I have a 2003 Pontiac Vibe and an AA Mayhem 15 and Im trying to figure out, ideally, what size box would give me best results and what way to fire my sub and port. Can anyone tell me how to figure that out? Like different variables associated with this. I was thinking sub up port back.

I need to know how many tubes I would need and what length and what diameter opening to reach like 30hz in 3 cubes... with at least 36-48 square inches of port. And I also need to know the displacement of these I can't seem to figure it out.

I don't want to run rear speakers, and I was told here that 6's wouldn't keep up with what I was running, so I thought I'd try to fit 8's in the front doors. I remember hearing that someone here had done it to their blazer without pods, but I don't remember how they said they did it. I would run a pair of Crescendo PWX-8's and a pair of their tweeters. If the eight had trouble reaching up high enough, I could put a pair of 4's or 4x6's in the dash, in the factory locations to help with vocals.

On the Termlab im hitting a 144.3 sealed up at the dash with a sweep. its in a trunked cavalier. i just want to know if i can get that score a little bit higher? would holding the trunk lid, sunroof, or doors down during a run help? would more room for air to get into the cabin help? does subwoofer box placement help, meaning how far away from the trunk lid it is, also how about rear seat folded down half way help? how about front seat positions? kind of just trying to get as much of an edge as i can. with the 144.3 run it was all set up for daily driving, not much tuning done at all, as in i didnt play with box position, or seat position or anything like that. i just k…

Yeah i know i haven't posted in a long ass time.. However.. So i finally got the Navi goin a while ago and sold the town car. I kept my same box i had and just threw it in after i reconed my MT's. So needless to say 10x louder in an suv than in a car. But after a week or so off playing music i start to notice rattles and squeaks. So a few days later the bass just isn't hitting. So I go back to the box and see this... Thinkin to myself dam, i might need to start fiber-glassing the inside of my boxes lol. Funny thing is i can listen to my music all day up loud but passengers seem to have sensitive ears..on the broken box at that. lol 2 18" mt's 5k watts btw 150's im hopin …

I'm currently building my first 6th order bandpass enclosure. I need a way to make the top panel secure to the box, but easily removable for access to the sub once the top is put on. Here is what I have done thus far. I have also added weather stripping all around to prevent leaking. I'm looking for suggestions for the best way to go about this other than glue and screws. Thanks in advance.

So after much searching throughout the internet I still cannot figure out how to make a crossover. All I want to do is put a 12db/octave high pass on my 3.5" 2 ways at 500hz and a 12db/octave low pass on my 6.5 midbass at 500. All speakers are 4 ohm. I dont know if I need a capacitor and an inductor for each crossover or just one for each. Can someone please help explain how to do this or hook me up with some site links? Please and thank you in advance.

I'm almost up and running with 2 sa10's on a sundown saz-1500d @1ohm in my Lincoln. I have a box I built for my Cadillac, that is 2.5 cubes with 40 sq in of port area with a slot port. I'm going to run this for now, down in the well of the trunk. Here's a pic. I want to build a new box that sits on the hump behind the seat. I'm not going to run rear fill or the factory sub. So I will have two 6x9 holes on each side and a sub hole that is 6-8" in the middle. First question is what size aeros to run. Will 2-4" or 1-6" be enough port area? Or maybe 3-4"? Second question, how to port through the rear deck? The box will be 10.5" tall and the bottom of the rear deck is about…

Hi guys, I drive an SUV for the first time, with enough of trunk space (for the first time of my life) ! It's a Mazda CX-5 (2.2 l diesel with 150 hp) : I love it hopefully :-) :-) I will use my Zcon 15" on an IA20.1 amplifier. I think I'll do sub up. But how to put the port ? Port up or port to the rear ? How much room is necessary between the port and the rear hatch ? Is there a maximum ? If I put it firing back, what would be good and why ? Port standing on a side of the back panel of the box, or laying down on all the width ? I see both scenarii for SUV generally. I'll take some mesurements later. I think I can easily run my sub in a 4ft3 net enclosure, in this…

