed seperately, which I understand, yet I think there is tweaters just under the front window. No tweeters in the back though I'm pre…
