i am looking for an amp to power my rl-s 12. i had the kicker sx900.1 bridged but it ain't working out for me. so i moved that amp to my components and i borrowed my friend's jl 1000/1 for now. it hits nice and clean. but i want a little more power. here are some amps i was thinking of........ mmats 2100.2 1550wrms @ 2ohms kicker zx1500 1500wrms @ 2ohms jl 1000/1 1000wrms @ 1.5-4ohms kicker zx2500.1 2500wrms @ 2ohms (not sure if i want to run that much power) are their any other amps that will work perfectly with this sub?

i asked a friend of mine who is very knowledgable with car audio (but puts a lot of stock in modeling programs, which i dont) to help me with the port designs on my box. i was shooting for a 4 ft^3 @30 hz box, when i asked him about it, this is the reply i got. he recommends 33hz, but i was shooting for 30 because i want this to hit LOW. To be honest with you, I think 4 cubes for those 2 subs is too big. The Qts on these subs is so low, that they really want a smaller box. I found that 1.5 cubes (each) tuned to 33hz gives a nice flat response. With the 1.5 cubes per sub (3 cubes total), you'd need 2 4" ports at 17.4" long each, or 3 3" ports at 15" long each. If you jump…

Would the 12" Rl-p perform well infinite baffle? It has a nice low Fs, but the Qts looks a bit low. But, hey, since these model up horribly in box programs, I figure it'd be better to ask than assume/try to model :4123357f3da0f6e125a54:

I have one of each (amp & sub stated in the title), and I'm trying to figure out which amp/sub combo would be best. The 18" will be in a ported box. 5.2 net tuned to 34hz, and the 15" will be 3.4 net tuned to 34hz as well. What's your take on this? Thx, Vic.

Just wondering if you guys sell recone kits for this woofer? I have a chance to pick up one pretty cheap that needs a recone and thought it would be a good sub to have.

I want to have mostly a sq based system, but i still want to be able to feel some bass. I want to run 8's just to conserve some space. How well do these hit low frequencies. I mostly listen to mostly rock and R&B so i kind of need some all around performers. I can imagine they will get pretty loud in a truck, but does anyone run these in a car? If so throw me some info. I'm still not sure if i want to run 2 or 3 though. The Vehicle in question is a 2004 POntiac Grand Prix.

hey all, i was just wondering, how much of an improvement in spl and sq (in your opinion) if any will i get switching my LI in for an RL-P i just ordered?? All with the same amt of power about 550-600w, and same box (but shrinking the internal volume by .75 cubic feet.) and tuning it around 30-32 hz.

I should be receiving my 12" RL-P tomorrow sometime and would like to try and get the box built for it this weekend. I've read more times than I can count that the RL-P loves to be ported, so that is definately the type of box I am leaning towards. And I want to try donwfiring since it will be in an extended cab truck. I should start by saying I have very limited dimensions but can still get the required space. The dimensions I can use are, no more than 26" high, 21" across, and 14" deep up to about 14" high and 10" deep from there up. Kinda hard to visualize? shape would kinda resemble a chair. My questions are as follows: With downfiring would the port direction matter?…

How do these two subs rated against each other SQ wise?? Similar sounding? Does size matter for achieving better SQ?? or it's just a gimmick?? Sorry for asking heaps of question

an 18" RL-P i was gonna go with a beefy 12" but i said to myself, what the heck....ill just go bigger! i need to save up the money first, then I will pull the trigger. Its going into a 4 cube sealed box, powered off an MD1D giving it oh, around 6-700w. (let me know if any of this sounds like it will not be good) couple of questions: 1. Can i have it with the laser etched logo + sig (cuz i heard that the laser thing is for a small run) 2. going from a 1.7 cube tuned to 34 hz 12" to a 4 cube sealed 18" will i be missing low end even if it is a 18" sub 3. will 6-700w be enough to get the sub moving good? thanks! woot! im glad its gonna fit.

i'm using a 1.5" baffle on the sealed box i built for my rl-i10. but there's not a lot of room for the air to pass between the basket and the cutout. should i worry about it ? i've been thinking about using a plexi panel (12" / 12"). i've never used it before. what thickness would be good to replace 3/4" mdf ?

Factory recommendations: Acceptable: 0.4 - 0.95 cu ft net volume sealed 0.3 - 1.2 cu ft net volume vented, Fb = 22 - 36 Hz Optimal Car: 0.65 cu ft net volume sealed 0.45 cu ft net volume vented, Fb = 27 Hz I notice that the optimal vented box is smaller than the optimal sealed. I was thinking going sealed b/c of space issues but if going ported will really be smaller should I do this. Im also thinking aero ports and need some information on how to calculate what size I would need to tune to 27 hz. Does anyone own an rl-i if so what kind of box is it in?

