ok, so im about to start a T-line enclosure for a single 10" and im wondering if i should bother doing a double baffle, or even just double thick mounting plate. the line is only 5 inches wide and 11" tall, so its naturally pretty well braced, and it will probably only be seeing somewhere between 250 and 400 watts. so will a double baffle really help? if not, do you think that i should use a mounting plate to give the screws more wood to bite into? thanks for any input

Well, I'm adding 2 more DP21"s to my Expedition in a month or two. I was planning on doing a clam wall at the B-pillars. But I also started thinking doing a diamond type enclosure would be pretty sweet too. So I'm looking for some opinions on what you think would be louder, first and foremost, and look better. Which ever design I go with will be at the B-pillars, between 35 and 40 cubes, tuned to 32hz. Please explain why you voted the way you did. I have never done either of these designs, so any tips are also appreciated. The subs.

Hey everyone, I have a dilemna. I want to throw a nice pair of 12s (or 15s if I could) in the back of my trailblazer, but I want to save space. I have 2 young boys and I need to haul a lot of stuff sometimes (golf clubs, snowboards, etc). I have a Sundown 2000 that should be delivered in 2 days, so I want to work around it. Quentin from Audibel is going to be building the box for me, thus I'm pretty much looking at SSA or IA subs. I'd love a pair of 15" Xcons, but you do what you gotta do. I figure I have a few options. Either a box up against the back seat(rear-firing?), or a false floor(firing up). I'm open to suggestions. For the box against the back seat I was leani…

I have two alpine type r 12's and i want to build a crx-style box for them. This is the design i came up with using the max dimensions i can inside my vehicle. I really can't seem to get the tuning quite right, and it says its about 30hz, but what is the ideal frequency to tune to for daily driving? Also any helpful hints to getting this box to stay together? I blew the port off the screws in my bandpass like two weeks ago. EDIT: And yes the subs are going to go on the top.

I hope there are a lot of wall or has-been wall users out there that can contribute to this thread. I'd like to see some suggestions for wall users on increasing their spl potential. I am about to seal my wall up soon so after i do, won't be too much more moddin possible in that area of the car. I'm lookin for 155s hopefully. I'm wanting to stay in Modified 3 in MECA and i am assuming they'll qualify me for that class... I have a scion tc with a wall behind the b pillar about 5 inches back. I will be using 1 60A fuse for each of my 2 3500ds. I am wide open to suggestions to get louder.... I have yet to meter myself the MECA way but in the driver kick i did 151.7 clip-fre…

I remember playing around with making boxes and stuff and had some different software. I had somebody guide me through it before, I had a box deign for my other truck. But with it, I have to make some decent modifications to it to put a box in it. With my Jeep I can just design a box, go pick up the stuff, make it and drop it in. I think now that I can do that, I will actually pay more attention to how to do a box, have more interest in it. I was recommended subs up port up on the drivers side, not sure if it will fit or not. The max exterior size the box can be is 41.5"w, 16.5"d,21"t... I'd like to design a box myself but obliviously get some help with it. I think if I …

I've posted this on some other places and I'm trying to get some feedback..I've ran into a dilemma. I don't know if I should carpet my door panels or if I should just go ahead and paint them. I have quite a bit of black carpet lying around and I think paint wouldn't be as durable since door panels can flex from every day use and it's kind of tedious prepping plastic for paint. Four 6.5's in each door. passenger side:

Just starting my build but I need to know about the box. Ive seen sub up port back sub forward port forward, sub up port up. I assume any combo will work but I want to verify. I want to do sub forward port up. IT would be the same as port forward but the port opening would be up instead of forward. So I guess it would sort of be like an L. Thats the best way I can explain. I need the port firing where the rear deck would be and the sub facing forward. The back of the back seat is being removed and replaced with the box. The sub will face forward in the middle, and on both sides the MDF will be foamed and clothed so two (though small) people can fit in the back seat! I don…

Price completly aside, how much better sound quality would you get with door pods vs components in a fully deadened door? I have a Crown Vic and my main goal is to get the best possible sound out of the components I'm gonna be getting. I'm going with the Image Dynamics XS series components. If I get them in the doors I'm gonna go with stock size 5x7s(XS-57). If I do the pods I'll go with the 6.5s(XS-65). Again my main goal is the sound quality of the comps so if the door pods sound just slightly better, than I'll pass. If the difference is dramatic though, its something I'm really gonna take a look at. I know there are a lot of variables involved in anything like this s…

Ok I am getting ready to build my wall and was wondering what size bandpass box and port would be required for 3 solox 12's running off of 3 crunch GP3000dpros? Its going in a smaller car so that is why I am using 12's. tuning would be for everyday listening.

Well ive decided since i still have a week or two before i can start building my box, im going to design a ported box instead of a sealed box for my single ss rl-p 18. im going to stick with the suggested size and tuning(5cubes, 27hz) but i want to use flared aero ports. So here are some questions. 1) what diameter port should i buy and how many?( i kind of want two for the looks, but if ones better, let me know) 2) do you measure the flare of the port when tuning it? 3) were is a good place to buy them? thanks for the help!

any1 familar w/ my make/model please help. I already have tons of flex in the frame all around the sunroof but esp. the front part of it, I am about to be installing more then double the power + batts + 0 gauge so I am concerned. I def. cant even listen to the music up with the sunroof open, hell I can't even open up the sun shade on it when the system is on blast w/out fearing a glass shower, so I have no problem doing something extreme to fix this problem or at least help with it. If shizzzon reads this I am very interested what you did or are planning to do with your scions sunroof. Thanks in advance for any suggestios or thoughts on this. - anyone who has any advice…

snoopdan uses pink panther insulation to seal around his box so it acts like a wall in his cherokee. I just got done building my box in my scion tc with 4 15s and i need to seal around it so it can act like a wall. I was gonna use pink panther but have 2nd thoughts because it states that it's purely a thermal barrier, not acoustic barrier. Is there any methods u guys use or can persuade me with facts as to continue to go with pink panther insulation or is there a better method?

I'm thinking about making a box for some older Rockford RFP1408's that I have, they are 200 watts RMS each, the only wood I have is a 30"x60" sheet of 1" MDF and another smaller sheet of 3/4" MDF. So, I'm gonna use the 1" sheet for most of the box, and the small 3/4" sheet for the front. 1.25 Cubic feet 1" x 11" port tuned to 33hz What do you think?

Well, here we go, I've created this in an attempt to make a tool that can help take the guess work out of all the difficult to figure on a calculator values we constantly figure for box building. I think this is a decent tool and that it could work for alot of us. I'm putting it out here for all to try and give it some real world tests. Let me know if you guys find anything wrong with the sheet just let me know I'll do my best to fix it. So here ya go, we'll try this link out first just copy/paste: =http://www.mediafire.com/file/ugzuqj4mzjw/Box Calculator.xls=
