Hey, What are some numbers you guys have been hitting with you Rl-p's.... whether it may be for straight SPL use or just a daily driver and got it metered. I didn't really find any numbers of the Rl-p's and searching didnt help really. If you could, name Car it was in, power, box, and size of Rl-p's.

  3. I've decided if I can keep from having to make a wall to fit them both I would rather go that route. I should be getting my truck back here shortly. Then I can start on the box for the 2 18"s. They'll be pushed by an Orion 2500D. I had a plan made up to do a 4th order box in a wall, but I would rather not do a wall if I can get away with it. What would be the smallest sealed box I could do per sub?

I have a 98 GMC extended cab sierra and Just ordered some new components and will be buying a sub in the next month or 2. I was thinking about the RL-i8 or maybe a 10, I want to go with a sealed box under the rear seat and have a 600w mono amp to run it. Do these subs sound good sealed or should I go a different route? Thanks for any help guys.

OK, I finally had the new 12" RL-p installed into the Audi A6 wagon last week...and I was very disappointed (and mad) when I listened to it. I took it to a decent shop and had a 4 gauge amp kit run to the back of the wagon. I built the box myself, and it turned out very nice. I posted pictures a week or two ago. It is a sealed 1.4 cu ft box. The amp is a cadence 600x1 at 2 ohm (model A5+HC). I bought a Navone Engineering NE-7V LOC, which is supposed to be the best available. When I entered the car for the first time, I was shocked at how bad and quiet the sub sounded. From reading posts here, my hopes were through the roof. However, I was really let down. I am p…

I'm building a SQ box, for my 15 inch RL-p, and the dimensions I'm using are 25x11.5x33. The wood I am using is 1 inch thick. I plan on using a slot port and tuning it to ~29 hz. The only problem is in order for the port to be on the same plain as the subwoofer and be tuned properly with the right area, it says the port will have to be 31 inches wide, by 1.25, with around 38 inches as the length. I've seen lots of other slot ports and most are opened wider than 1.25 inches. I was just wondering, with it being that skinny would it be tuned properly? It still meets the area requirements, ~38.75 square in. its just skinny, and I wanted to make sure turbulance wouldn't effect…

I'm going to be running 4 Signature 12"s ported and the most I can muster up for each is 1.25 cubes ported to 33Hz with 500w to each. Is this going to be sufficient air space for them to function properly?

Someone on another forum is building me a box for 90 shipped and I was wondering if the specs he gave me will be alright? Thanks!! 38" width and 16" height so that your box fits flush with the sides and top of your trunk... The depth comes out to 17"... which makes your net volume 3 cubic feet after driver and port displacements. your port is 3" wide, 14.4" high (making port area 43.5") and 43" long (this is VERY long but makes your tuning 28, which will sound amazing)

I just recently purchased 4 RLP 15's. This is my first SoundSplinter purchase. I bought the dual 4 ohm version. I have a enclosure built that is 13.14 cubic feet NET volume. All 4 subs share the same 13.14 cubic foot chamber. The port is 6x 24 with a length of 18" tuning it to roughly 31.5 hz. These will be fed by a hifonics colossus. My options are to give each sub 750 watts each or 600 watts each. With each sub seeing 3.2 feet will I be over powering them?? Any suggestions would be helpful. I can easily slug the box if needed. Also, any thoughts on all 4 subs all sharing the same air space? This is for a LSQ daily driver with a emphasis on lower octaves. "I mainly listen…

My RL-p18 is arriving tomorrow, the box i am going to build will be 5.3ish cf tuned to probably 29hz. This will be a dual-2 model running off a Sundown SAZ1500 @ 1 ohm. Will 1500+ rms be o.k. for the RL-p in this size box? the box will have about 60 sq inches of port, will that be enough? btw, i used the RE box calculator to mess around with some designs. I have heard that their tuning is a little off, does anyone know about how much so i can compensate for it? sorry about all the questions, I just dont want to eff up the sub Thanks, Cody

  21. Well I decided to enter a double point USACi...So I entered in the Stock 0-300. So I go through on my first pass and pull a 139.6 on a sweep, I peaked at 40hz. On my second pass I pulled off a 141.0 off of! Not bad for 2 sealed Rl-ps 1200 watts. ended up taking 3rd place. But the guys that beat me were using cadence cheater amps and 2 15s in large ported enclosures... But anyways here were the results from my class 1st-141.7 2nd-141.5 3rd-141.0 (me) 4th and down were like 138 and lower but a local competitor (matt sibley) gave me some tips and hopefully Ill get some decent sized gains out of them...next comp im shooting for 142. Anyways thanks Mike For making a Great …

My RL-p 12" died so I'm looking for a replacement. My ride is tiny, Scion xA, so real estate is limited. That being said, I'm leaning towards a 10" rather than another 12". I already have a nice ported 10" enclosure that fits well and was wondering how the RL-i 10" would perform in 1ft^3 net tuned @ 36Hz. Thanks in advance! E

hello, i am intrested in puttin in some RL-i 8's in my 06 dodge megacab. Currently the amp i own is an re12.1 and was wondering if that was too much amp for a pair of 8's. I listen to alot of everything but love music that has super low 25-35hz tones so im thinkin ported, what are you guys using for ported enclosures? size wize i mean. i used to run some crystal 8's in one of my previous setups but saw the vid for these 8's and am really intrested in trying them. thanks!

  24. Im building a box to fit in the middle seat of a dodge ram so this is what I could do 1 12" RL-p sealed in a 1.5 cuft box or 2 12's in .70 cuft stuffed with pollyfill. If I used 2 12's they would both get 750 watts. These box sizes are after sub displacement. What would you guys do.
