Im designing a new box for the new mag whenever it comes out and im going to stick my current sub in it for now (old 10" circle solo baric). I currently have it all figured out for 1.68 cubic feet. After the sub and port displacement that gives me the recommended 1.5 cubic feet with a 4 inch pvc port that is 19.12 inches long for a tuning of 32hz. Now my problem is that my box isnt long enough (20") for that lenght of port. Could I use 2 2 inch pvc ports each 9.55" to get the same tuning of 32hz? This will be going in my 05 king cab frontier so thats why im kinda limited on space. Also im thinking of putting the sub towards front of vehicle and port up, any advice t…

just bought a 18'' fi bl dual 1 ohm im runnin 2 ohm 2 a 1200.1 jbl.. im installing it in a 96 yukon..4dr. how should i build the box , which way should the sub face ..and port...how many cb ft...thanks..

Hi, Been out of the game for a bit after selling my system, 2x15" SSA Icons in 7.2cubes net 32hz on Crescendo BC2000D. Anyways Im picking up 2 12" SSA Xcons for a crazy price and want to put them in my 03 Dodge 3500. I only want to lose 1 seat so dimensions are a bit tight. 32" tall x21" wide by 25" deep. I think I can get around 5 cubic feet net, (may be able to gain an inch or two on depth) question is how much port area should I aim for? They will be ran on low power, JL JX1000 for now so only 500rms each. Probably wont be adding much more as I dont have the money for electrical or space. if I aim for 70+ and around 5 cubic feet would that be ok? Thanks, Codester

Im needing help i only have a phone no computer and I'm wanting a box built for my new soundquebd hds3 12's i got two subs and my dimensions are 30" deep 35"widr and 18"tall wanting it tuned low around 31-30hz I'm also wanting subs on top facing the roof and port facing the back hatch I'm using a 1200.1 super d class mono Zeus amp with big 3 upgrade and 0 gauge wires but I'm unable to access these sketch up things and box calculators so can someone please help a fellow bass head out and please send me a blueprint of this and a cut list of sides and port and everything pretty please b greatly appreciated

Hey guys, I have been modeling different alignments for my Dayton RSS265-4 HO woofers. I like the look of 1.2-1.4 cu.ft after displacement for both of the tens, tuned around 30 hz. My question to you guys is how much port area I should shoot for? Would two 3" aeros be adequate? According to the modeling program, I would exceed 25m/s vent velocity using 2 3" aeros, but not by much. This install isn't meant to shatter spl records and each woofer will probably never see more than 300 watts, so taking this into account I don't really think I need such large port area. Looking for suggestions, Thanks

I've got one of the few remaining 18" Inhumans that I desperately want to hook up and listen too before I get rid of it. I designed up a quick box in WinISD and came up with these numbers. How do they look to everyone? 8ft^3 tuned to 34Hz 98" of port, 20.31" in length Nothin special, just a good daily driver box.

I have 4 15's I need to fit in my Altima! Kinda a wierd lineup but I got screamin deals so oh well! I need some advice on how to run everything! I have 2 Phoenix Golds XS2500's and a PPI PC2150. I was gonna run an XS2500 bridged to 2Ohm to the PBX and FUBAR!(1 to each bridged) than run the PPI to the 2 JL's.... What do you think? I have a cap too a phoenix Gold XSC1o at 1.0 farad but I know I'll have to either get another alternator put in or a Optima Battery! Which should I do? I havent hooked it …

Okay so I went to Home Depot to get some MDF, Glue, & Screws. So I see the 3/4" MDF and grab a sheet. Then I get home, take it off the truck and find out it's 5/8" instead. Would it be okay to use 5/8" instead of 3/4"? Its going to be for a Single Cab, Downfiring Enclosure, With a Double Baffle. Sub will be AQ HDC3 12"

Lets just say I'm building a ported box. And the port is 6"x13" (Round port) How far away should the end of the port be from any wall? For example, the port is on the front wall. How far does the end inside the box need to be from the back wall? I think i remember it being 1/2 the diameter, but i could be wrong. If anyone could help shed some light on this one, it would be a great help.

this box im making for my ta is a PITA. having to make all sorts of corners and angles to utilize every inch of space in my well. coming along good so far, i've got the bottom half done, and im coming to where it angles and comes to the top of the box. how do i go about screwing in the angle? do i just countersink it further in on the outside of the box, so it doesnt poke out under the carpet, and put the screw in at the same angle as the wood?

I am designing a slot ported box for a bl15 fully loaded. I am looking for 4.18ft^3(4.0 after speaker displacement) @ 32hz. I just need to make sure I got my measurements right. The dimensions(external) are (H)19.5 x (W)45 x (D)14.5. The port is (H)18 x (W)4 x (L)38. Am I right? And is 72in of port area to much? Oh yeah 3/4 mdf is the wood I'll be using.

i've posted this in other forums too, im just trying to get as much input as possible. this is for tc3000 12"dvc. several experienced people have recommended around 2 cu, but i've done some more reading and it seems that they recommended for SPL purposes, you want to use a large enclosure and port. But im not going all out SPL, i just want a REALLY LOUD daily setup, so im just going to experiment and try something in between. Ok so im going to build a box for my new setup and im still not getting this port thing. Alright so the dimensions i want the box to be is. Height 20, Width 49, Length 50. And tuned to 32 hz.

Not really sure where to post this but in my 30 yrs experience I've never seen anything like this and thought I'd share. I bought my 16 yr old daughter a beat down Toyota Avalon for her first car. It's got a junker JVC head works but the sound was extremely anemic. I popped the trunk thinking a cheap set of 6x9's would be a quick fix but these cars never had rear deck speakers. Well shit, I'm pullin door panels. That's when I saw them. ABS ported enclosures? Harmon made? The factory speakers were trashed, foam surrounds completely gone but I was intrigued. I grabbed a set of 4"ers, went to install and found out they're 4 1/2" holes. Cant really open the fronts up …

I have talked with rob and rusty from dc on everything to do with my upcoming design for summer 2012. I am going to go with 2 xl 12s on two SAZ-3500Ds, backed up with juicebox batteries and a 220amp excessive amperage alt. The box will be a little smaller than recommended seeing as DCs love smaller boxes when they are overpowered. Now my question for everybody that I cant seem to get a hold of is port area, would I be better off giving it a little more (Kerf port btw) space (say 18-20sqin per cuft) or the "normal" range of 15-18sqiin per cuft? After searching for a place to put my tweeters with no luck I've decided some custom fabrication must be done. I've never done anything like this. I plan to have some type of pod in the bottom of the a pillar ontop of the dash for the crescendo ft1 tweeters. I was wondering, I am trying to figure out how to not make a box but find out measurments ... well what should i look for when I am lookin at the sub specs and what just what do i look for to make sure everything is perfect

There's a sanctioned USACI show about an hour and a half from here this weekend, thinking about entering in the "Consumer Q" class...anyone here have experiences with USACI SQ? I'm pretty sure the "Q" classes are just soundstage judging, no install, but I'm not sure. What are some things I should look out for so I don't get completely stomped? Thanks in advance.

Hey guys. I recently completed my build using an IA DR12 in 2.2 cubes at 31 hz. My port area right now is 25 in^2. I do get a some port noise on the lower notes in some songs. I was just wondering if I should rebuild a box using more port area. Just not sure if it would make a differance or not. It gets plenty loud right now, I just have had a "what if" idea in my head since I noticed it. Any input would be great. Thanks Tony Nelson
