W'sup guys, i'd like a little assistance on my box build. I'm doing revisions 2 my blowthrough in my 99' s-10 and need help on port size. My box will consist of 2 12" orion hcca's and will be 14.5" tall, 43" wide, and i'm not sure as 2 how much depth i'll need. I'm still in the process of learning how 2 calculate port size so assistance with this will be greatly appreciated. I currently have a blowthrough with a bandpass box formulated from Pete at hexibase. I've been trying 2 get him 2 help me construct a ported box but he's busy as hell and i've been trying 2 contact him for like 2 months with no reply. Can u guys possibly assist me? Thx alot.

  3. Hey everyone I've been trying to mock up an enclosure for my truck in Sketch Up for 'bout a month now. I originally wanted to do 8 DC Sound Labs Level 3 12's. I really like DC audio and I have capabilities to get them at low costs. I wanted to do a 4th order but, I've been doing different designs and punching everything in to a 4th order calculator and using WinISD. I'm sorta stuck with ideas. Here's a rapid share of the usuable airspace and how the box would be shaped...a shell in a sense. mucho grasis, thank you, danke shon! http://rapidshare.com/files/184601903/blan...ge_perfect..skp I wanna stay using DC subs but I can change things around. I have a DD Z1 to pow…

  5. Hi I am doing my best to avoid stupid pointless purchases with my summer build however the box Ive had built did not pass your guys inspection http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/58341-please-help-me-figure-out-port-tuning-did-i-get-screwed/ Current box: 34W X 14H X 24D outer dimensions Port: 4W X 12.5H X 12D (no L) (2) DD 2512C on (2) hifonics brz1200 @ 1ohm ea the only difference with the pics in the link above is that I have removed the slanted port divider I'm wondering if a "better" box would be the way to go I have no reason to think the box is performing poorly I'm currently on a mission for more power but Ive got alot of responses to my amp bu…

Anyone know of any good Upstate NY Box builders, I was going to build my box myself but the Panel Saw that I was going to use is no longer available and I'm god awful with a circular saw. I'm in the Utica area to be specific willing to travel up to 1.5 hours for a good box, already have the designs courtesy of Alton. I'd also be open to out of state box builders but would have to be rather cheap due to the cost of shipping

I came across these pics and was wondering if i could install some 8" mid-bass drivers in the same location. SQ/imagining is what i'm concerned about. Would it fly or should they be installed/positioned somewhere else?

  10. I searched the forum for any previous posts and information on this and came up empty handed so I apologize if this has been covered before. I finally talked to my buddy about the fiberglass stuff he was talking about that came ready to go, all you had to do was mold it around whatever it was you were using it on and let it cure. I found out that it actually cures in sunlight, or under UV light and has a wire mesh in it to help it hold it's shape. It's not horribly expensive either. I found 1 sq.ft. pieces for $24 at Jeg's of all places which I didn't think was too unreasonable considering it's got everything a person needs to make it work. I would imagine that by t…

  13. Subs: 2 dual 2 12" sa's Amp: kicker 2500.1 Car: 01 monte carlo Currently I have a 3.5cu box with a slot port, both fired towards the rear. They were fired into the cabin and I got a 140.x. I was told firing them the other way (how they are now) would post better numbers. I've yet to get metered though and can't tell a difference by ear. The plan is to build a new box with a 6" aero port firing to the right with subs facing back. Can anyone chime in with a better suggestion or confirm this would post good numbers? -Thanks

There's a sanctioned USACI show about an hour and a half from here this weekend, thinking about entering in the "Consumer Q" class...anyone here have experiences with USACI SQ? I'm pretty sure the "Q" classes are just soundstage judging, no install, but I'm not sure. What are some things I should look out for so I don't get completely stomped? Thanks in advance.

Hey gusy, im about to start the box build for my sa-12 and im just looking for a little help since its going to be my first real box build. I've came up with a design, but i used the RE box calculator to do so,which i've heard isn't all the accurate, so i was just wondering if someone could check the numbers for me. Heres the dimensions- 24" wide by 14" tall by 15" deep. the port is 2" wide with a length of 16". RE says that the box is 1.72 cubes at 32.8hz with 25in of port. Anybody willing to check this for me? Thanks

I am looking for someone to build me a box for my SSA Xcon 10. Looking for something that will hit on all types of music. The sub will be in a Trailblazer with a cadence A7hc at 1 ohm so around 1200 watts. I would like to keep the size down as much as possible. Ported preferred. If anyone wants to build for me pm me and we can work out a deal. Thanks

So i have decided to build a custom box for my 2 10in type-s alpine subs. I found an equation on JL audio's website to tune a box and have been playing with numbers for about an hour now. Everything looks good to me i just want to have someone double-check to make sure im not screwing things up. The outside dimensions of the box are 11.5X31.5X20.5in. Using 3/4in mdf that would leave me with 5700 cub inches inside to work with. there will be a single vent, 10in tall and 1in wide, going in 5.5 inches. after subtracting the volume of the 2 boards used to create the vent and the 2 subs( 86.4cu in each), ill be left with roughly 5444cu in of internal volume. with the equatio…

I've got two of these but temporarily I want to see what one can do, I'll be running it off of 900wrms. Anyone want to design me a nice efficient box, tuned anywhere from 27-32 hz? Sub will have to be facing forward, aero ports preferred, 6" PVC pipe is what I'd like to use. Max dimensions (to keep it under window line) would be 54" length x 22" height x 15" depth.
