Hey y'all, I'm new to this forum, so I apologize if this topic is already covered elsewhere. I currently have my RL-i8 installed in a modified tube enclosure. I am wanting to put in something nice, and so am looking for recommendations for a high quality sealed box. Does anyone know of any good brands to look into? I'm looking to save trunk space, but give the sub a nice box. I'd appreciate the help.

Well after some delay in trying to figure out the proper enclosure size for my RL-p 15, it's finally in. Thanks again Mike for putting up with all my emails . It's in a 2.0 net sealed box, temporarily being powered by my Fosgate Power 451S amp. The sub is getting ~230 watts (not much eh?) It will soon be mated to an Arc Audio 1500-XXK. This setup replaced my previous 12" Brahma in a 2.5 cu ft box, tuned to 28 hz. Now onto the review! Only got to listen to the sub for 5 hours or so today. My friend and I built a box for his 1998 silverado extended cab. He has 2 15" rlp's and an Orion 1200w amp. The box is a total of 8.461ft^3 with 69.75in^2 of port area and port length of 26 inches. The box is so big it can only be fired up or down. It is currently firing up and my friend is not satisfied with the output of the subs. There is a lot of pressure but not a lot of volume. He would like to stick with the same box. Would changing the tuning from 28 to 35 hz make a big difference? Do you think that facing it downward would make that much of a difference? If so how much space should there be between the box and the floor? Any other ideas besides get a di…

Would it be possible to change a dual 4ohm RL-P12 to dual 2 ohm? If so, how much would it cost?

looking to try something different. 3 rl-i 10s will be in a sealed box. the rl-p 15 will be ported. i have a dls A6 amp to power which ever i go with. it does 1200wrms at 1ohm. music preference is heavy metal, trance, and jazz/rock.

every company gives a recommended port area, or people like to use about around 12-15 square inches of port per cubic foot. ive got a rl-p 15 and am drafting a new box to fit under my hatch cover for better security reasons. my current box is 4 cubes after disp. at 30hz w/ 55.5 square inches of port.(in love) the one im drafting is will be 3.5 after disp. at 32.5 w/ 67.5 square inches of port. i dont know when i plan on building the new one, maybe when i have the cash flow and a job lol so how do you know you

alright so.. i've been saving up money for almost half a year now and i really wanna get a good set for my car but the thing is, i have no idea what parts i should buy that best suites my car i drive a 2004 acura tsx i've been hearing from my friends that i should go w/ sound spinters so, i am but the thing is.. what do i all need? i have no experience w/ subs or anything of that matter so far.. i'm considering getting two 10"s? good or bad choice? but i heard the 8"s were badass. and that's as far as i've thought of no idea of what amp, or if my car can even use the subs w/out changing my deck anybody know any info that can help me out?

too lazy to paint or carpet the box, but supa_c spraypainted the port haha. Hey all i was thinkin about doin a bandpass for my RL-p. would be an interesting project, having the bass ported directly into the cabin through my first aid kit hole. Mr. Coleman said it would be the best bet so i wont lose any of the bass in the trunk space (or something like that). What are yall opinions on that?

well as you might have known I was yes going to go for 2 12"Rl-ps and yes i still might get them. But I have also herd more news of the new Rl-s. now I recently quit my job so money wont be coming in. i want to get one in a month or less but i can order 2 12"rl-ps right now. but if it were up to you should i just sit back and save more and go all out and get some rl-s's or mabey get some 8"s. the 8's IMO look hawt. and pritty cheap. thats the reason for this post, I think way to much on what i should do so i want some info from you guys....thx. ~shane

My RL-p 12" died so I'm looking for a replacement. My ride is tiny, Scion xA, so real estate is limited. That being said, I'm leaning towards a 10" rather than another 12". I already have a nice ported 10" enclosure that fits well and was wondering how the RL-i 10" would perform in 1ft^3 net tuned @ 36Hz. Thanks in advance! E

Hi again Mike..... The first thing I want to mention is I don't see any posts in regards to your drivers being used in the home theater market. Most or all of the posts are for autos and SUV's. okay, my e1800d input sensitivity is set @ about 60% now (1o clock position) and when i turn my vol up (20 of 34) it doesnt seem to show a lot of excursion, maybe an inch total. this is also with the EQ on my HU on "xplod" (sony). (MY 40A FUSE HELD AT THIS VOLUME) now i wanted to ask before i fool around with my input sens. because i do not want to blow my sub. i know my RCAs are rated @ 2V, but im not too sure how much its too much on my amp.

I got the sub metered this weekend at a show. The mic was a TL, legal, on the dash, windows, doors, etc, close. 149.0 peak, 148.4 average, tones. With music it did a 147.6. Not to bad for a SQ orientated sub.

I just finished ordering my Rl-p 12, and I cant wait to get it. I think i messed up a little, see what I did was buy an amp before sub thinking that I was going to get a different sub, but now I decided on this one. The first problem I have is way too much power I beleive. I have the Lanzar Opti 2000D, which will put out 1100 at 2 ohms. I will obviously keep the gains turned down. The main point of this post is the enclosure for me that will handle some of that power and sound good doing it.
