well I was gonna wait till I got my second power acousik A3000DB so I can tell you how it sounds w/ some real power but I'm getting antsy an wanna show off. So w/o further adou... box in the making another bracing heres the speaker hole and hole for interchangable port and final assembly And for the grand finally! here is a 4"x8" port tuned to 45hz to see what this can do off of the little bit of power however now one of the hurrican nuts came loose from the back and got stuck but I just fixed that today and now w/ some liquid nails holding them in place I'm hoping it will work. but now I have to make a new port since I kinda broke this one trying to get it off BTW…

Ok, After doing a few more hours of research tonight, I learned a few things: Couches can act like bass traps & its ok to fire the driver up. In light of the furniture issue, I do like the two front firing drivers with the one being higher than my couch. I like the idea of having a driver that is unobstructed from my listening position. What do you think of going for the same dimensions as the thiel ss4? 19"W x 28"D x 51" H With 2 RL-p15's, and the Adire 1200@4ohm with LT plate amp? http://www.adireaudio.com/Home/ADASubAmps.htm I am willing to adjust the cabinet size to match the drivers, but this is where I am stuck. The soundsplinter site says "2.5 cu ft, with the g…

Ok, Got the 4 RE8's in my friends truck, he likes them, a lil port noise, but he likes them. but he wants something that drops lower. i plainly asked him when i was deigning this one if he wanted it to drop low... he said he doesnt care about low notes...he just wants loud. hence the 36Hz tuning. now he wants low and louder...and hes had it a whole 4 days with the gians set correctly. He is thinking about a JL w7 13 sine he wants something that will sound good, get loud, and drop low off of the 500/1 he has. i immediatly though of a list of driver fitting the bill without going cookie cutter w713. in come RL-s 12. My question is, what kind of enclosre for car and what k…

Well I took apart the stereo in my old car so I can transfer into my new car...and I was looking at the sub and noticed some slight oxidation on the pole piece. So I took out some leftover Eagle 1 Never-Dull and went to work. Came out pretty nice. Also re-ran the bridge wires on the 'inside' so it'll hug closer to the magnet and have a cleaner look.I gotta go back and redo some of the area near the magnet boot though.

I was going to post this in the Show Off forum, but it won't let me. Rather than copying what I've already posted elsewhere, I'll just give you the link: http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-visu...I AM A-sirius.html It's a pretty long write up, but lots of pictures.

I'm going to build a ported box for my RL-p (couldn't resist, since a lot of people say it's better there). Now, what volume should it be (2cuft @ 34hz??)? and how do u calculate port area? I'm a noob in regard to building a ported box . If some of you can provide a plan that will be awesome. Thanks in advance.

its weird. i play Young Bloodz - Presidential Tish and when it hits that low note, the sub moves like a mother, like ALOT but barely any bass comes out of it. is it because my box is sealed and the f3 is too high for that note? or is it something else? btw its an rlp 2.0 cubes sealed with 800w

Cliffnots for those who dont like to hear me blab: 2 12" RLP dual 2 ohm. Pre-built 3.3cuft box. (single cab silverado) To port, or not to port? If ported, will be 2x 4" ports, how long? Polyfill? SQ is the main concern, but spl should follow. Infinite power available. (almost) I suck at math. WinIsd hates me. My cat's breath smells like cat food ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just put in my order for a pair of 12" rlp dual 2ohms. I have a couple questions regarding my enclosure... They will be installed in my silverado single cab. I already have an enclosure built, its size comes out to about 3.3 cu ft, which is pretty damn big…

Edit: Thanks to everyone who has participated or shown interest in these deals - if you keep an active eye out, I'm sure there will be another "garage sale" in due time Happy Holidays & New Year!! I hope the culmination of O-5 has brought smiles, laughter, boozin' and bass to all! Things 'round these parts have been great, December has been my second busiest month on record! Yea yea, so how can YOU cash in too? Heh, well I'll tell ya! I have this here back room in my casa (more like an old closet) filled with some refurb'd drivers, cosmetic variances, and old school models that I no longer sell on the website.. I figure now's as good a time as any to unload some…

So I've read that rather lengthly post over at SIN regarding some of the misconceptions regarding moving mass in relation to sound quality. For the most part the article mentioned that inductance is a far better indicator of potential sound quality than moving mass. (My understanding of inductance being the amount of power that is stored in the vc before it actually uses it) therefor lower number of inductance should indicate superior performance. With this said, how does the RL-P stand up (keep in mind this isn't a bashing post, I've had an RL-P since march and I love it) and what is the difference between lossy inductance and (the other one). The RL-P's inductance numbe…

I would guess that if anyone from this forum actually bought an RLS we would see a post about it. And did anyone in the ring even try the normal recs for the enclosure. I remember people just throwing it in ported boxes they already had. If this is the case then most of us really don't know what it would sound like. 600 burning in my hand

I am becoming more and more convinced that the RL-I 10" driver will be the driver of choice for my new system in my 2003 Dodge Ram Quad Cab. Ive purchased a stealth box that installs under the rear seat providing enclosure space for 2 10"s with .65 cube of airspace per 10". After debating between the Diamond Audio CM3/D3, Resonant Engineering SE and even the Elemental 11Kv.2 I was given the RL-I 10" as another suggestion that seems to be the best choice. I went to the soundsplinter site to order 2 of these subs and was directed to a page stating they were out of stock. Does anyone here know when they will be replenished enough for sale? I have my enclosure, amp, and H…

Sunday I am building a Quasi-Eighth Order Series Tuned Bandpass :-D. This should be quite interesting. Its designs up to a nasty looking box!! I am slamming 148.3s right now with the standard ported box. My hopes are to get a solid 150 out of the pair AND gain SQ, which supposedly this baby should do! *still wonders where his RL-s is :-D*

I just wanted to say thank you for putting out such an amazing little product. I just purchased an April 2k5 built SoundSplinter RL-i 8" subwoofer off of eBay after ripping a hole in the surround of my old fart JL 8w6. Needless to say, I'm definitely a SoundSplinter convert now. The quality of the product, the performance of the product, and the value of the product blow away anything I've ever experience in the 8" sub arena. Thank you again for such a wonderful line of products. Chances are, I'll be purchasing a couple revised RL-i 8" subs directly from you once they come out. It's about time to add some much needed quality to my home theater setup.
