I've been wanting to start my box build but could not find anyone selling PVC 8" x 20" flare aeroports. I've contacted a guy named Derrick that sells them but have not responded for over a month. I don't want to make my own and would rather buy a kit, and I have already looked at the metal ones but they are pricey. Anybody know where to get them?

So, explorers finally safetied.... Now i am going to start the box build. I plan on installing 2 15's for now, but 4 in total down the road. My question, would it be bad for the subs to oversize the box to leave room to cut in speaker openings down the road? The subs call for roughly 3.5 @ 33-35 hz, if i made the box like 12 cubes tuned to the proper frequency what effect would it have? How does the increased size effect the sound and response of the sub? Will their be any dangers in running a sub in an oversize inclosure for daily driving? Thanks in advance. Chris McDonald

I've been looking at the usaci rules but all I can find is that it says modifications are trunk only so does this mean batteries and amps also have to be in the trunk or just the sub?

If you had an enclosure for 2 12" subs with 2.2 cubes ea, with individual airspaces could u build a common port to split between the 2? or if you had a common port area would the enclosure have to have a common airspace for the subs as well?

As far as sealed enclosures are concerned, I find myself to be pretty knowledgeable. When it comes to ported enclosures, thats a different story. Ive been reading quite a bit and tryin to find out how the fudge to make one - mainly the port itself and how you incorporate this with the rest of the box. When i look at ported boxes it looks likes a pucking maze and i havent the slightest clue how long to cut each piece of wood <-----thats just one of the many things im not educated on....I know about displacement and all that good stuff but still find myself extremely confused when it comes to ports....if anyone has a site i can go to and read up that would be appreciated…

Im about to be doing an enclosure for 2 12" Memphis m5 subwoofers. . And I cant find enclosure recommendations for them.... been looking on google for a while and cant find a straight answer.. anyone know around how big I should make this? I'm going to be trying to get them behind the 3rd row in an escalade. . Dude has not brought it by yet so not sure if ill be able to fit them yet........., ported by the way

Ok, so I float around a few different forums and everyone has something different on the subject. Could someone please explain port loading? Why would you want have the sub in different locations in relation to the port? (close, far, centered on the face, etc) For example lets say for arguments sake; lets just have the port and sub on the same plain on the box for this discussion. I'm always trying to learn things to help me make louder, better boxes for my customers. I figure understanding this phenomena will help. Thanks in advance

I have been working on an enclosure for 2 SSA Zcons. Spent the last week on these. Learning how to use sketch up and trying to understand torres calculation tool. I have come up with two designs using these. I am looking for some advice from someone to help me confirm my that what I have done is correct to what has been drawn. I could send my sketchup design to you for advice. I have used the torres calculation tuner to determine my port lengths and sizes. I am not 100% sure I have fully understand all senarios which change my calculations in this calculator.

The plastic that holds all of the controls for the windows and doors seems to rattle a bit, any ideas on how to stop it? I was thinking some type of small felt tape that you can find at hardware stores.

I need help on porting a box for a 12" sub. I would like the box to be around 2 cubic feet. My only restriction is that it can only be 13.5 inches in height. Any help would be great.

Doing a system for a friend with an Intrepid. He already has the subs and amp- 2 12" T2's in D4 config, and a rockford T2000 to power them. Lots of room in the trunk to play around with so this is what i was thinking: 5 cubes gross, single slot port appox 96 sq inch tuned to 35hz. Subs and Ports firing rear. Goal is primarily SPL and as long as it doesn't sound like complete ass he's cool with whatever. Listens mostly to rap. What do you guys think?

Want your guys opinion on this. On my HHR wall, Im thinking of covering the inside of the ported chamber in suede as opposed to painting it. Would this affect sound or performance any?

I did some noob calculations and would appreciate someone varifying what I have done. I would like to do this build one shot. Here is what I have done so far. Skip this if it doesn't help. The box I have now, 40" L x 16" W x 16" H. Internal volume considering 3/4"MDF, I got 4.68cf - port dispacement (4.75 x 14.4 x 30) or 1.31cf = 3.37 - driver displacement of (.16 x 2) or .32 = 3.05 or 1.52cf/driver. i am looking to build a wall in my envoy.... it will be a 4 15 woofer setup and i need a minimum of 16 cubes to make it epic..... what type of port do i need and i would like it to be tuned to about 38 hz but i mainly listen to rap so i am considering 32 hz as well...thank you

Hey i need help with my box build. I have a 03 Solara, 2 L7's and im powering them with a eclispe DA7232. so the first box i built, 5.0 cf with kickers recomended port didnt fit and i am now learning the pains of severe disapointment! so now that i progressed from building simple sealed boxes to ported and f.g. enclousers i am stuck at fitting them in a trunk where they wont physicaly fit. So would someone who has mastered this process please help this newbe who just wants to have some good sounds to go along with these badass subs, Or even beter someone who has a solara and a simular setup. hey whats up im new to spl, i have a 94 ford econoline van i have competed in spl for 1 year this is my first , and i love it, i have 4 l5 15's im puttin in a box, the box will have 13.3 cubic feet of airspace i do not want to wall but i want to be loud, i was thinking about sound deadening my roof and floor basically everywhere is it a good idea or no, i was also thinking about removing my middle row of seats, to let more air go by, any hints or tips on making a van loud without walling, or any tips on what i should do , thank you

I have 4 sa-15s im needing a box for. They will be going in a 98 gmc jimmy. The dimensions I have to work with are 36wx22hx40d. I'd like to do subs up port back. oh and they;ll be on around 2000rms for the time being until i can get a saz3500. Thanks in advance

whats up guys? Havent been on here in a while... Im running a Kicker kx2500.1 on a 18" Btl. The sub is a few years old, triple stack magnet, cooling, pchamfer etc..dual 2 ohm. It is in the back of my 2001 tahoe right now. I have a box, but it looks like crap and I need a new one. What would you feel would be a decent size and tuning? I listen to mostly rap, love when it hits super low and moves some air. I think my box is tuned around 34 hz right now. Could I go lower for daily? Would i be ok doin sub and port facing back? heres the box I have it in now, the port comes out on the top left. It was built for my last truck, so the port location isnt ideal.. let me know what …

2 12" type r's need dimensions (height and length) finishing the box tomorrow. One single square port. Tuning box to 33-37hz, probaby about 35. Box is 37x26x13 with .75" particle. Subs are facing up.

Well, as some may know (from my thread in the subwoofer/speaker forum) I have an RE Audio seX 15D4 coming my way. So, I am in need of building an enclosure for it. So, this will be going in the back of a Chev S-10, and will be powered by a JBL 601.1 amp (receiving ~600 watts RMS) This will not be for competitions of any kind, however I do enjoy listening to music, as such I want something that has the ability to sound decent and yet still get fairly loud for just general driving around use. Okay, so I have a quick question. I am planning on getting 2 Sundown SA-15's. I already have an enclosure built by the local shop, but I believe it's for an SUV. It fits in my trunk, so I was considering just rollin' with it. Only problem is, it's subs up, port back. It's 3.1ft^3 per sub, which seems fine.. but I could also have someone build me a custom enclosure that would be more of a traditional trunk style enclosure. I'm trying to save as much money as possible. What should I do? What would sound better? Thanks.

looking to make a sealed enclosure for a 10" Infinity Kappa Perfect DVQ. the sub will be getting 400rms, just trying to get some confirmation on the dimensions of the box i should make based on my reading I should be looking for a box with about .8 cubic feet and using the mid-size insert. this look correct to everyone?
