Hey I was wondering if anyone here had made a enclosure or kick panels with fiberglass and had luck with it. I don't really know where to start or what works and what dosen't. I want to build a box for a sub or maybe some kick panels because Im getting borded with just plain boxes and want to build something unique. What do I need to buy and where can I get the materials? Are there any web sites that would help me? What do you use to cover the fiberglass after you lay it? Is it just plain bondo? I have never used fiber glass before, but I know my way around a shop just want to expand my horizons. Any info would help a lot.

I just picked up a 86 oldsmobile cutlass. (should be delivered to my house on sunday may 18) I would like to use the amps I have laying around to save money- they are Phoenix gold Tantrum 250.2 and a Phoenix gold Tantrum 400.4 I listen to everything from rock to rap ,classical, country you name it I listen to it. I was thinking of a 2 way active front stage plus infinite baffle sub stage. I think going with a hu that is 2 way compatible would be my best bet ( suggestions ) under $200?? Ideas for the front speakers under $150 (from what I can see kickpanel limited - 8" max 4.5" depth midbass/midrange -tweeter?) run off 400.4 tantrum 50 x 4 @ 4 ohm 100 x 4 @ 2ohm substag…

  4. Hello once again, last time I wrote here I was debating on getting 2 10's, and a amp looking to spend maybe about $500 to $600, then I stopped chasing a dream that was a bit out of my grasps... I've always loved car audio, my friend "Hove" who is a member here who is the one who got me into all this mess lol, has had a system since jr high school. So needless to say, I'd like to introduce myself, and say the last time I spoke here I planned on limiting myself to overstock mass production MTX crap with a box and amp built into it, lol. Some how my buddy "Hove" talked me into getting something else... So heres what i ordered... I ordered: Sundown Audio SAZ-1000D FI BL 15" i…

My buddy is a memeber of these forums and just spend ashit load of money on some FI audio and he refered me, he knew of my intentions of buying a speaker + amp package from soniceletronix just to get some bump in my trunk now, untill i can save up to get the high end beautiful quality, i just cant wait need sounds now lol... Heres my sisutation, I've got 400-500 dollers to spend on a speaker/s (2 perf, but 1 good one is good) 12, or 10 if i cant get my hands on a good enough amp for the price range... I've got a 2007 Chevy Impala, and its got a opening behind the seats where it will allow very nice flow from the trunk into the sitting a…

In building my new HT mains, I wanted another major change, so I said to hell with it... I wanted a new reciever, so guess what? I pissed away a small fortune!!! Oooo, sexy!!! With a Rava, this is a huge unit. It is a Pioneer Elite VXS-45TX. Lemme tell you, this is a bad a$$ SOB. It weighs more than a Brahma, and I think it even sounds better . It is so deep and so tall I had to relocate the reciever to the top shelf of the rack. For more pics, look at the "elite45" labled pics Here. I know there are some pics of the HT cabinets and maybe some of the wood as well on that page, if you chose to look. But as stated, the pics that begin with "Elite45" are the reciever un…

My insurance is covering my truck and a tiny bit extra, so with the next vehicle, since I know it'll kill me if I don't ask, which is more audio friendly? (since the price differences on them locally are pretty much negligible, they all fall around $2500-3k) Jeep Grand Cherokee (1995-2003) Explorer Sport (1995-2003) or even another Blazer/Jimmy/Bravada (1996-2004) I'm only really picky about having 4x4; everything else, kinda blurs together to me. *The trucks i'm comparing are the ones that were left on the list after accounting for mechanical issues being taken care of; so no, I got my priorities in order

Hi guys this post may be long and I apologize in advance. First off I am by no means wealthy in any sort of the word. I currently own a 97 Buick LeSabre (240,000mi on it) so a new car will soon be required. I want my car to suit my audio setup more that the other way around. I want to keep the following attributes in play with the decision. 1.space / big trunk (for multiple 15's or more) 2.interior that is "easier" to modify. I would be willing to tear rear seats out to mount amps and batteries there. 3. Accessabily so it is not such a pain to run multiply runs of 1/0 cable from front to rear. (Not that big a deal) 4. "Acoustics" as is like some paper thin doors that r…

Denim will be excited I've posted this I've got a 03 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab now, and my Explorer is being driven by my Dad. It's a long story as to why that is, if you care to know PM me. Anyway, I had 2 RE8's in a custom ported box in my X, which will in no way fit in the quad cab of the Ram. Aside from that, we have a 3 week old infant who of course requires a car seat, so rear seat functionality must be maintained. The only thing I can think of is to measure out the area beneath the seats and somehow cram the subs under there, facing out, perhaps angled back. I figure with 8's I should be able to pull this off. The only thing is that I do believe RE's function …

I decided to give my mom a very short preview of my 2 mojo 15's on my saz3000d. This is not the best reaction video because she has heard many of my previous setups. However, it is funny every time. The cheap camera does not capture the cleanness of the bass. It just sounds like truck rattle. Anyways enjoy.

I got a couple hundred bucks to burn and want to see what I can do with my leased 2003 Jetta. I will want to keep the stock headunit in (will it still be possible for the system to be good?). Speakers, amp, and sub is basically what I will be limited to. Can I make something happen on a $300 budget? Are bazookas/powered subs total crap? I don't want cheap sounding, ground shaking bass. I would say I'm looking for 65% clarity and 35% power

I have an Ollllld school Audiologic reciever in my PC room / office. This is where I do most of my in home music. Webcast, streaming media, etc... PC Sound card fed into the receiver. I'm thinking that I need to make a couple of small boxes and wire them to this. Kodas - 20-80hz Orion Mids 60-1500hz Orion Tweets 1500hz + I only use that equip as a starting point. Thats what I have at hand ATM. I'd like to try my hand @ this before I go full bore and reaplce my HT setup. Advice? I'm not beyond soldering up my own xovers, nor am I …

I am new to this forum and I am in need of some input. My goal is an somewhat simple SQ focused system and I feel like I have a good start with the equipment that I have but I would like to know if I am missing anything or I'd there is anything I could add to it that would help me reach my goal. I have been out of the scene for a while so my approach is somewhat basic and I don't know if technology exists that could really compliment my current setup. Understand these components have yet to be installed so from a first hand standpoint I am not sure it's even missing anything at all. Front stage: Boston Acoustics SPZ 60's with their upstage tweets in the A pillars Sub: Bos…

I also what to know more about overseas news such as other car audio companies (Brax, Ground Zero, HSS Fidelity, etc...), not many might know that Helix (Brax sistership company) have new amplifiers (hybrid tube and SPL), subwoofers (thin line and SPL), and speakers.

I've decided my next setup would either consist of a single icon 15 or two SA12s, my goal is SQ first but i do want it to be somewhat loud. both setups would be ran off a sundown sax 1200d amp. The setup would go in a 95 BMW 740 the alternator is 140amps the stock battery is rather large. I'm trying to stay in the 1200 watt range. thanks in advance. will post more info about the setup if needed

Hey Guys, Just thought I would post up my future re-build for the Mazda.. The subs will be Sundown Sa 12's.. I have decided that I'm done with the whole wall thing.. Let me know what you think.. And if anyone wonders how i intend to mount the subs, this is the idea i have come up with.. An access panel..I will be using weather stripping under the panel to make it air tight..
