  3. Hi guys, I will be building the pre cut enclosures I calculated under RE enclosure calculator but there are a few things I would like to verify. I would like to tune the box between 33-35Hz @ 1.8-2.0 cubic ft. However, I just read that the RE calculator is not accurate. So I searched and found this website Enclosure Volume Calculator (EVC) and made the following calculations: Box Width 23 Inches Box Height 15 Inches Box Depth 15 Inches Material Thickness 0.75 Inches Number of Drivers 1 Total Total Port Volume 258.188 Inches3 -----> see calculations below: Port Width 13.5 Inches Port Height 1.5 Inches Port Depth 12.5 Inches Driver Volume …

Just curious on how much a shop should charge for a box if i supplied them with cut sheet and just had them supply and cut the wood? I enjoy the box building process but don't have the time, skill or equipment to do nice straight cuts. I should be able to design assemble and finish. What do you think? Around $100? Ill talk to my local shop this week but wanted to get yalls opinion.

Hey, I have a whole trunk to fill on a Impala 1972. I plan on either getting (4) 12 BTL or (2) 15 BTL. What do you guys suggest for this trunk and setup? I have seen 4 12s in a straight box going across but dont know if these require more space. Maybe have two on either side in an arrow up formation, speakers facing the rear trunk. ( ^ ). I plan to build it square ported and have an appeal once done.

Alright.. im kicking around the idea in my head to purchase a crescendo 3kwp to use with my 18" BTL (d2) .. when i had my box built for me he wanted to know what size amp i was going to use.. i told him the sundown 1500 (which is hooked up right now) ..he made the box on the larger side, i dont know exactly what the cu ft is.. thing i dont know is, should I do a new box up if i decide to throw a 3kw on it? Does my box size play a big role on the amount of power i feed my sub? Whipping up a new box will be a pain in the ass lol.. but if i go dump the money into a new amp then re building isnt gonna kill me. Im pretty sure I can answer this already.. i have a feeling the s…

  13. ok so i really dont trust most of the box calcs. online so i've been researching formulas and anything i need to know about designing on my own. so anyone with advice please put in your two cents..... tell me if i got this much figured out: 1). to come up with the ft^3 of the box you multiply length x width x height using the inner dimensions. then take the total of that and divide by 1728 which is the in^3 of 1 cubic ft. 2). then to factor in port, bracing, and driver displacement you use the L x W x H on each item and subtract it from the ft^3 3). for box's with a slanted front. for example the top is 5" and the bottom is 15" you find the average of them by adding them…

Vehicle is 2door hardtop jeep wrangler. I'm going to put 4 12" icons in, I can either have the drivers face towards the dash or up, port can face any direction (guessing i'll do rear, but perhaps front would be better for semi wall?). If I have the drivers facing the front towards dash, the box will not be a wall (there'll be ~15 inches on sides and top, around the box). This is what I was envisioning for upfiring, or just rotated and move port for front firing. Also, The box will be directly behind driver and passenger seats, and will have about 15inchs of space from rear of box to tailgate (gotta have some storage )

  16. Vehicle: 93 Passat Subwoofers: 4 12" DD1500 Series Amplifiers: Unknown, 2000 watts max clamped class Now my initial thought form what ive seeen is a 10 cube box tuned to around 34 for daily and w/e the vehical likes for spl subs clustered up by passenger head rest, port drivers side. other than that im not sure what else to ry when building a wall... So if you have a wall or know of some good pointers please let me know! NOw for a few quesitons: 45° corner pieces or reverse rounds? 2x4"s around the box for supports or just double layer everything? does the location of the baffle matter that much? as in how far away it is from the b-pillar? and how would you find the best…

  17. Hi All, Now at my job i search McMaster-Carr very frequently. and today i decided "hey lets see what they have for sound stuff" (cause they have EVERYTHING! lol) so i did a quick search for "Sound" and found they have some nice sound barrier material and some nice sound dampening stuff, looks just like the Sound Deadener Showdown Stuff just thicker and with a backing ( http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi ) any ways i was just wondering if the stuff on mcmaster-carr is good sound barrier or good sound dampening? I'm not very good with box designs but what do you, and by you I mean people that know about this stuff, think of running 1 SSA DCON in at roughly 2.5- 3ft^3 box with a passive radiator??? I like the idea and it would solve a few issues for me, but Im not shure how it would sound. I know thats a pretty big box for a DCON so what would the consequenses be?? This would be in a foward firing box in an 02 ext cab GMC sierra running at about 400watts. I know nothing about passive radiators except that there supposed to act kinda like ports, I think, so any help with tunning or suggesting a specific radiator would be appriciated.

Alright guys here it goes... Trial 2! for my woofer box.... My current design is 31.5w, 22d and 16.5t. I don't remember the wood thickness but I found a scratch paper and I only made my box 3.5cuFt... Which is the smallest they recommend for a level 5 15". Why I did that? I have no bloody idea.... Anyway I re measured and I can add a little more to the box -- roughly 2.25 inches on top, and 7.5 inches on width. I would like to try and reduce the dept the most I can because as of right now I cannot fit more than one battery back there. I would like to be able to lay my amp down nice and neat and have the bat next to it. I will be trying to design my own again but I woul…

I am looking for some songs with very good LOW bass notes. The best I have so far are: 24 23 by Trae (and by jeezy, there are two versions), Dopeman by OJ Da Juiceman and In Tha Hood by Trae. Preferably not chopped and screwed (or slowed), as I can do that myself if needed. Thanks, --Chris
