i switched to the Pap Moabs 2-15" and switched to a set of batterys 8v & 6v tied in sieres do a 14.97v and im not sure if it was the batterys or the subs that made the differance so im going to put the 2-15" SoundStream back in the boxx and see if that is the cause of the 2db drop or the batterys ? i need a bigg@ss battery charger...too cook the batterys to 20v and try agine !!! any input is welcome the guy grinning to the left in the background is my friend BEN we put his 2-15" Mtx 9500 subs in my old boxx & he beat be with my own boxx by 1.6db / 150.6db the boxx was built for street beat @ 35Hz his peek was 46Hz

Hello, I am looking for some help on whether I should do a sealed box, ported or slotted enclosure for my SA-8 V.2 SPL Dual 2OHM. For now, I'm putting a Sony Xplod XM-GTR2022 amp on it. Which runs 500RMS when bridged. I want to build the box slotted preferably, unless you guys give me enough reason to just do a sealed box if its going to be a better setup. If anyone out there already has some plans for a box they have built for their SA-8 V2, shoot them over to me! I'm open to pretty much anything right now. Im putting this sub in a Kia Forte Koup. well guys i am confused here and i can't figure it out does five 3 inch ports equal to one 15 inch as far as port area????? i know it is simple but i need to make sure for my design.....or also does two 6 inch ports equal one 12 inch port?????? well guy some feedback would help me out a lot.

W'sup guys, i'd like a little assistance on my box build. I'm doing revisions 2 my blowthrough in my 99' s-10 and need help on port size. My box will consist of 2 12" orion hcca's and will be 14.5" tall, 43" wide, and i'm not sure as 2 how much depth i'll need. I'm still in the process of learning how 2 calculate port size so assistance with this will be greatly appreciated. I currently have a blowthrough with a bandpass box formulated from Pete at hexibase. I've been trying 2 get him 2 help me construct a ported box but he's busy as hell and i've been trying 2 contact him for like 2 months with no reply. Can u guys possibly assist me? Thx alot.

I'm thinking about doing something that I've only see Steve Meade do, on a much larger scale. I want to build a small setup to just listen to music in the garage with. I have a cheap set of Pyle component speakers that I can use.. I'd like to build a ported enclosure like this. They would be ran off of a really old 100 watt 2 channel Pyramid amplifier. I do not plan on adding a subwoofer to the setup, just this set of components. Since this old amp doesn't have any sort of SSF, HPF, or LPF, it's playing a full range. I will have a crossover for the tweeter, but the woofer will be seeing even subsonic frequencies. I'm thinking about using 1" PVC for a port tuned around 40h…

Hey, I have a whole trunk to fill on a Impala 1972. I plan on either getting (4) 12 BTL or (2) 15 BTL. What do you guys suggest for this trunk and setup? I have seen 4 12s in a straight box going across but dont know if these require more space. Maybe have two on either side in an arrow up formation, speakers facing the rear trunk. ( ^ ). I plan to build it square ported and have an appeal once done.

As per title lads, with my equipment coming soon I wanna go with the loudest design possible, will be using 2 AA Mayhems with 2 Hifonics 2607D's to power them, have a nice bit of room to play around with (say a max of 25-30cuftexternal) Will I go flat wall Port up top?? Flat wall port drivers wide?? Clam?? Small Tunnel?? I'm not really pushed about numbers as I want this to rattle people (will tune to maybe 30-32hz) All suggestions welcome guys

Hello world, after much research and consideration I have finally decided to become an SSA consumer, I plan on buying a DCON series 15in to run with an Alpine MRP-M650. I plan on designing and building a custom ported enclosure for the sub, and this yields the question, what is the recommended volume for said enclosure? I know the SSA Store gives recommended box dimensions, and I have seen them for the DCON 12, but the fields are empty for the 15 D: Any help is appreciated. My guess would be somewhere around 3-4 cubes? But it's my first build so I feel like I need some reassurance. Thanks

Hey, I ran into a little problem putting in my door speakers. They're going in a 1999 honda Civic 4dr. It's hard to explain, but i has pics! Anyways, with this honda the speaker doesn't mount directly to the door, but to the door panel....nvm just ckech the pics out: As you can see, the holes where the door panel screws in is blocking how i would otherwise mount the speaker to the door and bring out of the door with MDF rings (need to come out about an 1"). Any suggestions? It seems like I'd have to cut off two of the three mounting place for screws to fit the speaker, but i'm hesitant to do that lol

2 BTL 12's. The outside dims of the box are 17" tall x 24.75" deep x 33.5 wide. I am going to use a 8"pvc pipe and make my own flares but need help on length for 33htz tuning. Also with it being an 8 inch pipe do I have to have 8 inches from the back of the box to the end of the pipe? Also how long should the pipe be to be 33htz? Please help me with this.

