Topic says is.. I'm still running a Fi ssd 15 and a Sundown sae-1200d.. I know I'm not giving a lot of detail here, but should this setup hit the lows like in the song " White Girl " ? If so do I need a new box tuned to a lower hz?

  8. Hi guys, A good friend of mine want to use his Fi btl n2 15" in a new ported box. He was using mine until I sold the box. This will be a temporary setup, as he is in the process of ordering a second btl, and the box for the 2 is ready (he had 2 Xcons 15" in, before). So, the box he wants to use has those dimensions: 83 cm x 37 cm x 50 cm 32.7" x 14.6" x 19.7" Those are internal dimensions. He has 2 4" flared ports that he wants to use. What length should he make them to achieve a 32 Hz tuning ? Thanks very much for your help. I use to "work" with RAM Design for L port boxes, but I want to try the forum members for these round ports.

Ok I was looking at my trunk and if I want to make a 8 cubic foot box the only way I am going to be able to do it is make an odd shaped box ported, or do aeroports. I am just wondering how I would tune a 8 cubic foot box after displacement for 32 hz with aeroports. I am kinda new to these and I was looking at info on how to use them and I am just majorly confused.

Curious, as anyone else seen a lot of box builders and designers using aero port areas equivalent to square or slotted port area? I was under the impression that the agreed upon rule of thumb was that you can use .56% less area while achieving like results. Within this practice, I find myself believing that if one were to use equal, that in theory, they are increasing their port area by, .56% I also lean toward this thought, if you correctly designed your enclosure and its port, based around the mathematics and t/s parameters of your driver, and chose to not use the formentioned rule of thumb, when using an aero port, that you have given too much port area to your design…

I have approximately 2.6ft^3 before displacements. This box is for 2 DC Level 3 10s. I'd like for the box to be tuned around 33hz, I planned on using a pvc/abs round port. What diameter should I use and how long should it be?

I'm looking at piping for a 12" port for my next box; please for fucks sweet sake tell me there's cheaper 90* bends out there than four hundred dollars. I just need a 12" port 48" long to get my tuning. I don't want the box more than 42" wide, so i'm looking for a bend or two this is the kinda stuff i've found so far http://www.lowes.com/pd_574544-1814-PVC+00300A+2200_0__?productId=50114329 http://www.homedepot.com/p/Charlotte-Pipe-12-in-PVC-DWV-Vent-90-Degree-Hub-x-Hub-Elbow-PVC-00300A-2200/203950072?cm_mmc=Shopping%7cTHD%7cG%7c0%7cG-BASE-PLA-D26P-Plumbing%7c&gclid=CIa7vLPw2ssCFQ6maQodb7sJAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds http://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/12-class-…

  15. I am building a full system for a friend in her trailblazer and need a little guidance to make sure I'm on the right path. She listens to 90% country music and about 10% classic rock. She likes loud but nothing over the top. I pretty well have the front stage sorted. Deleting rear speakers. Have a pretty head unit picked out lol. Front stage amp is done. Which leaves me with the sub and enclosure. Previous set up she had was a single 10" kicker comp in a sealed enclosure on 300 watts in a trunk. What she did not like about it was the output was a little weak and it lacked the tight impact she was looking for. Her requirements are small footprint and $150 or less. I c…

Lets say you have a 6.0 cu.ft. box and you have woofer displacement of .38 cu.ft. Now you have a net volume of 5.62 cu.ft. before port displacement. How do you know how to calculate the port length if you dont know the exact box size since port displacement have to be considered. I know how to calculate port displacement but i am not sure about calulating port length with a changing box volume as the port size vary. Can someone help me understand how this is done please. I know to some of you this is a dumb question but am just looking for some help and wanting to understand how its done and not mess up any more designs. This is a box I am building for a friend. For an 8" Kicker L5, There is very minimal space in his Jeep TJ, so the height is pretty much no give for the size of the sub, even though it is an 8". This is the first box I have ever built before, so I know it may seem a bit rough in some parts, but I am working on it to make it look good for my buddy. If you guys have any comments about it to make it better, please let me know! after all i am only a beginner! 20. From what I've been reading, using a ported box will give you a 3 db gain in output, as will using a second subwoofer. Right now I'm running a ported Dcon. So, if I were to buy another one, it would pretty much be a waste of money to run them sealed? I should be getting the same amount of output from one ported as I would from two sealed? (Someone should really change the title under my name from "Member" to "Forum idiot". )

  23. Howdy, I am going to be walling the astro soon and wanted to get some ideas of what type of walls there are and whats the benefits to them.I am walling it with 8 18" icons I havent set the amp in stone yet but I am contemplating between a DC 12k or a Soundigital 16k. once again the amp is up for debate. There will be a multiple alternator setup with battery bank to supply the amp or amps that are chosen. but with all that out of the way! Dimensions I have to go with are 48" tall 51" wide and up to 97" deep but I really dont need that deep lol! we still need to leave room for amps and batteries! I was throwing around the idea of a clamshell or maybe a 4th order just not …

Current setup is Mach 5 MLI and Seas H1396 amplified by an Eclipse EA4000 and all the processing is done by my Alpine 9813. I'm very satisfied with the midbass output and the top end, it's just that midrange isn't cutting it After seeing Ryan2's idea with the Fostex FF85k's I thought trying a pair and ditching the tweeters. I don't want to invest in the H701 at this time and try 3-way (would require some sort of controller too and another 2 channel amp, not to mention the extra room ) The problem is placement. I have no room in the dash to mount them. Pics of the "locations" : One idea is to use the kicks. Passenger side is ok, driver's side could work but there's v…
