I'm using Mozilla Firefox. And it's only on this forum...any other webpage or forum and it works perfectly. But on this forum, anybody with large avatars and sigs (like mrray or Eldorado) causes the page to scroll very slowly (actually freezes up the browser for a few seconds) and the loading is very slow aswell. Any fix to this? Any settings I need to change in Firefox? Any other firefox users experiencing the same thing?

i downloaded it and it wouldn't let me connect to the net. It kept sayin i had a loss of conectivity. And when i clicked on the repair button it wouldn't work and it said contact my network advisor. ?????

well the other day i ran a virus scan and i had a crap load of trojans on my comp...got all them fixed....then i d/led a good spyware program cause i had this message on my computer saying windows detected spyware and recomended i d/l something for it....so i did....well today i woke up to a picture on my desktop saying something along the lines of the little pop up i was getting about the spyware yesterday and am unable to change the pic on my desktop also im unable to use the ctrl alt del function...says its been disabled by the admin....however i am the admin of the computer...... im running win xp so u know.....thinking of restoring to a point a few days back....think…

Found a refurbished HP EliteBook 6930p for $265 shipped. Wondering if there are any better deals out there. It MUST be 32 bit to run the fea programs i use. specs on the one I found intel core 2 duo 2400 mhz processor windows 7 professional 32 bit memory 4096 mb 320 gig serial ATA hard drive dvd-rw 802 11 ab6 wireless card not too worried about graphics or audio. will just be using this for fea analysis and a little web surfing.

Man, i've been doin so much research on this when i have time my head is about to explode so i am going to see if you guys share the same thoughts as what i'm seeing and reading. I had a 51" Hitachi rear projection tv. I am replacing it with a lcd or plasma of at least 50" but am wanting to stay below $1200 or around that since this is an unexpected purchase for myself. I have researched 720 vs 1080 and from what i see... unless i primarily watch blu ray movies or if i am sitting very close to the tv(i usually sit about 8-9ft away), 720 is the way to go since there would then be no visual difference and it's cheaper. i got my left over money from college, and want to buy a good laptop, i was thinking on an alienware m14x, or a macbook pro but im not a computer guy, so i would need suggestions on choosing a laptop budget would be from $800-$1400, thank you

i bought a new used computer today .. its a emachine i know i know.. but i got it cheap. so i brought it home hooked it up.. and was able to surf the net. but it had 7 users on it and full of trash, so i clicked around untill i found away to "goback" and it took off all the user and made it almost a new PC. but. now i cant get on the internet. i called my ISP and they told me its my eithernet card, but it was working fine an hour ago, so maybe some help on setting and what not? and im used to XP. and vista is blowing my mind.. anyone know how to reboot vista to a fresh copy, "system restore "? thanks guys.

so i am in the market for a laptop as i am moving off to college.....and i found a gateway refurb on tigerdirect and it has a 1.7Ghz Centrino processor. i was just wondering how this processor compares to like the Celeron. i know my grandma once had a brand new desktop with a Celeron processor about 3 years back and the thing just sucked, it was terrible. i didnt know if this Centrino was better or if it was kind of a replacement..?

I got a laptop a couple years ago and now I primarily use it at work or for work-related things. So, now I am looking for something else. No games, no movies, little music ... mainly used for Word/Excel documents and surfing the internet. 17" screen would be great. Price range - somewhere around $1500? Anyone have any suggestions? I have been completely out of the game since I bought mine two years ago so I am unsure as to what is regarded as the best right now. Is it still down to the whole AMD vs. Intel Core 2 Due thing? I'm in search of some capacitors and after exhausting local stores I need to turn to the internet to find what I need. I would like to know where is a reputable place to get components at?? Yesterday my girlfriend was doing homework on my computer and was trying to open Microsoft Word when the computer froze. She said it was making "thinking noises" but grew impatient and did a hard turn-off. Then when she turned it back on it said "Operating system not found" and wouldn't load. I've never had problems with it before other than an occassional blue screen if I leave the computer on too long because it seems that it doesn't like my wireless adapter sometimes. Got two computers. They're pretty close spec wise. Have an optical mouse / whatever the hell they're called ... without the ball. Both computers have the same Logitech mouse. Turn off both computers. Mouse on the computer on the right stays on (the 'idle' glow), one on the left turns off. Been like this forever, just wondering if I can change it so the retarded one turns off when the computer is off. Probably in the settings somewhere, I don't know - I'm computer retarded.

When I first bought my laptop, I was getting about 2.5-3 hours on a single battery. Months later, for some reason I'm only getting <2 hours on a single batt. Startup groups are still the same (as far as I know), program usage is the same, although I'm using more hard drive now than before (possible cause?). i picked up an older dell, desk top.. and much to my dismay i have 2 problems that are beating me. 1 my video driver is not working? im stuck in 16 bit and 640x480 or some crap. 2 my onboard sound card is not working? no sound.. no adjustment, when i go to my driver it wont even let me select anything. dell demention 2400 ep 1st editon i think... i have done as many updates and windows will allow. any help would be great! thanks guys!

Do any of yall know anything about SIM cards? I would like to transfer all my phone #s on my old phone to my new phone (same service company, both phones use SIM cards). Is there any way I can use the old SIM card in the new phone and somehow change the phone number to my new number? I don't want to go through and reenter every phone number into my new SIM card TIA
