Ok. So I keep hearing different things from different people. Maybe some people over here have some decent advice since im not getting it else where. So I have a DD3512. DD recommends 2.5cu ft ported at 40 hz for their enclosure. Some of the local guys here who run DD say NO. that I need about 4cu ft ported about 36-38hz for one DD 12. Then another guy I was talking to online who tests TS parameters and sub on a daily basis says that the 3512 can play great in a box down to a cu ft. but is good in about 2-2.5cu ft ported at about 34hz. WTF?! All these dimensions contradict eachother and I know DD isnt a super woofer that can play in anything so someone help me out …

I'm in the process of starting a new install in my '95 Probe. Purchasing a DD 3500 series 15 and RF 1000a2 from a friend. Initially I plan on running the box he was using in his Explorer which is around 5cf. with 3 4" aero ports, can't remember the length. I'd like to build a new box to better fit the Probe, and I'd like to see if I can't get a little more out of the setup in the process. In the Explorer this setup has metered at 147.?db and I'd like to see if I can't manage 150. Any suggestions on box design would be appreciated. I'd like to keep it tuned low ~30-32hz.

  3. I did a recent install in the wifes jetta an alpine oversized face deck 7998 or something I think I'd have to look.. a PG Xenon x600.1 amp, pushing a single DD 9510F in a 3 cube box 45in^3 port 34hz tune. not too musical imo, but bangs hard on the low bass stuff. I think if I had more power it may help, and a higher tune also would more than likely help, as it's tuned lower than the drivers FS... anyway, in my sig is a link to the vid, and here are a couple pix does a 141.9@34hz car closed on the dash new TL, and a 141.4@32hz. 140s on music peak hold on dash, and I did a rolling average with some chopped and screwed and watched it do 139-140 for a little over 30 seconds.…

Hey guys! This is my first post on this forum, so please excuse me if I'm breaking any protocol. Anywho, if anyone's interested in Digital Designs' new T series subs, check out the link below in which I posted my build thread. I realize it's linked to Elemental Designs, but that's only because I was initially considering the use of their 8" sub. I can't compare the two, but let's just say that I am THRILLED with the performance, sound, and appearance of DD's T1508. I couldn't ask for anything more... well not from an 8" sub. Don't take that the wrong way, though. If I were to compare to anything at the local Best Buy, I'd have to be looking at a single 12" or a pair of 10…

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=5091 I saw this on ROE and couldn't beleive the price! Are these like last years version of the 61i that is currently on the CDT "gold" web site. I remember old CDT eurosport, and only heard them once, I was pretty impressed but it was a 3 way. I just don't have that kind of cash ATM, and won't for a while with all the rest on my build up. Bump if anyone has experience with these? I might jump on this and let the H/U issue wait.. if these are a value anyone want to borrow me another 300 bucks so I can get 2 sets I would hate to miss out on sucha pwn sauce deal if these are in fact good?? lol I'm looking for some…

Has anyone ever built, seen, or heard a deathbox enclosure? I would like to build one myself but have only heard about deathbox and I never found the build plans. I would like to test the enclosure with a 10" mtx woofer and see what the enclosure is capable of. I stuffed the mtx in a sealed enclosure and it produces tight bass but nothing fantastic about it at 300watts. So if anyone knows where I can find the build info for the deathbox, I'd really appreciate it! Or let me know if you have ever heard one in person!

Bass race death match was awesome to, I'll get the video later. Anyway, I built for this thing and I won, it ended up with a 146.1 for a 5min average. It could have been higher but there was no need to turn it up (as you'll see i started at a 148 and backed it down) This was taken this past weekend in Augusta, GA at one of the db drag events. Car off, 5minutes, four loudest street cars at once! I started high, and then turned it down just above the guy next to me. The guy with crx got a late start, so he only did a 138(burps a 151), the guy in the red truck had 2 L510's and a Orion 1200D and held a 138 for the 5min. Not bad! It was a looong five minutes sitting inside …

  8. Hope this image works. Its a very rough sketch of what I'm planning. It's roughly 2.5 cu. ft after port and before sub volume is removed. Subs firing down, port forward. This is roughly the outside dimensions I have to work with and am open to other sub/port configurations if they make sense. Subs will likely be SA-10s or maybe Gcon 10s. Torres calculator showed 32 hz tuning frequency, but I'm confused why it asks for a port diameter and port dimensions for a slot port?? Any opinions?

I currently have a 12" Xcon d2 with a bc2000 wired in parellel in a 2 cu. ft. net box tuned to 32 hz. with 38.5" of port area and love the sound. It is in a 98 mustang with stock alt, stock replacement battery(under hood), 0 gauge all the way including big 3, and marine deep cycle in trunk. My 2 concerns are running amp at .5 ohm until i can get a second bc2000( not sure how long it will be until i get it) linked at a 2 ohm load. Before i link the two i will upgrade the alt. The second concern is space as i only have 31W x 12.5H x 29D max. I really want to keep ported but if it isn't optimal then it might have to be sealed. So I guess I have 2 questions. Can anyone help m…

  16. Ok I have a few questions about the closure that I am designing. First is this a slot port design? Second do i need to throw some bracing in the inclosure or is it good as is? 18. Hi all I am looking for advice on a design for a single ported enclosure to carry a 13W7 sub. The enclosure would be sitting on the rear right hand seat, directly behind the driver (Right hand drive in Australia). There are a couple of things I need to clarify first... Is the recommended internal volume of 2.375 cubic foot too small for this sub? If so, what would be a better size. Here we only get 18mm thick MDF (about 0.71"), so to make the front baffle stronger, should I just glue and screw two together? - Will it start to rattle / vibrate loose? If I make the box to JL's specs of 2.375, I would have to change the outside dimensions of the box to be (19.7" x 19.7" x 17…

  23. Hello all . Im in beginning stages of design for my 2002 PT Cruiser Enclosure. This will be my first year competing in the lanes for SPL. I know its correct to have a daily box and a burp box, but I would like to get as close of a mix in one box as possible. My initial thoughts would be to have subs facing up and slot port facing up as well because of the lack of room. So far I am just looking for any advice I can get. Max Dimensions: 39w x 20h x 14d. Would prefer port in between subs but If it doesnt make a difference, im flexible. Am I on the right track? Any help would be appreciated.
