Hey all. Im looking for a design for 2 12 Sa's in my PT. My max dimensions are 39 W x 15 D x 20 H. i will be running them off of a saz 3500. Im looking for a cross between daily and burp if there is such a thing. Ive been told in the PT to run port up subs up with slot port inbetween the subs. I had someone making a design with cut sheets flake on me and I have to have a design by Monday when i have a shop to build in. I know this is asking a lot but if anyone can help me out it would be appreciated. the design can be basic as i dont have much room to work with. I just need cut sheet list and I should be set. Tuning should be right around 33-35 hz. and box should be righ…

So tomorrow I'm going to begin building my enclosure for 2 10" Skar IVX's. I'll just be running these as a temp. setup on a BRZ 1200.1 So onto my questions, is this optimum setup for my vehicle? (2001 honda accord) I've heard subs forward, port forward sounds louder to the listeners ear. Any truth behind this? Do I have enough port area? Should I be running subs up port forward? Or vice versa? Any input is greatly appreciated and thanks

I just bought a pair of 10" dcons from Stefan on this very forum yesterday. So while they are on their way I'm looking to get a box design for them. Subs up port back. Looking for the most optimal enclosure size using what ever type of port that would work better for me (slot, aero, or pvc port that sticks out of the enclosure itself) with the dimensions I have H x W x D 13" x 28" x 17" tuned to 32hz. Thanks for the help.

Anyone know of any good Upstate NY Box builders, I was going to build my box myself but the Panel Saw that I was going to use is no longer available and I'm god awful with a circular saw. I'm in the Utica area to be specific willing to travel up to 1.5 hours for a good box, already have the designs courtesy of Alton. I'd also be open to out of state box builders but would have to be rather cheap due to the cost of shipping

Have a 12" GCON in a sealed box. It sounds great but I am wanting more and I know the sub will give it to me if I can put it in the right enclosure. I used the ICON enclosure design for the sealed box it is in now, would the ICON ported design work well for the GCON as well? It falls into the optimal range, 2.5f^3 tuned to 33hz. It is a 2 ohm sub with 500 watts powering it in the trunk of a '96 accord. I have about 32" x 20" x 18" to work with. Anyone have any experience or recommendations for a ported box design that will work well with the GCON?

Hello all, I'm new to this forum, but not to car audio. I am however new to the Sundown woofers. I'm hoping you all can lend some help and thank you in advance on my enclosure design. What I have is an 05 Acura TL I'm doin a pair of Sundown SA12s in the trunk. Subs to be fired foward and a 6in Aero either out the back or side. I have tried several enclosures with foward fired subs & port, but the car just did not really like it. Last setup was a single CV Stroker12, power was supplied by an O.S. USamps VLX400 1ohm mono. I had good results with two 4in PVC ports fired back, Sub obviously foward. Then tried a 6in Aero out the drivers side of box. The Aero was slightly b…

Hi guys, A good friend of mine want to use his Fi btl n2 15" in a new ported box. He was using mine until I sold the box. This will be a temporary setup, as he is in the process of ordering a second btl, and the box for the 2 is ready (he had 2 Xcons 15" in, before). So, the box he wants to use has those dimensions: 83 cm x 37 cm x 50 cm 32.7" x 14.6" x 19.7" Those are internal dimensions. He has 2 4" flared ports that he wants to use. What length should he make them to achieve a 32 Hz tuning ? Thanks very much for your help. I use to "work" with RAM Design for L port boxes, but I want to try the forum members for these round ports.

Hi all I am looking for advice on a design for a single ported enclosure to carry a 13W7 sub. The enclosure would be sitting on the rear right hand seat, directly behind the driver (Right hand drive in Australia). There are a couple of things I need to clarify first... Is the recommended internal volume of 2.375 cubic foot too small for this sub? If so, what would be a better size. Here we only get 18mm thick MDF (about 0.71"), so to make the front baffle stronger, should I just glue and screw two together? - Will it start to rattle / vibrate loose? If I make the box to JL's specs of 2.375, I would have to change the outside dimensions of the box to be (19.7" x 19.7" x 17…

I have a Hummer H3 with dual Sundown sa-12D4's running off a Hifonics BRZ1700.1 with 145 amp alt, big 3, 0 gauge, 8 gauge power wire for the speaker wire. I have them in a box with dimensions 38x21.25x14; .75 mdf. The port is 12.5x4.5x31.5 long. I have made the port longer and shorter and can't seem to get it to peak around 34hz. It sounds like it is peaking around 38 or so to me. I have built many single sub boxes, and all of them end up being just about perfect, but I can't seem to get this dual box to sound correctly. I have made 3 different boxes trying to get my box hitting the lows well, but can't seem to do it. Could somebody please help me to get the right …

Double post.. sorry Hello all . Im in beginning stages of design for my 2002 PT Cruiser Enclosure. This will be my first year competing in the lanes for SPL. I know its correct to have a daily box and a burp box, but I would like to get as close of a mix in one box as possible. My initial thoughts would be to have subs facing up and slot port facing up as well because of the lack of room. So far I am just looking for any advice I can get. Max Dimensions: 39w x 20h x 14d. Would prefer port in between subs but If it doesnt make a difference, im flexible. Am I on the right track? Any help would be appreciated.

I've been wanting to start my box build but could not find anyone selling PVC 8" x 20" flare aeroports. I've contacted a guy named Derrick that sells them but have not responded for over a month. I don't want to make my own and would rather buy a kit, and I have already looked at the metal ones but they are pricey. Anybody know where to get them?

I am designing a custom box I want tuned at 32 hz and I am not sure if I am using these online calculators correctly. I enter my box volume and height and width of the port and it gives me the length i need to make it... my question is what is my box volume? It is with or without the port??? My box is all completly designed and ready except for the port length because I am not sure how to get my desired frequency. Here is my current box. Height= 15 inches Width= 17 inches Depth= 20 inches (I might lower depending on how much I need for port) Port height = 13.5 inches Port width = 2 inches if this enclosure was SEALED, its total volume = 2.24 cubic feet, i was aiming more …

So Im collecting parts to do a blowthrough in my fullsize chevy regular cab. 1988 k1500. Just bought a crescendo 3500. gonna get a singer 250a alt and a couple 3100s and one up front. multiple runs of 0. okay so now for my question. i have been pondering ideas on sub/box setups. I have been set on 2 18s for a while, but got to thinking about 4 15s. and idk whether to a 4th order or just a regular ported box. i can do the rregular box tuning but would need some help designing a 4th order as i have read and have yet to wrap my brain around it. My goals: Daily, Hairtricks (move air yo) not super low. 30-32 (in regular box tuning terms) not sure where that would be in a 4th o…
