hmmm letsee...got lotsa stuff today. first i recieved a couple of JLw6v2's. Picked them up from Gansan (daniel) in korea town today. i got lost on the way home from LA for about an hour and a half....ended up in compton lol, so i was on the road for about 2 hours with these babies. Of course you gotta start subs out with rap. the output was OK for a couple of 12"'s, but after all i was only giving them 350-400w each, and they are sealed. For other types of music, Funk, Rock, Pop, All i havta say is daang these are THE greatest sounding subs i have heard, yes even moreso than the VQ. in opeths - windowpane, it felt like someone was actually kicking me in the bac…

  5. just built and test fired this beast today, built to perfect proportions with a 2" barle, soon i will add a versa barle system (so 1.5 can be used to shoot hard boiled eggs and 2.5 can be used to shoot tennis balls). twas an extra credit project for physics, not that i need it, straight A's wigga what? so far we have covered force, momentum, and mtion and 2 directions, all of which can be applied to the furthest potato shot. they have 2 sparks, was smart and wired them in series...2 sparks = more effient burn = bigger boom = further launch i test fired this maybe 1hr ago in the dark... stuffed a wad or loosely packed paper about halft way down the barle and helt it at…

this is the UGLIEST install i have done or will ever do. It was a last minute thing and i really really really wanted to try out my Merlin2's Day 1: hmmm i wonder lies underneath this fine packaging top: MD 22 (sub) Bottom: MD41 (comps) MD22 vs a Viper 1200.1 that does twice the power of the merlin. MD41 vs 9.2 Day 2: Stoopid gas tank... ruins my ability to compete teh ghetto install (im soo soo ashamed of this): well there it is. At least it sounds nice I was gonna bridge the 41 into 2 channels, but i didnt have any y adaptors so im only running 50w off my rainbows. (review on next post)

90 day lead time my ass. But...my new stereo rig is getting ready to be shipped to me A horrible quality pic, and the output transformers are still wrapped to prevent core contamination, but that's basically what it looks like. Going to post plenty of pics when it arrives.

My latest project. Going to be the amp in my living room, driving a pair of backloaded horns (hopefully). Around 6wpc @ 8 ohms from pentode-connected EL84's. The original amp worked, but it wasn't very pleasing on the eyes - Ugly yellow lettering on the transformer, and the entire amp was covered in fine surface scratches and other discolorations that aren't very noticeable in that over-exposed photo. So after disassembling the tube sockets and front panel, I put masking tape over everything I didn't want painted and put several coats of Rustoleum hammered enamel over it: The tubes I'm using with it...from left to right - British-made EZ81 rectifier, Zenith new-old-st…
