I decided to temporarily put in one of my SE12's in at 2ohms on my T3002 in mono mode. Giving it approx. 800 watts. The box is 2 cubes after all displacement. For the port I doulble up a pc of 3/4" MDF and glued a pc of 4" pvc pipe through 1 layer and router a 1/2" radius on the top layer to make a homemade aeroport. The length overall of this port is 13". I don't believe I am right in thinking the tuning is at 32. Can someone double check me on this. Also am thinking about shortening the lenght of the port to get about a 35 hz tuning. This is just a temporary daily box for me to have something till it warms up. But I listen to all kinds of music so I needed some beat in …

I bought a sono tube today for a port for my ssd15 that should be coming in about a week or so. The tube measures about 7.5" diameter. I was planning to make a 4 cuft box tuned to about 28hz or so. But is there any way to curve the tu e to make it a right angle? Lol... idt it will fit inside my box without a curve. And i cant get any fiberglass or resin so what should i do to the cardboard tube to make it hard enough for the port? Could i put poly on it then paint it? Or like any good ideas? And since its not quite 8" tube should i just make a 3.5 or 3 cuft box? And do i need double baffel or should single be strong enough for a ssd15? On 1000rms... please any help will b…

I have two Sony explode 10's I got last year; I have them in 1.3cuft each sealed; I am in the process of moving, all the big tools are in storage, so I can't build a new box. I have some scrap wood laying around, and I want to knock out a wall of the box and combine it with another slightly smaller enclosure and port it; I hate scrapping it together, but these are my killing time subs, I just play with them to try ideas; anybody have any tips on making junk subs drop lower? I am not after a ton of output, it's for a computer speaker setup; just want real low extension. I am looking to get it tuned to 24hz, with -plenty- of port; does anyone have any idea what kind of air…

Alright guys, I've had these Bravox 3 ways for a while now. My wife didn't want to tear into the van until the Atlas's had died and they're on the way out. The front passenger mid has been giving the "Death Rattle" from time to time and it's getting worse, so my wife is breaking down and wanting me to begin getting the design, supplies and such together to be ready to make a quick change and build for the new set. That being said, I have some idea's about how I am going to do it, but I wanted to run it by the great minds here and see if there's a better way to go about it. First of all, here's a picture of the inside of the van to give you an idea of what I have to wor…

Ok so since i have a trunk, and its a luxury car all of the bass is staying int he trunk. I cut a hole in the panel in the back and put a gril over it, and its loud enough in the cab, but i got and and listened to it yesterday and my treble is still killing my bass, i mean when you get out you can hear it but not like you should. I went back to the trunk and i could feel a nice breeze of air exscaping through the cracks. What to do, i was thinking of either cutting a bigger hole taking off the whole panel or taking out the back seat well trying to.

so here is my problem.. Ive never sound deadened a floor of a car but i have done everything else... so i pulled up out my seats and my carpet today so i can get started. well i noticed there's a rubber like matt and Styrofoam stuck to the floor should i try and pull this all up or am i gonna have a sticky mess?. im wondering if putting sound deadener on top of the matt would even do anything beneficial. should i just do the bare metal areas? I have 50 sq ft to put in on the floor and firewall. just trying to kill some road noise. any help is appreciated thanks a lot

Sorry for another question (just taking advantage of my day off). I just finished up damping my door panels, the sheet metal, framing, and plastic panels,as well as the rear hatch with eDead 120 and Damplifier Pro. Probably have used about >80 ft^3 so far. I am doing my entire roof and going to do the floor soon too but I am having trouble deciding what to do next. I keep reading very different theories about what to do, whether to use closed cell foams or open cell foams and where to use them. Some of you have recommended websites to buy different products but just need to know how much and what to buy. I have a lot of room in my doors between the interior plast…

Okay I am looking for some help in this forum because I am loosing hair over this. I currently have a system in my ride and it is progress though. Eclipse CD 5030 ARC AUDIO KS 300.2 MOREL DOTECH OVATION 6 ARC AUDIO KS 500.1 MINI DIAMOND AUDIO D3 15 Now first things first the KS 300.2 is powering the components at 180 x 2 @ 4 ohms The KS 500.1 Mini [500 x 1 @ 2 ohm] is powering the Diamond Audio D3 15 [1.75 sealed enclosure]. Anyways looking to swap out the Diamond Audio D3 for a Fi Audio sub most likely the SSD 15. I was told to get a single dual 1 ohm sub and wire it in series to make it a 2 ohm sub. Anyways I have a pair of Selenium 6 Midwoofers that are 8 ohm and mo…