Alright guys here it goes... Trial 2! for my woofer box.... My current design is 31.5w, 22d and 16.5t. I don't remember the wood thickness but I found a scratch paper and I only made my box 3.5cuFt... Which is the smallest they recommend for a level 5 15". Why I did that? I have no bloody idea.... Anyway I re measured and I can add a little more to the box -- roughly 2.25 inches on top, and 7.5 inches on width. I would like to try and reduce the dept the most I can because as of right now I cannot fit more than one battery back there. So I was looking at pics of banginAltima's Altima and noticed the external aero ports were facing into the car thru the folded down rear seats. I'm building a box for 2 Fully Loaded 15" BL's and was wondering if I can do something similar. However, theres a catch to my set up. I have a 88' Grand Marquis that has a solid, non-folding rear seat. So I was wondering if I could make custom external aero ports thru my rear deck between the 2 6X9's. Would that have the same effect as it did in Altima's car? He gained about 4Db when he re-designed the box and port set-up. Or am I just being unrealistic?

I have a 1990 lincoln towncar, and i need help deciding on where the sub and port should go. I had my ss rl-p18 in there, sub/port back, but i didnt like that. I cant put the sub forward because ltc trunks are like pits with no clear passage to the cab if you get what im saying. Thanks

I have 4 15's I need to fit in my Altima! Kinda a wierd lineup but I got screamin deals so oh well! I need some advice on how to run everything! I have 2 Phoenix Golds XS2500's and a PPI PC2150. Heres my subs 2 15 inch JL Audio W-6's and 1 15-inchPBX PowerBass XSDv.2 and 1 Power Acoustik 15-inch FUBAR 15W(1000w RMS ones) This is how I was gonna set it up but need help! I was gonna run an XS2500 bridged to 2Ohm to the PBX and FUBAR!(1 to each bridged) than run the PPI to the 2 JL's.... What do you think? I have a cap too a phoenix Gold XSC1o at 1.0 farad but I know I'll have to either get another alternator put in or a Optima Battery! Which should I do? I havent hooked it …

Building a new box for 1 15". Was gunna make it an abnormal shape as opposed to the everyday cube. I've heard that less parallel sides results in less standing waves, but I don't think it would be too noticeable in car audio. Anyway my point is wanting opinion on the ideal shape of a box. A buddy of mine wants me to design and build him a downfire box for his ext cab ranger. My question is how much is the minimal amount of distance you should leave between the sub baffle and the floor?

currently running a huge box with a fi q18 takes up the entire back seat of my truck. i love the output for the power i have and the low tuning, but it needs to come out for a carseat. i have a pair of tangband w8-740p's, single 4ohm 150wrms 8's. im thinking about building a box 1.75cu tuned to 39hz with 26.25sq of port , trying to get the most output possible. not sure how to design the box was thinking about trying a loaded horn thing like thumpper did with the icons. anyone with exsperience with these speakers or small truck boxes any imput of how i can get the most out of these 8's would be great. vehicle is 99 dakota x-cab.

Im trying to make an enclosure for a single sa 12 but the only wood they sell out here is 18 mm thick mdf, I'm wondering how to compensate this into my cut sizes for the box I wanna build I wanna do 15 h x 17d x 22w with the port being 2" wide and tuned to 32 hertz any suggestions?

so i just wired down my fi q 15 to 1 ohm.. and it hits every note really hard.. and i mean really hard.. but it doesnt sound to clean.. its in a sealed box 2.3 cf could it be because the ohm is set to low? should i have left it at 4 ohms?

Sorry for all the questions lately, but i'm getting very close to having my box complete, and want everything to be right. So, has anyone used bed liner for their boxes? I really like the look of it, and i really dont like the look of carpet (it's allright i guess, it just seems like everyone has it). im about to trade for 2 SSD 18's just to mess with for a bit. so im planning on running about 11.5 cu ft at 35 hz, but gonna make interchangable ports to play with different frequencies. so should i port it forward, or up. subs are gonna be facing forward in a 01 dodge ram ex cab BTW

THe Powermaster 2400 or 2700 Kinetik HC2000 Tsunami/Yellowtop (not really looking at this option just put it here) NSB 90 Stinger 1000 (their newer line) Just looking for suggestions. My budget for battery would like to be less than 200 if used or 250 or less new.