I am becoming more and more convinced that the RL-I 10" driver will be the driver of choice for my new system in my 2003 Dodge Ram Quad Cab. Ive purchased a stealth box that installs under the rear seat providing enclosure space for 2 10"s with .65 cube of airspace per 10". After debating between the Diamond Audio CM3/D3, Resonant Engineering SE and even the Elemental 11Kv.2 I was given the RL-I 10" as another suggestion that seems to be the best choice. I went to the soundsplinter site to order 2 of these subs and was directed to a page stating they were out of stock. Does anyone here know when they will be replenished enough for sale? I have my enclosure, amp, and H…

i was thinking of having the subs and port facing up in a net 7 cu. box, subs on the outside and the port in the middle , but i wanted to see what you guys thought, i am powering them with 2 hifonics bx2005d amps, a zx6400 for the mids/highs (4 sets of mb quartz 6.5" reference series comps), ixos signal wires, and with plenty of clean signal from (2x) 1/3 oct. 30 band audiocontrol eqt seriesII's and i am not sure yet what ohm i will wire the subs at. as for the bx2005d amp: 2000@ 1ohm, 1300@ 2ohm. and does any one know if the bx2005d puts out true power, i have heard they are a little over-rated. any ideas welcome! my truck is a 2001 ford f-150

hey, i am looking to get a 15 RL-P, but i don't want a huge box. So did some designs, and i was going to go with 2.5 net ported around 30-33. This should be quite a bit louder and lower than my 12 ported rl-p, right? Is a 2" wide port enough with 25 in of port area? it is in a trunk car, so i can't hear port noise. If not, is 2.5" wide enough? I really don't want a monster box in the trunk. Also, would a 15 sealed with 1000w be louder than my ported 12 with 800w? thanks!

"2ohm single linear voice coil (TC Sounds patented proprietary technology, first time it will hit the open market)" Does this mean the rl-s will only be able to run at 2ohm or how about will we go about wiring it up? reason im asking this is i might start looking for an amp and wanna know what it should be stable at...also for 2 subs to be wired up...thanks

i've got 2 rl-p's with 1.3 ft^3 each, maybe a few hundredths of a foot less. i put in about 30 or 35 oz of polyfill. i just kind of stuffed it in there whole. am i supposed to tear off smaller pieces before packing it? is 30-35 oz about the right amount? thats net volume, speakers factored in. might be as little as 1.2 net, i never worked the exact numbers for the final dimensions i went with.

which box (in your opinion) would be better suited for my 2 RL-p's? a 5ft sealed or 5ft net ported @ 36Hz? listening to my setup for a while (ported@36) i noticed that it peaks alot more than my boxes tuned @ 30 and i'm kinda missing my LOW notes. if i tune the ported box lower, it will drop the net lower than 5, with recommended at 2.5/per i dont want to go lower than that. so what do you think?

Ok i ordered a 15" rlp that should be here friday. Im going to have a vented box built to 3.5cf @ 28hz. What i want to know is about is vent area. Ive heard people talk about it but im not sure how it effects output and SQ. I do not trust any of the shops around here so i want to know as much about what im getting built before i go in and talk to any of them. So should i worry about vent area, or just tell them i want a 3.5cf @ 28hz box built. Thanks.

Ok after much time being spent on a stealthy instal I have narrowed it down to the RL-i 10" and the Diamond Audio M6 10" this is the M6 not the M6 markII or the D6. With the install depth, the air space limitations and the so forth these are the only two speakers I am considering. Application, 3 - 10" subs will be running off a Zapco 9.0X the impedence of the subs is not an issue due to the amazing flexibility of this amplifier. Airspace will be roughly .5 cubic feet per sub net sealed. Fiberglass tub and console have already been made so the airspace is what I have and all I have. Currently I already have one M6 which I bought to tied me over so I wouldnt be without b…

Hello all, I recently took a gamble and purchased a RL-i 10 never having heard or seen a SS driver in person. But I really didn't feel like it was much of a gamble after emailing Mike and getting my questions and concerns dealt with in a VERY timely manner.... most times within 6 hours or so of posting them. I had heard TC sounds woofers (eclipse) prior to this purchase, so I had a slight idea of what to expect.... All in all, I am extremely happy with my purchase... With only 1 10" woofer, I wasn't aiming for loud, but the RL-i exceeds my expectations by far... It gets plenty loud and sound superb while doing it. Also it gets really low for a 10. Thanks Mike for offe…

Right now, I'm running the RLp in a 2.5 ported box, tuned to 30hz via two four inch aero's. The output is pretty decent, and the response is still fairly linear. Right now, I'm itching to redo my trunk...again...to a bigger box. I plan a 3.5 cu ft tuned to 30 hz, with 57.75 sq inch of port area. Will I notice a big increase in output? I already drew out the box plans, just debating if I want t go through with it since school is a b*tch right now. Any insights is appreciated. Thanks.
