I finished my fiberglass box yesterday for 1 15" icon yesterday, kinda anyway. Its a little on the small side at 1.8 cubes. I plan on adding some polyfill to bring it up to ssa's specs for 2-2.5 cubes. I just dont know how much to add, I have a 20 oz bag of polyfill at the house. Any advice?

Well i have this 8in sub laying around i was able to get a old school 160A2 rockford fostgate amp for $20 . I thought it would be best to build a box for it than to buy some cheap one so i could get all the bass i could from this little sub . So what i have in mind is building a ported box for best spl . This is going in the trunk of my mustang. But i cannot find any blue print for a small like 1.00cu or smaller enclosure . So if some one could give me some or just send them my way i would be very thankful.

There's a sanctioned USACI show about an hour and a half from here this weekend, thinking about entering in the "Consumer Q" class...anyone here have experiences with USACI SQ? I'm pretty sure the "Q" classes are just soundstage judging, no install, but I'm not sure. What are some things I should look out for so I don't get completely stomped? Thanks in advance.

Alright, well, for a build I am going to be doing I can choose between 2 4" aeroports, or 1 6" aeroport. When I put the 6" into WinISD it tells me a length of 23.25" is needed for my tune. And when I enter 2 4" ports it tells me I need a port length of 21.5". Now, is that a combined length between the two ports? Or does each one need to be 21.5" ?? Thanks for your help.

Alrighty, so I've got a few question. I'm building a ported box in my G35 Coupe and I'm using a round port instead of a slotted port. I'm planning on using these ports. I've been using this calculator to do it. Right now I've got a 2.0 cuft box, I plan on using 2 ports, and I'm tuning it to 29hz. After clicking calculate, it gives me the vent length of 9.13 inches. Does this mean I'll cut both of the cylinders to that length? Or where exactly does that measurement start and end? Also, any tips on doing a flared port box? Slotted was easy, but I wasn't sure if this is any more complicated. Also, what panel of the box should I have the ports for the best results? If it matt…

Never used allthread in a high pressure install so need some small tips in this area. I know that when allthread is ran from one side to another that washers and nuts are used on both sides of a wall. So that means 1 run of allthread will have 4 washers and 4 nuts on it. What kind of washers and nuts am i suppose to use inside of the box to prevent them from coming loose? I looked at nylon lock nuts but i cant use those on the inside because to get the nuts on the inside, you have to roll em on before you slide the allthread through the other wall. So, roll nut one way then back the other way to lock in place... nylon nuts appear to only roll in one direction so i dont k…

Hi all, A friend of mine has a 15" xcon DVC1 in a 3.7 cu ft box (32 Hz tuning, flared port)Look at my avatar : it's his box !! He uses 2 Sundown saz 1000 d amps strapped to run the sub. Now, he wants another xcon 15 and 1 more saz 1000 (he just bought mine ). Here is the question : What would you do ? Build another same box for the second xcon, or build a new box for 2 xcons ? He is the box builder, so there is no problem to build boxes. What are the pros and cons of your choices ? Thanks for your help !!! (He has room in the car, no backseats, he knows he has to upgrade the electrical system for more than 4000 watts !)

I was thinking about to the standard square ports, but last night I thought about doing one, maybe two, larger round ports using PVC. Has anyone tried this. I was thinking something like 8" diameter ports, maybe two of them. Since it is going in a blowthrough, is it also okay to extend the ports out a little, maybe almost into the blowthrough to ensure more pressure from the port goes directly into the cabin of the truck.

Just looking for some help I guess. Mostly with the stock classes. The organization i was preparing for is looking like its just about dead (dbdrag). So im thinking it may be beneficial to build towards the rules of iasca. Anyone with experience competing in this format, I wouldnt mind a bit of help.

I have heard that mounting a 15" subwoofer (btl) in a car will be louder, or at least shake more, if it is facing up rather than back. does anyone have any experience or insight on this topic?

Im looking to get a good SQ setup. Ive narrowed my options to the SSA Icon 12 or a Fi Q 12. Whichever one I get will be powered by a Cadence TXA-1000D amp. I cant decide on which one, hopefully somebody here will be able to help me decide. I listen to hard rock/metal almost exclusively and I drive a 97 2 dr Exploder. So, which has the best SQ with the most output? Thanks, Mo Also, if I get the BP option on the Fi Q and still just run that same amp would it make a difference?

So, i want to build a custom box for a Range Rover classic, LWB Box is for two 12" Alpine Type R's. I want the subs facing towards the roof and the port facing the rear of the vehicle, the "classic" SUV style. Although, the truck comes with a stock cover over the very rear, i want the box to be underneath that, so when i park i can cover the stuff up and keep people from wondering around the car. What wood should be used? Also, any special tricks with making boxes? I will provide picks tomorrow if needed.
