What can I say? This sub is amazing. It drools with SQ. When I first installed this sub I had never heard a SQ designed sub/enclosure. I was a little let down by the lack of SPL. Then I realized what SQ subs/enclosures are all about and set my amp up properly and I really started digging the sound. It blends in perfectly and so damn accurately. Over the weekend I spent the day installing the raammat and good lord I'm so happy with the results. The bass hits harder and deeper and more solid. It just feels better. I can't imagine how hard this thing would hit in a ported enclose tuned to say 28Hz. it would be insane. As it is it makes my hair move. What I like is how deep …

At long last, the RL-i8 is slowly but surely making its way through production Big performance in a "little" package, with the improved features we had been hoping for. I have almost got my mind made up and I'm getting two RL-S 15's! They are going into a 1996 S10 extended cab. I have my eyes on a hifoincs colossus II amp to power them. I have talked to mike @ SS, and he thinks that I will be happy with that. I just would like more opinions on this. I can do a 9.3 cu enclosure. (thats the limit of the space I have to work with. As with the specs being a bit confusing, (I don't have any modeling software) I'm not sure about the enclosure type to go with. I would like the highest output I can get, while keeping the SQ somewhat decent. Once I get back from Iraq, I want to show one of my buddys up too. He has 4 Memphis M3 MOJO 15's in…

Any input would be appreciated. In the market for some new drivers. Since I've had so much success with the RL-i8, I thought I would try out the 10s . Option 1.) 3 RL-i10's. Sealed .48ft^3 net volume each. 433 watts rms each. Orion 1200d @ .67ohms. Option 2.) 2 RL-i10's. Sealed .53ft^3 net volume each. 650 watts rms each. Orion 1200d @ 1ohm. Main question is about the Orion. Will it be stable @ .67ohms. I don't know how impedance rise effectively changes in a small sealed box. I don't see the enclosure space difference of .05ft^3 effecting much low end output. Any thoughts? Advice? Opinions? Love to hear what you guys would suggest Thanks Adam

Right now I have, one Rl-p running 1000 watts, and even though it hits really nice, I think I am missing something, the sq is nice, but I think is still a little weak as far as lows go. People from outside the car dont even know the sub is nice. Dont get me wrong, I dont want to show off, but I want to know if is normal of the Rl-p. I have a sealed box, 1.25cf. Also I would like to know if I would see a big difference by adding another 12, Would it be night and day difference? What do you guys suggest to run if I want lows, is better to run a ported box if I have 2 subs, and if yes what size should it be?

i have been running an rlp 12 for about 5 months i.b off a xenon 600.i like everything about it gets sick low, accurate, loud everything, but i got these here s.s. 8s loking at me? i couldnt get em up front so i thought id try em in the rear shelf. did some work on the shelf today and had to go for a drive to get some stuff, the weird thing is that now i have 2 holes in the rear shelf (about 6 inch diamiter each) kindof porting the i.b rl-p 12 into the car, it sounds.....better? no longer sealed i.b but kindof mostly sealed with 2 holes in the shelf? im confused i thought this would have destroyed sq and power handling? but it doesnt seem to have done that? anyway ill f…

I should be receiving my 12" RL-P tomorrow sometime and would like to try and get the box built for it this weekend. I've read more times than I can count that the RL-P loves to be ported, so that is definately the type of box I am leaning towards. And I want to try donwfiring since it will be in an extended cab truck. I should start by saying I have very limited dimensions but can still get the required space. The dimensions I can use are, no more than 26" high, 21" across, and 14" deep up to about 14" high and 10" deep from there up. Kinda hard to visualize? shape would kinda resemble a chair. My questions are as follows: With downfiring would the port direction matter?…

Hey everyone. I have a sealed enclosure with 1 SS RL-p 15 d2. The internal air space is 2.25 cu. ft. I have a Directed 1500D hooked up to it putting 1100wrms @ 1ohm It sounds amazing now that I set the amp up properly. I'm very happy. Now to the question: I have two 1 lb bags of poly fill. By tossing both bags in the enclosure it would trick the sub into thinking its in a 2.7 cu. ft. box (round about). I was wondering what effect you think this would have on the sound? I don't want to pull my sub out and try it if its not going to do anything for my setup. What do you guys think would happen sq wise and output wise?

Im considering getting an rl-P 15". My last setup was 2 12" L7's and I wasnt satisfied with their sq. I will be putting it in a ported box in my ext. cab Toyota Tacoma. What size box would you recommend? I have up to 4cu.ft. of room but heard that the rl-p would be well satisfied with 3.5 or less. Also will I be happy with how loud it will get after being used to hearing my last install? From what I've read I will be with the subs sq.Thanx 4 any help.Sry 4 all the q's.

