i picked up an older dell, desk top.. and much to my dismay i have 2 problems that are beating me. 1 my video driver is not working? im stuck in 16 bit and 640x480 or some crap. 2 my onboard sound card is not working? no sound.. no adjustment, when i go to my driver it wont even let me select anything. dell demention 2400 ep 1st editon i think... i have done as many updates and windows will allow. any help would be great! thanks guys!

I cannot find these ANYWHERE!!! I own a Klipsch Promedia 5.1 surround sound pc system. They are discontinued now and the BASH 500w amp on the back of the sub box is screwed up. IT only wants to play the subwoofer instead of the rest of the channels and apparently is a known issue from some results i've seen. Well, i wanted to just replace the amp whether it be plate\the exact same amp plate or just a 5.1 surround pc amp period! The problem is... they appear not to be sold on the market, correct? How am i to go about getting an amp to power the speakers i have that still work? I don't feel like sending the unit back, i just want to do it myself. I even looked at other 5.1…

Laptop took a shit on me today so I was wondering with all the new technology today between nooks, notebooks/notepads, tablets and such what sort of device would allow me to exchange emails, create and save word documents, and apply for jobs online? No music or movie downloads, I don't need to be able to do multiple things at one time just some light core internet browsing, maybe some reading/research at most. I also don't need super high speed browsing abilities or lots of storage capacity, just looking for a replacement for basic every day needs.

Anybody know what file type that extension is? Should be video because it is a TV show (or rather whole season) that I downloaded. What player do I need for it?

I've always thought about doin this so i don't have to keep replacing dvd players to hd players to blu ray players to whatever else comes out next. The capability of playing back movies on a pc that only needs the right ROM drive is cheaper than buying a whole new home unit. Plus the fact that the home theater pc can do a LOT more things than a home unit player can. When I first bought my laptop, I was getting about 2.5-3 hours on a single battery. Months later, for some reason I'm only getting <2 hours on a single batt. Startup groups are still the same (as far as I know), program usage is the same, although I'm using more hard drive now than before (possible cause?). Just wondering what yall might think is the problem.

Since I'm in the company of fellow nitpicking SQueers I figure this is as good a place as any to ask this. When ripping .wav's with EAC, what do you guys consider the cutoff point in track quality below which you just delete the rip and try again? I find that most tracks end up 100% or 99.9%, but every so often there'll be ones below that. I'm using all the highest quality settings.

1) on my second computer, the ethernet card says it's working, yet we can't get online. we compeltely restored it about two weeks ago, i've upped my dsl to 3mbps down, 768up and at first the computer worked fine. (we had to retore it due to the exact same problem) now, it's not letting the computer log on. says it can't find or refresh the network address. says to contact the network admin or ISP. how do i fix this? 2)where does one find movies to download? like the ones that just came out or aren't out yet? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

hey guys, it turns out my free trial of windows 7 is over in a week, and im wondering what i should get to replace it...idk if there are still free o/s's out there like windows eternity or not, but if somebody has a way to show me something like that i would be gracious...also, what o/s do u guys recommend?

Anybody know a good, free program for taking music off my old iPod to my new computer. I have tried searching around and all I find are expensive ones or free ones that allow only a hundred songs to transfer. I need something free that will get my whole library from my iPod to my new computer's iTunes account and subsequently on to my phone and other iPod.

On an album I absolutly love, there is an included live dvd. As such, there is alot of the tracks I like better performed live as opposed to studio. Is there a program available to extract the audio from a DVD and copy it to a CD and/or my computer? I want to be able to play this in a vehicle without DVD capabilities, so the audio is important to get. J
