I am looking for someone in the Portland area to build a box for me. I am very capable but don't have the tools at the moment. I have the design. It a pwk. For 2 12's with a 6" aero. I don't trust the dealers out here, plus they'd want too much $$$.

I'm trying to figure out my next box. The program I'm using is tells me that my port will be 5Tx10Wx17.5D. Now how much of an effect will it have if I was to change the opening to 3.5Tx11.5Wx17.5D?? I'm looking to tune it to 34Hz. Thx from the help.

I need to know how many tubes I would need and what length and what diameter opening to reach like 30hz in 3 cubes... with at least 36-48 square inches of port. And I also need to know the displacement of these I can't seem to figure it out.

I came across a thread on here where a guy cut slices into one side of a sheet of MDF and then he bent it into a tube! I can no longer find it and i wanted to get a better look at it because i was thinking of using this technique! Does anyone remember where this is? or does anyone remember seeing this? Please post a link to this thread! It would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!! <<<<HAHAHA

I'm thinking about doing something that I've only see Steve Meade do, on a much larger scale. I want to build a small setup to just listen to music in the garage with. I have a cheap set of Pyle component speakers that I can use.. I'd like to build a ported enclosure like this. They would be ran off of a really old 100 watt 2 channel Pyramid amplifier. I do not plan on adding a subwoofer to the setup, just this set of components. Since this old amp doesn't have any sort of SSF, HPF, or LPF, it's playing a full range. I will have a crossover for the tweeter, but the woofer will be seeing even subsonic frequencies. I'm thinking about using 1" PVC for a port tuned around 40h…

I just picked up a NIB sw9122 and all that was in the box was 1 page of the owners manual and the mounting hardware. So I need to know what works good for a ported enclosure? How many cubes, freq., and port area? It will be running off a Audio Art 100hc, so in the neighborhood of 1000W. I am thinking somewhere 2-2.25^3 ported to 32hz but not sure on port area, seems this sub will move a lot of air.

A buddy of mine wants me to build him a subwoofer box for two 12's in his Ford Ranger Edge. Now he is taking out all of his rear seats which gives me a good chunk of space to work with. I know how to build and design an enclosure, all i really need to know is subwoofer/port orientation. Havent made an enclosure for a truck like this and I dont have the time to build multiple enclosures and test them all out so I was hoping this could save me some time. -Mike

Well, here we go, I've created this in an attempt to make a tool that can help take the guess work out of all the difficult to figure on a calculator values we constantly figure for box building. I think this is a decent tool and that it could work for alot of us. I'm putting it out here for all to try and give it some real world tests. Let me know if you guys find anything wrong with the sheet just let me know I'll do my best to fix it. So here ya go, we'll try this link out first just copy/paste: =http://www.mediafire.com/file/ugzuqj4mzjw/Box Calculator.xls=

Here is an idea i am throwing around for my 99 neon... 5.25 component set up front for the hi/hi-mids have 6x9 holes in the rear deck, but will enlarge them slightly to encompass 8"(7.25 cutout) midbass drivers 50-200 hz response.. then have 2 12's in aported box in the trunk Is this a sound design to put the midbass on the rear deck?? I have read numerous things about running mono for the rears/keep away from highs back there cuz it moves the center image backwards types of things... Also is this going to be terrible placement for the "free air" midbass speakers on the rear deck having their back wave interfering with the sub output... (really the rear deck is the only p…

Hey fellas. What's going on? Alright, heres the deal. I picked up another CVR, so I am now in the process of deciding what I want to do with the new box for the 2 CVRs. This setup is going to be a pure daily driver, no competing or anything. I listen to all rap or hip-hop. Now, I emailed Kicker and asked what they thought the best daily driver box would be and they sent me some specs that ended up being tuned to around 40 hz. I thought 40 hz is pretty high for daily driver tuning. I PM'd Polecat and he said that 40 hz would be good and that I wouldn't lose much low end and that it would get loud and sound musically good. My current box for my single CVR is 34 hz and I am …

I am going to start on this project very soon so I thought I'd start planning right now.. Here is what I wanted to do.. I did not want to sacrifice my whole cargo area so I got my sub box made to take up only half of the whole cargo space so I can have half of the space to store things or whatever.. And then I realized that I have no place to mount my kicker 2500.1 which is a fairly large amp so I decided that I would want to build a false floor with plexiglass on the other half of the cargo space in front of my subwoofer box.. (as of now my amp is sitting on my rear seat folded down (i definitely do not like it at all and I do not want to mount my amp on the sub box as …

I plan on walling off my 00 Grand Am soon with 2 18XXXs (05 model) and I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I have a couple measurements... 41w x 34d x 34h That's the external (gross) measurements. I plan on tuning it around 30hz. I was also wondering where to put the port. This will be my semi daily driver (I have 2 vehicles), and I am not looking to hit any high numbers. I want this thing to get loud and low. Also any kind of tips/pictures/diagrams/explanations/ect. for a wall and dancefloor would be greatly appreciated. And yes, I have put some effort into this by reaching out and contacting many people so please do not respond in here if I have already …

Alright, well, for a build I am going to be doing I can choose between 2 4" aeroports, or 1 6" aeroport. When I put the 6" into WinISD it tells me a length of 23.25" is needed for my tune. And when I enter 2 4" ports it tells me I need a port length of 21.5". Now, is that a combined length between the two ports? Or does each one need to be 21.5" ?? Thanks for your help.

I found a formula that seems to work at http://www.caraudio911.com/ under designing a ported box. But I was wondering why on step four they say to subtract half the port width from the port lenght to get your physical port lenght? When I made my box I dont think that I did this so I may be building a new one if this is important. I was also wondering if this formula works or has been used by anyone here?