The title says it all. How much space should I have between my port and rear wall? My port will have a 9,5" x 20.5" surface area, the enclosure is 20 cu.ft., I will be using two Fi Q 18" powered by a Hifonics XX Colossus II amplifier that will deliver about 3000W rms. The reason I ask is that I don't have enough room for the tuning I want, so I want to make it as close to the intended tuning as possible. I was thinking that 8" will be enough if I make the end flared and the wall "pointy" to reduce turbulence. Would this be enough? Picture of how I was thinking about making the enclosure:

I sm trying to get my trunk ready for everything but before I start deadening I need to decide what to do with my spare tire well. I know I cant leave everything in there cuz it will vibrate like a mother. But if I take everything out there is just a big hole so what can I do to cover this that won't cause any noise?

Like the title says, im building a new speakerbag. The fun of causing mischief at the mall and walmart n stuff has disappeared, I want this one for something easily movable, for bragging rights, but mostly as my room system. The backpack aspect makes it more fun =) I am purchasing 12 bazooka OEM 5" subwoofer/midbass drivers, and three 20wrms x2ch Class T amps. I have my two previous batteries (12v Motorcyle battery, 12.5v modem battery) to power the amps, they run on 12v. I have four 5.25" mid/highs speakers already, and will add foam baffles to finish those off If i can work them in. I'm thinking (8) 5's isobaric, sealed, w/ polyfill, in .5cuft. I'm not really looking f…

Knuconceptz 'Knucar' This guy might have an ssa membership, idk, but has anyone seen this? Everyone says 45 degree angles help airflow, so what would a perfectly round one do? It'd be near impossible to tune if you wanted to port, but if you could, would it actually work? Trust me, i'm not thinking of doing this because i can't make a sphere out of play-dough, just curiousity here.

SO I am finally looking to replace my factory starting battery and I am looking at a couple different options. THe Powermaster 2400 or 2700 Kinetik HC2000 Tsunami/Yellowtop (not really looking at this option just put it here) NSB 90 Stinger 1000 (their newer line) Just looking for suggestions. My budget for battery would like to be less than 200 if used or 250 or less new.

I'm looking to build a nice ported box for my L7 and make it loud. Problem is I really don't know much about ported boxes or the tricks to making a good SPL box. Kicker reccomends between 1.75 and 3.25 cu ft ported, but no tuning frequencys. The box will be sitting in the back seat of my 1990 extended cab Silverado. What would be differences between a round port and slot port, and what would be an optimal Frequency to tune it at. thanks for any advice, hopefully I can pull my ol' truck into s comp and put up some decent numbers

Hi All, Here is what ive learned form messing around with my Term-Lab and my Daily tuned box (2.5 cuft with 41 sq of port tuned to 34 hz wave guides and double kerfed port). i have learned that the box is loudest firing towards the drivers side of the trunk completely sideways like this: Im hitting a 146.7 outlaw doing this at 36 hz. Ive also tried flipping the box upside down and the port and sub position flipped and it doesnt matter on the meter which way it goes. now im thinking a 40-42 hz tune with aero ports, possibly 2 6" ones. now i want to hit a 150 with this outlaw, i believe it would be simple if i tuned the box higher and get some more control over the high…

hey, im thinking about building a pretty loud setup with just 1 bl 10. its gonna be for competition use only, just for the hell of it lol. its already in a good daily box...but i kinda want to build a burp box since i have 3/4 of a sheet of mdf laying around...im just kinda lost at what to tune it to. ik im supposed to tune high, but how high? i have no idea of what my car peaks at tho, since i dont have anybody around here that uses a termlab. i am using a hifonics 1610d and will b running at 2 ohms on it so about 1200 watts is what the amp puts out. it will be a box for competitions only, so if anybody has any ideaso of what to tune it to that would be great. also, its …
