Today im going to build my 1st box for the fully loaded fi bl 12in. Im going to be using 3/4in thick mdf fiber board. Would i have to use braces to hold the box, its just one 12in, and also i have a Sundown sae 1200d amp. Is it capable of producing 1500watts rms. What would you have to adjust the amp to to have a good, loud sound? I have a Stinger amp kit 0 gague, and extra 25 feet of 0 gauge wire for the big # upgrade, and i also have a kinetic battery the khc 1600. Just recentley my friend got his system installed. He has the same equipment as i do, but he has the FI Q. Let me tell you, it is LOUD AS HELL, For just one 12inch... omg i could barely breath. To be honest i…

Cabin volume vs box volume. when building a wall do think the box should have more volume than the cabin? Spl should be louder in the smaller of the 2 right.

So I am designing a new enclosure and this one will have a center port. I have concerns with my port width when it reaches the rear of the enclosure. This is for 2-Zcon 12's,SAZ3500 power, currently box will be at a net volume roughly 7.8 cubes tuned at 32 the distance from the port wall to the flare is 4.33 inches if you cant read the photo Since it is in the center do I need to maintain the same width(in my case 6.5inches)? Is there a rule of thumb for this? Here is a pic of what I currently have designed.

OK i need to run through and make a check with yall to see if my demisions are rgith for this box and its ports ok the box has 4.6 cuft and it will have 2 re sx 12's each displaces .16 cuft and a port that displaces .24 cuft so total displacement = .56cuft which gives the box roughly 4 cuft so i have the port 15w2H14L = 33hz does this sound ok

So I just got my SAZ-1200D and Diamond Audio TDX 10D4s wired up. The box I built is 2.5 ft^3 (after displacement), tuned to 33hz. Now the question is: If I build a larger box but keep the tuning freq the same, would the subs sound the same? Hit lower? This setup bangs for 2 10's in the 30-40 range, but doesn't quite hit the super lows that great.

Ok i'll prolly do this some time this week or next week. But basicly to put that port in the deck like you guys where saying i would just have to find the total Cu. ft of the whole box. And plug my information into this handy dandy online calculator. http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 and i should be fine right? not tuning this thing is gonna be hard as hell.lol I already know the length is gonna be like 40in long. but i can make it smaller if need be. And i'm gonna guess and say about 17cu ft. only thing is since its a daily driver and i want to use it for comps, how can i tune it? I mean 45 sounds like a good start, but for daily i dont want it that high, …

Hi i'm starting a build, and I'm not sure if I'm going to need to upgrade my electrical system in my truck at all. I was hoping someone could tell me whether or not I should do so or not. I'm going to be installing an FI Q12" running probably an Audio Pipe 1500 in a box tuned to around 32~34 Hz. Installed in the back seat of a 1994 Ford Ranger with bone stock everything. Except a Clarion FZ409 Head unit. Which i'm still adjusting to. lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Im looking to take the backseat out of my jeep wrangler and replace it with a fairly large box for this woofer. iv built some smaller sealed boxes and they have all come out fine but this will be my first time building a vented box any advice that you can share would be amazing and i thank you in advance. As far as the sub goes these are the specs that FI gives for it, i measured out my jeep and got some measurements that would work, i came up with a width of 32" a height of 16"(was planning on h…

  15. Hi, I've read everywhere I could, but I get very different informations!!! My enclosure is about 4 ft3 and has a round 5.6"(diameter) PVC port; port length is 14". It sounds good, but I 've read that port area should be much bigger : 4 (ft3) * 15 = 60 sq inches. And my port is far from that. I don't really know the actual tuning, but I would like it to be around 30-32 hz. Do I have enough port area ? Or enough length? Enough port ? Please, help me !!!

hi everyone, I'm posting yet another topic to see if I can get any more excellent advice. In a previous post I stated that I was gonna build my own box. I know I want a sealed box. My goal is a real flat response. In my literature for my subs (Phoenix Gold titanium elite) they list 2 different recommendations for sealed boxes they are as follows: {Musical: Vb 1.6, F3 33 Hz} {SPL: Vb 1.0, F3 36Hz} My question to you guys is, Since I have 2 subs, What would be the outcome of making 1 box to musical specs and the other to the SPL spec. The speaker placement will be under the rear deck lid with subs facing the rear of the car. Car being my Chrysler 300. The box will be made…

  18. I'm posting this up again....... THIS time heavily revised, it now has slot port calculations, and CUT SHEETS! This EXCEL based box calculator will take your enclosure size, woofer displacement, the wood thickness you plan on using and the frequency you wish to tune it to and gives you the GROSS enclosure size, dimensions (Including CUSTOM dimensions in which you input two of the OUTSIDE measurements and it gives you the last one.) PLUS gives you the cutout sizes for each panel of the enclosure you just asked for....... I'm putting it out for real world testing to be sure the math is good and the cuts are helpful......... Let me know ASAP what you think and what proble…

what would you guys prefer to use to smooth out the corners inside a box, putty or bondo, (and which brand) I might grab some resin and hardener for my RL-p box, I want it perfect before the RL-p goes in, I shold probably do some more internal bracing to make it as stiff as possible to preserve as mush SQ as possible

So I have a 2007 silverado crew cab and want to put 1 12" Fi BL with all the upgrades and a sundown 1200d in there. My deminsions for what I have room for are 55"long x 15"deep x 4.5" tall at the back and 8" at the front of the seat to the floor. In the middle its 6.5" Im going to probably lift the seat about 1/2" as thats how much thread I have to work with and theres no seat raising brackets yet for my truck. Im looking to do the 12" in a downfire ported box Can someone tell me if this would work or not? My sub would be 6.5" deep and my depth of the box is Im thinking going to be right about that.
