I am looking to build a box for 2 15 rl-ps. My max dimensions are 44 D x 17 h x 19 D. I am looking to put both subs on the left side with the port all the way to the right side. I want to tune to about 30 hz. Thanks.

I got the sub metered this weekend at a show. The mic was a TL, legal, on the dash, windows, doors, etc, close. 149.0 peak, 148.4 average, tones. With music it did a 147.6. Not to bad for a SQ orientated sub.

Ok this might be a little long but here goes. I finally put in my RL-P 15. The enclosure it went into was a 2.0 cubes sealed afer displacement.. This sub is also being powered by a crossfire vr1000d at 2 ohms putting out about 500-600 watts. I set my gains with a MM and then proceded to go ahead with testing. I went on a 1.5 hour drive, and basicly went crazy with the MP3s. I am going to start off by saying this driver is completely amazing, everything I threw at it was down right accurate and loud. I started off with some rap, tracks like Trick Daddy - Let's Go, Trick Daddy - Sugar, Lil' Jon - various tracks, and Busta Rymes - Put Your Hands, St. Lunatics - Midwest Swing…

Hey guys, quick rundown of what I have had in the past (for comparison purposes) and what I have now. Old vehicle, '93 Explorer, Eclipse Head unit, 5433 I think, Diamond Audio 5X7's in all doors, Diamond Audio M6 tweeters in A-pillars, US Acoustics USB 4085 amp for all the above mentioned, Diamond CM3 10" D4 subs in a transmission line ported enclosure, powered by a Diamond D5 600.2 amp. New vehicle, '99Mitsubishi Montero Sport, Eclipse CD5000 headunit(sweet), Eclipse SC8264 Components in front doors (sweet), MB Quart DKK116 6.5 Coax's in rear doors, all ran off same US Acoustics amp, the RL-p12" sub ran off the Diamond Amp (600rms@4ohms), sub is in sealed enclosure, ~1.…

I was just wondering if anyone has installed a RL-p 15 in a dodge quad cab? if not what others have worked for you? I am thinking of installing a Dvc 2 RL-p 15 under the back seat in a 2.2ft^3 sealed enclosure running off a Phoenix gold tantrum 1200.1 I have also tossed around the idea of installing a Dvc 4 Ri8 in a custom made .65ft^3 ported center seat console running of a phoenix gold tantrum 400.4. The 8 would be for everyday and the 15 would be for shows I would app. any input you may have. Thanks Chad

Well let me explain my story. I had ordered SS RL-p 12s when they had first came out. I'm pretty sure it was Mike's first batch. Old cones. After a week of use, One subs surround started to come straight off of the cone. I had told mike about it and surely enough he replaced it with the next batch, the new aluminum cones no logo. Mike even paid for return shipping! Thanks Mike. Well surely enough about 6 months pass by, not any problems really. The aluminum cone's color has faded from pointing up in my hatch, access sunlight I'm guessing. Pretty ugly. And My Old cone 12 well, you guessed it, starts to come off the cone. It's been around 6+ months now, I've just been runni…

I was loading the parameters into WinISD and noticed that there is no SPL parameter. Is it safe to just use the default one provided by WinISD? (I got 87.59 for a 12" RL-p) Also the paramenters on the site do not distinguish between 2 and 4 ohm subs. I don't think that the RE for both is 3.8. I have heard that these subs are very compairable to the Brahma. Compairing the curve on WinISD, inputing the same box size and freq., there is a big difference in performance, possibly due to the parameters I put in. Anyone got a flash light? Hey Mike, since these are a DIY sub, it might be kinda neat to have the drivers for WinISD, LEAP, BBP and other popular programs downloadable …

  10. I have a guy on CA.com thats going to build me a box for my single RL-p 15. I told him from several recommendations, 3.5cubic feet at 32hz. He has a box thats 4 cubic feet tuned at 28hz thats already build and good to go, (ive seen it as well) Which box would you choose? Sub is a Dual 4 wired to 2 ohm, powered by a Kicker ZX750.1. I listen to alot of music, but love old school R&B and rap if im in the mood. As always any feedback is apperciated, thanks.

I'm new to the SS product line and the SS forums so I'm sure this is a stupid question. I want to a single RL-p 12" for my wifes car and it would be great if I could use her old prefab box.So the big question is...... Will it work??? Here are the specs: 2.18 cubic feet tuned to 40 Hertz ports are 25.00 square inches. Thanks in advance!!!

Hey all i was thinkin about doin a bandpass for my RL-p. would be an interesting project, having the bass ported directly into the cabin through my first aid kit hole. Mr. Coleman said it would be the best bet so i wont lose any of the bass in the trunk space (or something like that). What are yall opinions on that?

I got these two box designs off Ca.com, im just wondering if they will be fine. Will be powered off a nine.1 1200w@1ohm with the gains turned down a little bit. Running a 15 rlp http://img30.imageshack.us/my.php?image=35...z465sqin0cb.png This one is 3.5 cubes tuned to 30hz http://img30.imageshack.us/my.php?image=32...z435sqin9pz.png This one is 3.2 cubes tuned to 28hz. Im leaning more towards the 3.2 cubes as I want to have SOME space left in my trunk. Would these two box designs be sufficient or should I go with tomsething else.

  20. OK so I have a few uberquality phone pics for now, will post some more real pics later. Built a .49 ft^3 (.4 + .09 for displacement) enclosure out of 3/4 MDF so it'll bolt up to the 'ski hole' on my bimmer. Getting the angle to fit snug against the slope of the back seat was a little tough, but it came out in the end (my first box assembling experience). I did black carpet for the face, as I have black interior. Back of the enlosure is gray to match the carpet in the trunk. Box was screwed shut and glued / sealed using Loctite Construction Adhesive (claims no fumes, but I still let it dry 24 hours). Specs: 5.25" Vifa components in the front doors (fatmat added, more on or…

All in all it came out decent...had a couple air leaks in the face and i was too lazy to take the subs back out and seal from the inside so I glued some spots from the exterior...then i realized i should have just added a couple extra screws on top lol. 3.0 ft^3 net ~34hz. and i get to say i met mike from SS! who else can say that? i wanted the logoless + sig but he was out of the logoless, but the anodized cones w/ logos were my 2nd choice. i haven't had extensive playing time with these babies yet, but they are quite the impressive drivers. i've only listened to rap and stuff like that so …

Well my RL-i 10's arrived yesterday, and I want to get them in a box asap. No literature was provided with them, but not a big deal. I just need to know the displacement of these subs so I can figure my overall box size. I spoke with Mike via email and he recommended a .6 cu ft per sub sealed box. I'll be running 425w RMS to each, and they'll be down-fired under my rear bench of my crew cab truck. One thing I noticed was that the mounting surface is a bit different from what I'm used to. The mounting holes are covered with a rubber "ring." The holes through this ring appear to be the same diameter as the holes through the mounting surface of the basket. So my que…

I have almost got my mind made up and I'm getting two RL-S 15's! They are going into a 1996 S10 extended cab. I have my eyes on a hifoincs colossus II amp to power them. I have talked to mike @ SS, and he thinks that I will be happy with that. I just would like more opinions on this. I can do a 9.3 cu enclosure. (thats the limit of the space I have to work with. As with the specs being a bit confusing, (I don't have any modeling software) I'm not sure about the enclosure type to go with. I would like the highest output I can get, while keeping the SQ somewhat decent. Once I get back from Iraq, I want to show one of my buddys up too. He has 4 Memphis M3 MOJO 15's in…