Sorry for the ugly pic, new camera and I dunno how to use it yet Deck: Eclipse 5423 Components: CDT EF 6.5" mids, satnet 560 crossovers, and 1" silk tweets (Iguess this would be basically a 6.5 EF set? I bought the pieces seperate, but I'm pretty sure thats what ef's have.) Also not pictured is a set of .75" silk tweeters (also cdt), they are currently installed in my car and I don't need to pull em out this round. Amp: Rockford Fosgate 800a2 (200x2 RMS @ 4 ohms for those who dont know) Subs: 12" RL-p's, got 2 of em. Amp: PowerBass XA 3000D (rated at 3000x1 RMS @ 14.4v, I've heard it may be overrated but even if its 2500w, its more than enough) Batteries: 2 Napa Bluetop …

Well I didn't want to jack CT_SRT's thread, but people were suggesting using a slot port in the middle to act as bracing. I was originally considering this, but I need to use an L shaped port to get enough port length, and I couldn't figure out how to make an L shaped port act equally on the 2 subs. I'm currently building my box, but have yet to cut into my front baffle, so sub mounting/port placement is still decidable. My external dimensions are: 15H" x 36W" x 25D" So that should give me about 7.1cf right? Can anyone help me port this? I'd like to tune to 30 hz (lower if possible) with as much port area as I can fit. Any large port tuned that low will be longer than 20"…

i've read incredible things about soundsplinter and considering them in my next setup. its going in a '05 toyota tacoma access cab. my install has space limitations. i have only .88 gross cu. ft, and 600/700 watts available. i am SQ focussed, but want to wang as well. two rl-i 8s seem perfect, but they don't come in the VC configuration i need. i need a final 2 ohm load. since the rl-p does not come in 10, the rl-p 12 is my only other option (that i am aware of). is .88 gross too little for a rl-p 12" even if i add poly ?

Hi everyone, quick question...i have a 12" rl-p D4 and want to make a ported enclosure while maintaining the BEST SQ I can (if it makes any difference, I listen mainly to rock). I was told 1.5 cubes tuned to 28 hz. Does this sound accurate?

Hey. i want to choose a sub that can work well in a small sealed box. in the price range i can afford, i found three contenders : rl-i 10 DLS UR-10 and Ground Zero Uranium 10 sorry for the language in the ground zero link... i asked for small sealed box application, because the designer said sealed box woofers work well in the DeathBox. there is one decware forum member which uses an rl-p 12 in the 12" version of the deathbox with great results. but i already have the box built and want to buy a ten. 500w rms @ 8 ohm available. sq oriented home theater setup. i live in romania, but the cost of shipping an rl-i is reasonable in my opinion.

I'm buying some used RL-ps(dual 4 ohm), but in order to do so I must get rid on an amp(s). I will more than likely put them in a box between 1-1.25 cubes net sealed, should be about 1.2. I have 2 SS rubicon 1000-2s(1000 watts rms at 2 ohms each) or a kx1200 (rated at 1400@1 ohm). I have heard many say that 600 watts is more than enough and some that swear by giving it 1kw each. I would like to go with the single amp, but dont know if I would acheive full output with it. Any help from past/present rl-p owners would be greatly appreciated. If you haven't owned/heard an rl-p, please state that if posting. Thx.

First time poster here with a question about the RL-P. I have entered the market to find a new sub after a nuked my old school round solo(12 inch D series, had it less than a week bought it brand new never used). I was floating around the caraudio.com forums and saw many people talking up the sound splinter product(I created a similar post to this over there today and all repsonse have been very positive) so I checked out the web site and came away impressed, yet looking for more info. Basically I just wanted to get some opinions as to how this speaker compares to my solobaric. I went with the solo because I loved the small sealed box design. I want my system to sound go…

hey everyone. I just wanted to know what size hole was cut in your enclosure to house a 15" RL-p. If I'm not mistaken on Sound Splinters web page it states that the diameter is 13.85 to the outsid edge of the surround. So what I did was cut out a hole that measured 13.85 inches. I put my sub in the box and it wouldn't fit. the whole was about 1/2 inch too small or more. ten minutes later with my trusty jig saw the sub was in and clearing properly. what measurement did you guys use to install a 15" RL-p?? they should update their web page with the correct mesurements. (or did I miss something?)
