I don't want to keep bugging Jacob if other people here can help. I am building a ported enclosure for 2 Sundown SA 12's . A few questions , would it be good to tune them at 36hz? They will be on a Sundown 1500. Also, What i really need to know more then anything is the port dimensions. The max dimensions for my trunk is 22 Depth, 33 length, 16 Height. A sketch up would be really appreciated with the port calculated and what not! I will return the favor in some way *Shizzon are you around?*

I am getting ready to do a blowthrough in my truck. The subs I am planning on using are 4 Audioque hdc3 18's. The dimensions are 50x17.5x77 inches. I will be running them off of two IA 40.1's strapped. I have built several boxes but never a blowthrough. I have heard that bandpass is the best way to go when doing a blowthrough...is this true? Anyway is there anyone who can design me an enclosure for this setup? I will pay of course just let me know.

I am the fortunate owner of a 4th generation camaro :-p Anyways I have a dcon 10 on the way with plans to add a second. Ive seen the box plans for optimal ported and they look fine but because my box is going to be 3 sections with a wedge on top I dont even want to try to do a slot port. If anyone could just give me the size of the box and port ( to achieve the same result as the optimal ported enclosure ) with the port volume already included I would be very thankful

  8. The magic numbers for the DCON 10 seems to be 1.25 cu ft, tuned to 32hz. Does the vehicle really have any significant play on that? I don't compete or anything. I just hear this thing really performs with little power. I've got all the components of my budget system except the sub and box. For some reason it's the hardest thing for me to decide on. I really wanted to get away with a prefab box, but they are all tuned around 38hz. What's the point of buying a decent sub if you're not going to maximize it's potential? Anyway, As far as box building goes are there any walkthroughs or step by step type guides? I can figure out all the dimensions and cuts but the assem…

I am trying to come up with a good design for a ported box for a 18" BTL. Now it is going to be in my trunk but I am going to try to get a full 8 cubic feet. It can be 41" wide, 29 inches deep, and the tallest it can be is 18.5" and that is exactly right size for a 18" BTL. The only problem I have had is that I know it is going to need some kind of bracing and since I have no idea how to go about that I don't know how to calculate in the displacement of the extra bracing, and I don't know how to figuire out how big I will have to make my port to be at about 30hz. If it is under 8 which I'm sure it probably will be I'm fine with that I guess, but I need some help on how to…

Ok, i just bought 2 Fi Q 15's with BP Power and a AQ2200D amp for my truck. I have a 2000 ext. cab dodge dakota and am looking for some enclosure help. I currently have an idea for a certain ported wedge design with my amps fixed to the bottom but it is only 6.2 cu.ft. net with 78 sq.in of port. A similiar design can be found here: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/gallery/detail.php?vehicle_id=1095. If anyone has a design in mind, and would like to show it, I can be emailed at [email protected]. Any input is welcome. Thanks in advance for your input.

  17. considering doing a box with aero's wanna tune it lower also around 30 hz right now its in 3.4-3.5 cube at 34 hz on 3k rms to get the tune i want and my depth issues guided me here, i hear you need to have roughly the diameter of the pipe distance from flare to back of box for it to be right? so final figure would be 4.25 cubes at 30 hz with 1 6" Aero at 16.5" for that tuning and thats from flare to flare. Should i just go to 2 3" aero's or what do i do hear, because i will be going 16.5"+6"+1.5" for the MDF im too close to the rear hatch, it would be like 3-5" from it

Hey everyone. I'm starting my first build today and the dimensions of my box are going to be around 34w x 18h x 16deep. I wanted to have subs up and port along the bottom of the box facing the trunk (its a hatchback) and doing that would tune it to high. Am I able to put the port in the middle of the bottom or does the port have to be along the whole edge it is on? If it has to be along the whole edge I will probly put in vertically on the back side on either the left or right edge. Please help, this is urgent. I'm going to be starting it in a couple hours. Thanks, Ted

I am currently in Iraq and cannot measure my doors. I drive a 2004 Ford Focus sedan. Does anyone have a Focus or know the mounting depth? I have some MLI-6.5s but they were incredibly inexpensive as I got them used from a friend and I would have no qualms with not using them. I really would like to know if I can fit the Peerless SLS 8" in my doors. I know 8"s fit diameter wise, or at least they look like it from here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/9621. It would be awesome to have enough low end up front that I could put my RL-i 10 in a sealed box to save some space or even do away with a sub together.

This may come out the most newb question on earth. When running multiple woofers, do you need a amp that is ratted to power the RMS of each woofer or both woofers? In my case, for 2 btls, to run both off one amp do I need a 4,000RMS amp or a 2,000RMS amp? or should I just be looking at individual amps like strapping 2 sundown 1500s together? I've been looking at the sundowns and the rockford 2000 and 4000 amps.

I'm going to be building an enclosure for a friend here in the next couple of weeks for 4 10's. I drew out the layout of the box on a big piece of paper. The original plan was to have the 4 subs upfiring with the port facing back. However, 2 of the subs are really close to the port opening in the box. I'm just wondering if the subs being as close as they are, if it will affect the way the subs perform. I have an alternate plan to face 2 of the subs upfiring toward the middle of the top baffle, and have 2 rear firing on the same baffle as the port. I have drawn a simple sketchup of what it would look like in both situations so you kind of get an idea of what I'm talking ab…
