I'm building a SQ box, for my 15 inch RL-p, and the dimensions I'm using are 25x11.5x33. The wood I am using is 1 inch thick. I plan on using a slot port and tuning it to ~29 hz. The only problem is in order for the port to be on the same plain as the subwoofer and be tuned properly with the right area, it says the port will have to be 31 inches wide, by 1.25, with around 38 inches as the length. I've seen lots of other slot ports and most are opened wider than 1.25 inches. I was just wondering, with it being that skinny would it be tuned properly? It still meets the area requirements, ~38.75 square in. its just skinny, and I wanted to make sure turbulance wouldn't effect…

Mike, whats the possibility of an RL-p 8? I imagine its been discussed before. Probably not enough demand for 8s to warrant having two lines competing with each other. On another OT note to save topic space...anyone actually running the RL-p 18s in car yet? I loved my 15s to death, 2.75 ported was incredible -- just amazing for a 15 to work so well in that size box.

Alright, iam stuck trying to find out what should i get, 1 rl-p 15 or 2 rl-p 15's or 2 rl-p 12's. I have a Neon, and have an AudioBahn A2502DP here brand new, never used, it can do 1000x1 bridged at 2 ohm and 750x2 in 1 ohm. I wanted to know from mike or any others, what are your opinions. Thanks in advance!

Ok this might be a little long but here goes. I finally put in my RL-P 15. The enclosure it went into was a 2.0 cubes sealed afer displacement.. This sub is also being powered by a crossfire vr1000d at 2 ohms putting out about 500-600 watts. I set my gains with a MM and then proceded to go ahead with testing. I went on a 1.5 hour drive, and basicly went crazy with the MP3s. I am going to start off by saying this driver is completely amazing, everything I threw at it was down right accurate and loud. I started off with some rap, tracks like Trick Daddy - Let's Go, Trick Daddy - Sugar, Lil' Jon - various tracks, and Busta Rymes - Put Your Hands, St. Lunatics - Midwest Swing…

So I got an RL-p 18 off a guy on ROE. Decided to try my hand at building a box myself this time. The box is Approximately 6.2 cubic feet net ported to about 27 hertz. I say approximate because it has curved boards and I didn't bother busting out those formulas... So here's some pics. The funny part is, what I thought is/was the toughest part, the curved flares, came out way better than I had hoped they would let alone thought they would. I did the math, drew out where they should end up, then had a friend help me bend them (2 hands simply wasn't enough) and they ended up spot on. All my other easy cuts? Typically a blade's width off.. made for some interesting clamping …

Im building a box to fit in the middle seat of a dodge ram so this is what I could do 1 12" RL-p sealed in a 1.5 cuft box or 2 12's in .70 cuft stuffed with pollyfill. If I used 2 12's they would both get 750 watts. These box sizes are after sub displacement. What would you guys do.

Took a few hours tonight and threw this new box together for my pair of RL-i8s. I think it came together well, won't be able to test it out until the morning. Might run a roundover on the edges, what do you think?

edit: I have received a $70 credit as compensation. Very cool. The 2 15" rlp subs i ordered arrived today. The first thing i noticed was an outward dent in one of the subwoofers cones. Both have imperfections but this is the most noticeable. The other sub has minor blemish dents just around the logo. Hard to capture with camera and hard to notice. Not that big of a deal. This dent has somewhat bothered me about the order. It sucks having buyers remorse, it sucks having to ship products back for replacement also. Its hard to see how this would have been caused during shipping, without puncturing the cardboard container. An email has been sent to mike, i was ju…

Hello, First off I really like this product line it basically is an improvement on my favorite subs off all time the Audiomobile EVO-R 15. I've owned my 2 RL-P 12's for over a year now. Although the subs were used when I got them. I've had them in 3 separate cars and in 4 different enclosures. Its hard to describe how much I love these subs, they have a unique sound to them that I just don't want to give up. Right now I have them in a blowthrough style enclosure in a 00 S10 regular cab. The box is 5.1cu ft. tuned to 30hz using 2 aeroports. I'm still using that Hifonics 1600 watt amp, it seems to be about a perfect match in my opinion. My upper stage consists of 2003 era Rockford Fosgate, Fanatic X components. With a RF 300.2 amp. I listen to mostly Metal and Rock. With Rap thrown in when I want to poun…

Well I decided to enter a double point USACi...So I entered in the Stock 0-300. So I go through on my first pass and pull a 139.6 on a sweep, I peaked at 40hz. On my second pass I pulled off a 141.0 off of! Not bad for 2 sealed Rl-ps 1200 watts. ended up taking 3rd place. But the guys that beat me were using cadence cheater amps and 2 15s in large ported enclosures... But anyways here were the results from my class 1st-141.7 2nd-141.5 3rd-141.0 (me) 4th and down were like 138 and lower but a local competitor (matt sibley) gave me some tips and hopefully Ill get some decent sized gains out of them...next comp im shooting for 142. Anyways thanks Mike For making a Great …

This by far is will the biggest cabinet I have ever designed and to be built. The customer is using a RL-s 15 for Home Audio. The cabinet is 29" w x 29" h x 38" d and the entire beast is 1" MDF - Triple Baffled w/ the subwoofer recessed and braced like a solid brick sh!t house. The back of the cabinet is within the interior of the cabinet with a 6" space to the exterior back for mounting an plate amp. The space isolates the plate amp for the enclosure interior. The customer requested the bracing to be pure overkill to deaden the enclosure. A custom grill cover will be done that slips within the recess cutout which the front part of the grill cover will protrude beyond …

I want to use 2 RLi 10s in a 1.5 cubic foot net sealed box with 1800 watts RMS power on them @ 1 ohm. Will the subs handle that kind of power being that are only rated at 500 watts RMS? Also, what size voice coil do these subs have? Thanks, Bill

I listen to alot of everything but love music that has super low 25-35hz tones so im thinkin ported, what are you guys using for ported enclosures? size wize i mean. i used to run some crystal 8's in one of my previous setups but saw the vid for these 8's and am really intrested in trying them. thanks!
