I don't want to keep bugging Jacob if other people here can help. I am building a ported enclosure for 2 Sundown SA 12's . A few questions , would it be good to tune them at 36hz? They will be on a Sundown 1500. Also, What i really need to know more then anything is the port dimensions. The max dimensions for my trunk is 22 Depth, 33 length, 16 Height. A sketch up would be really appreciated with the port calculated and what not! I will return the favor in some way *Shizzon are you around?*

I had a last minute change of heart and decided to scoop a pair of Obsidian 18's. Can anyone give me a general idea of what size to build it? I am still going to get a BC2000 or a SAZ-1500 (The sundown is so much prettier .-. ) and I would like to tune it lowish for chopped and screwed music. Is 26hz too low to be realistic for music? I don't listen to hardly any rock or metal, mostly slowed rap so tightness and accuracy are hardly concerns of mine (my xplodes are going into the fire pit though) What would be an optimal size for a pair of 18's? Once I get a feel for how big it needs to be, i'm going to see what dimensions I can squeeze out to keep the box as low as po…

Any help will be much appreciated....... Mtx recommends 2.48 net enclosure per sub(from there website)(W 24xD 17xH 16)Port 2"x14.5. Now my trunk dimensions are 40w x 26d x 16h so i think i can make this work in my trunk...Right?just by taking 4" off the width and adding it to the depth and then make a 4" port........Can someone help me out with this....PLEASE??lol I listen to mostly rap and rock(for port tuning) Which of the following is the sub displacement? That would have to be minused off the…

Enclosure for 12 FI BL Just wanted to see if anyone has any opinions on this box setup. 2.2 Cubic feet H x D x W 17" 13.092" 30" It would be 33 hz tuning. With port area of 30.8" . I am using 14 square inches per cubic foot Does this sound about right with my calculations or am I way off? I have the cut sheets written down but not sure if its needed in this post.

Hey guys. New to the board here so I hope this isn't a played out topic...... but the only design I can find on SSA's site is for a single sub. Is there one floating around somewhere? The only one I could find on the net was here ----> http://www.*****.com/board/topic/158983-need-a-ported-box-design-for-2-12-ssa-dcons/ Is this a good one to try? I noticed all the youtube vids I've seen with 2 the box looks like the single enclosure design, with the port to the far side of the face. Thanks in advance.

  9. I have never built a box for a sub before, and now I am going to be building one for a 8" Kicker L7. This is going to be put into a Jeep TJ, so it does NOT have much trunk space at all. I am not too worried about the size of the box, because I can dimension it to the size of the trunk myself. What I am worried about and have no clue is how to make the port inside the box. I need to know how much space I need in the port to get the most air. Although it is an 8", I want it to perform the best it can through the box. I am looking on Kicker's website and these are the dimensions it says: Mounting Depth (IN.,CM) 4-3/4, 12.1 Mounting Cutout, Square (IN.,CM) 7-1/4, 18.4 Min Re…

  10. Started by imhungnurnot,

First off, can I count on port end correction to lower the tuning freq of my enclosure? For example, NET Vol. = 2.6 cuft. or 4493 cuin. Port: 12.5" wide x 3.375" high X 24" long without end correction, (port length = 24") tuning = 38.58Hz with end correction, (port length = 25.6875") tuning = 37.52Hz I know 1Hz difference in tuning isn't really audible (but the end correction factor will differ in different situations i.e. port height, etc), but I want to know if the end correction factor actually exists!!!! Secondly, I'm about to build a box for one DD 9512g. DD recommends 42 in^2 port area with 22 port length with 2.6 cuft NET vol. which yields 39.97 Hz tuning …

I purchased this sub on closeout from Parts Express earlier this year when TC-Sounds was filing for bankruptcy. My daily enclosure is a sealed pair of RL-i8's. I'd like to build a ported box for this single TC-Sounds 12" sub but I'm a complete noob when it comes to enclosure design. My typical listening style is loud SQ; typical artists include Smashing Pumpkins, NiN, and Daft Punk. Any suggestions? This is just for fun, so feel free to be creative.

ok. i think i might have the box ready to go with all the deminsions. i play on putting 2 sundown nightshade 18s in my truck. i was told it need 12^2-16^2 inches of port area. so the box i came up with is 11.5 cubes, with a a port that is 33 inches tall and 5.5 inches wide, this will give me 181.5^2 inches of port area and i need 184 with the box size. its going to be tuned to 30hz. will this work out to be a good box? or do i need to do something different, just let me know

My 12" ICON is coming in the mail today so I want to finalize a design before before having my buddy build it for me. What I want to know is if I have calculated everything correctly and will in fact end up with 2.3ft^3 at 32.5hz. Here's how I measured the port length. 19.2140 + 14.8723 + 1.375 = 35.312 The the12volt calculator says that this length gives me about 32.5hz. Did I design this correctly? Also, I just used the displacement listed on the product page which is .16. Does doing a double baffle affect this? Click here if you want to download my SketchUp design

Like title says guys i have these subs laying around i dont have dimensions as the car is my gfs and she would like to have some bass in there so instead of having them collect dust and her hatch looks small then might as well throw them in there so im looking for the box to be tuned to 32hz. Mainly listen to rap/hip hop and some light rock. Forgot what else to put in this been a while since i done this alright hope to hear from some knowledgeable people here

Alright so I'm making a box for 2 kenwood 12s. I'm thinking 1.5 for each sub. Idk wether to do a single chamber for both or separate chambers?.. I'm leaning more towards one chamber and one port. I want it tuned to 32 hz. This box is going into a trunk so size isn't a big issue. If anyone could make me a nice design I'd be very greatfull. Thank you.

Okay, Im not much of a box-builder. Nor do I know any of the concepts to box-building. I was wondering for my MAW-15's, Which I'm putting in a 4.0 ^3cu. ft. box sealed, When I get the box built does it need to be two independent chambers with 2 cu ft on each side or 1 big 4 cu ft. box. I wasn't sure what if that had an effect on the subs and/or their performance. Thanks in advance. ~MadroX

Pic 1 this is the front of the box that will be facing the front seats Pic 2 this is a view of the back/underside of the box. Pic 3 This is a back/side view of where the 4" diameter aeroports will go Pic 4 this is the other side The sub will be downfiring towards the back of the cab at an angle and im curious of how this will sound. im thinking that since the ports will be loading off of the door as well as the sub it should be a pretty loud design but i would like some opinions since im new to box building. i wasnt able to insert the actual image

If you had an enclosure for 2 12" subs with 2.2 cubes ea, with individual airspaces could u build a common port to split between the 2? or if you had a common port area would the enclosure have to have a common airspace for the subs as well?

I have a visonik 12" woofer, that came from this set: http://ep.yimg.com/ip/I/millionbuy_2051_58365261 I am looking for some dimensions for a box, I intend to build it my self. I am planning low tuned, and ported. it will be in my room for the time being, so i would say slot ported, to ~28-32hz. size isn't an issue. And, it certainly wouldn't hurt to recieve a few tips for a first time builder.

  24. I'm designing a box with the help of the torres box calc and sketchup and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or if this looks right. I believe I included all necessary dimensions, but if I forgot any let me know. The subs will be mounted on double baffle up top, with rear facing port. Any help/suggestions/comments are appreciated!