So the Mag that is coming is going to need a worthy home in April's alero. I'm thinking: Shooting for 1.75ft^3, ported to 32hz with 18in^2 of port. Only going to feed her ~600rms @ 4ohm (Lanzar Vibe). Woofer in the rear corner, port running fwd and venting into the center, amp (the white thingy) frenched into the glass 'in front of' the port. Coo? -Nick

This is the first time I have run anything other than a single 15" or a single 18" so I want ot get opinions before I build it. 4.8ft^3 net air space (5.12ft^3 gross .16ft^3 displacement per sub) tuning 32hz-33hz 72.5in^2 port area

I'm new to this forum, so let me know if this has already been covered. I have a Carvin HD900 amp and a RLP15d2 driver and want to build an MDF enclosure. I would like to position the driver so it is downward firing and would also like to have port(s), perhaps on the rear. I would like to have a width of 20" and height isn't a concern. I think I want to tune to around 14hz (want something really low) and need to know about amounts of polyfill inside the enclosure as well as internal bracing requirements, etc. Basically the whole picture:) I'm gonna run 900w in 4ohm bridged mono mode for power (think that makes sense...lol). Please help!! Thanks!!

Hey everyone first off I'm new to the site so I would like to say hi. Now I have a 2006 impala and I have a fi bl 12 and I had a fully costom box build that is right at 2 cubic feet and is tuned at 33hz potted through the trunk deck. Now the sound is horrible so atomatically I think it's the box but my buddy has the same size box and same size port that was taken out of a mozda rx8 and it's just sitting in the bak of a Mazda b2200 and we put the sub in that box and it freakin pounds. We took his treo out and put in my box and it has good sound. So my question is why in the world does the fi not sound good? I have had it in boxes that load up in the truck and sound amazing…

I am looking for someone to build a enclosure for my 15" ssa xcon. It needs to be 4 cubic feet tuned to 29hz, i'd like a flared slot port, in a standard rectangular enclosure with dark charcoal carpet, with a rectangular 10" window on the top showing off the insides (which means the insides need to look nice to enough to show off), so what would this run??? any offers? Also to add I would like it to only be 16" in height and no more than 35" in width, and I would like it if you could let me know what the end result on the depth would be?

So I built a 3 cube box (net) tuned to 31 hz for a new, Fi SSD15 with standard options. port area is 34 in^2 sub up, port back. slot port, 11.5h x 3w x 24d box is 13h x 32w x 20d. 11 sq inches of port per cubic foot of the internal enclosure volume. I'm getting great low end, but the output begins to drop sharply at 55hz, being hardly noticeable at 65hz. I did a tone sweep and the output drops off sharply between 55-65hz, picks back up a little bit in the 70's until it begins to roll off around 90hz where i have my crossover set. My old pair of kicker cvr 12's hit this range wonderfully tuned at 40hz in the same car. I think my box and port are the wrong sizes. ive watche…

Ok so I purchased 3 SA-10s off someone on here and should get them within a week. I really wanted to build a box with a port because lots have said SA-10s really shine ported.. but i wasnt so good at figuring out all the math for the port and even worse we sucked at knowing how to build it good.. ( first box ported we made really ) So I have been looking at these circular ports like tubes you add as the port and it seems much simpler to me.. if I understand it correctly and I tried to use 12volt.com to help me figure out port length and size and stuff.. So could someone explain to me how you build a port with the circular tubing or aero whatever it is i guess? is it serio…

So here goes... I have a 98' Mustang GT Convertible. I want bass in it. It Doesn't have to be anything outrageous.(though my Boyfriend said I should put 4 12's in it) I was wondering if yall had any ideas on what i could do? I Don't Really want it in the trunk though ,for one..trunk rattle really annoys me, and I like to see the woofer excursion. Second My trunk is sealed off from the cabin of my car.. My Boyfriend and someone else Mentioned to me That maybe a clam shell would work in the back of my car, If i took the backseat out. I'm not really sure if theirs any other possibilities that could go on..considering it is a convertible. If there is though, I am open for s…
