I have a 98 S10 single cab truck. just bought 2 10" sony xplods. model xs-gtx100lw. along with a sony xplod 800w amp to push them. I, however, can not find how much cubic feet the speakers need. and I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out with getting the best and most sound possible out of these speakers. I am going tomorrow to get the wood to start building a box. I am 6 ft tall so room is kind of an issue with scooting the seat up.

Okay, I will be finished up my box tonight and had a few questions before I close it all up and get it hooked up. *I've seen online that it says to put weatherstripping around the hole for the sub before putting the sub in the box? This true? *And I've seen people use resin on the inside or their boxes to help the structure? This true aswell? Thanks for the help and thanks to everyone that has helped throughout my first build!!

Would there be any negative effects from running all-thread though the back of my box directly into the cab of my truck. The back wall of my truck is already threaded and I could strongly secure the box this way. But Im wondering over time will I get leaks or put to much stress on the MDF. I will be using 1in MDF more than likely. I would seal it and also use a 1/2in rubber mat between the box and back wall and floor to help with sound deadening and vibration. I also will be using the back seat metal bracket to mount the floor to, I can also run allthread through box and floor threaded directly to the metal brackets. This will be a semi wall and will probably make beauty …

  16. Hello all. I was hoping to get some advice from the SSA community. I have a 2009 Sierra Ext Cab. Currently for substage i am running a 18" Zcon and AQ2200d. The box is 6.6cu ft. net @ 28hz. with 112sq in port area. Sub is firing forward behind drivers seat, port is up. The whole truck has been deadened other than the roof (not too much flex). Pics can be seen im my build thread. Since the pics i have added the AQ2200d and changed the tuning from 34hz to 28hz with a port extension. (the port now fires up from the top front instead of the top back) Changing the tuning really helped with my lows but its still not quite where i want it to be volume wise. Some songs that slamm…

Hello, I have a box designed and it currently has 4.6 cubic feet net internal volume after wall thickness/drivers/bracing. I would like to port this box and the port face is 13.5hx4w. What length would the port need to be to tune the box to 33hz and 35hz? Also what would the lenght need to be if the port face was 13.5hx4.5w? Thanks

Hey guys, so my dad really wants an Image Dynamics 12 for Father's Day and I want to build him a box for it. It's going in a Honda CRX, and I want to try and load it off the rear hatch. I just need a simple sealed design and cut sheet. He's got 35"s between the two shock mount plastic panels and 28" from the open storage box to the back so space isn't an issue whatsoever, especially for a sealed box. Only thing important is that I want it fairly close to the 35" across so I can mount it right behind the storage tray angled back to the hatch class. Any help? Thanks a lot guys, and here are all parameters you might need http://www.imagedynamicsusa.net/files/59633398.pdf

How much will having a bend in a round port affect tuning & sound? Not talkin like 90's, maybe a 30-45 at most. Is there a way to compensate for it w/ length or something or just trial & error? Bigger port maybe? ie 5" port 30 deg bend compared to 3" port with same bend?

  21. box dimensions 38 * 13 * 15.98= 7894.12 in³ = 4.56835 ft³ tuned to 32hz Bracing with 1 in dowel rod up/down r=.5 h=15.95 3.142 * .25 * 15.94 = 12.5 in³ = 0.007233 ft³ front/back r=.5 h 12.97 3.142 * .25* 12.97 = 10.188 in³ = 0.005895 ft³ probably two of these.. perpendicular or parallel so this leaves either 4.553884 for parallel or 4.555222 for perpendicular, up/down and front/back plus sub displacement of .19 4.363884 parallel.......... and for port area, with 57.25 in² slotted, ~50% for aero is 28.625 in² so a 6in aero port will be about 13.62 in long with the flare, with 28.26 in² without. round is also about 55% more efficient than slot so.. i think all my math …

  22. I recently bought 2 RE AUDIO SXX 12" woofers and plan to build the enclosure (vented) by myself (first time in my life). Since the manufactorer's web site only provides a box calculator for one woofer, can somebody kindly give me some advice on dual woofer enclosure and port measurement? In order for the box to fit in the trunck, the size constraints are: Length < 35", Height < 16.5". I prefer SQ over SPL and hope the bass hit as hard as they can. Thanks so much! The T/S parameters are listed below and more info. can be found on http://www.reaudio.com/woofers.php#goto_sxx Qes: 0.32 (Electrical Q value) Qms: 4.4 (Mechanical Q value) Qts: 0.30 (Total Speaker Q value)…

  23. Big dilemma, trunk car im working with. I have 7.445 Cu Ft internal area for use if i fire up but the box will be removabable so i can grab my spare tire if i need to. Will up firing in a trunk lose me alot of spl or clarity? Which direction should i fire the port if im making this setup. Also for two RE SX 15's how much port area should be used? The port area is a very limiting factor as its robbing the little amount of area i have. The other way i can do is rear firing but i must make a two piece box to fit it in the trunk. The subs would only be 2 inches from the rear lid of the trunk. I gain .2 cu ft from switching but the amount of work would be substantial and i wou…
