Hey, i am looking to get a 12" RL-P, and the site has been down for awhile. Does anyone have the T/s for the one with the black cone? I think it is a 2005 model. Thanks! Should 1.65 net ported at around 33 be good?

Just a quik question. Would you guys recommend a single rl-p ported or 2 rl-ps sealed. I have limited trunk space in the back of a eclipse. I I go with one sub I have to get a new amp. I currently have a Mark Antony running 2 E12ks 2nd generation at about 1400+ watts@1ohm sealed. The 2 rl-ps, if I can get another dual 2ohm would put the amp over 2000 watts. There reason I am asking is because i want to know is it sensible to run 2400 watts for a car that will probably only see a couple of local comps.

I have an 18" RL-P I just bought....im about to be installing it in ~5 cubes sealed on my 20.1 @ 1 ohm.....i think the sub is rated for 500-1000 RMS on sound splinter's website...do u think it can handle the 20.1 or is that too much power?

Would 2 vipers to 2 RLps 15's be to much? What type of amp should i get for around that price range.300-400 dollers if not less to power 2 Rlps 15's it has to make the power at .5 or 2 ohm.

Finally got the enclosures finished and in the house. Each box is 10^3 @19Hz with a single 8" port and RL-P 15. Port fires up and subs are down firing. I'm about 50/50 HT and music, so I think the higher tune is a good balance. So far I've been VERY impressed and the subs are only getting 400watts each off a Hypex plate amp. Couldn't imagine what 800+ to each one would sound like. Music has punch, hits low, and gets plenty loud with excellent SQ. Has no trouble keeping up with 6 Klipsch Legends. Also got to demo the depth charge scene from U-571 tonight. Neighbor was over and his jaw hit the floor. Much louder than the 4 Tempests they replaced. GF said the whole house fe…

Since the rl-p 18 d4's wont be in stock for a while, i think im just going to get the d2's and run them in a series off of an audioque 2200d giving them around 600 watts a piece. Would this be ok? The jl audio website says running multiple subs in series is not reccomended, is this true?

Well, I've been thinking that my RL-p 15s are underpowered. I have them down at 1 ohm on a Planet Audio 2250d that has been tested to do ~1600 rms. I have heard of people throwing 1000 - 1200 per Rl-p. I most definatley have the room to go mechanically, I just wonder if I dump 2k+ at the pair....will I run into some seriously limiting thermal problems? Box is 5.5 NET....is it just a box issue as to why my excursion isn't a ton? It gets loud...but I think there is even more bottled inside these puckers.

i got my sub from the groupbuy, it has about 2-3 hrs playing time already and every so often i would up the gains little by little, so today when i was setting the gains higher again i notice that the sub sounded like it was bottoming out. I was in the back facing the trunk so i'm looking at the sub playing "throw it up" by lil jon and at certian parts the sub sounded like poooop instead of boooom. It was when the sub had to move more out. is that bad, is there a problem? the gains was almost at max. HU: Pioneer DEH-P7600 AMP: JBL BP600.1 subs in a 1.25^3 q-logic sealed box

so i installed my rl-p i.b. again over the weekend, but this time i sealed the rear of the car completely, expanding foam, mdf, rammat etc.(fold down seats) well the sound is amazing and doesnt deteriorate as volume goes up (like it used to before i sealed her up proper) ..my question is this, i experienced a little boominess with my rl-p in a bigger sealed box (1.8 maybe 1.9 before disp)but there is absolutely no boom with the i.b.arrangement? i wonder if the trunk was the reason for the resonance / boom rather than the sub itself? because a sub in a box in a trunk is actually a sub in a box..in another box? i.b. has to be the only way to go if a car has a trunk?.....tho…

I decided to build a new box for the 18". Started with this........ Then this...... Then this........ I actually have the front, back, and top on. I just haven't taken any pix of it yet. It's bigger then the last box I had in there for the 15". I got about 7.2 cubes with this one. I'll get more pix up later. It's going to have 2 6" aero ports tuned to 34hz, and a Orion 2500d.

I use to have 6 Tang Band 8s in my vehicle and they got really loud and sounded nice. Im wondering if 3 of the RLi8s would get any louder then 2 of the RLi8s. I will be using a sealed box and am wondering if 3 would get any louder then 2 and if 4 would get any louder then 3. Thanks

I have 550-600 RMS to deliver to one of the two subs lsted in the title (RL-p or RL-i). Will the RL-i be over powered at this? I would prefer to get the RL-i. Let the opinions begin...

Just throwin this out there but ive heard these subs are great and i am wondering why when i went to some custom sub place they never heard of Soundsplinter?

The thread title asks the question. How accurate are they? Are there manufacturing allowances/tolerances? I have heard that most published T/S specs can be off by as much as +/- 20%, is this so for Soundsplinter? I want to know mainly because I want to make a maximally flat (.707 Q) sealed enclosure for my RL-p15 d2 and no matter how I run the numbers, I end up with ~1.75 cubes (I am excited about being able to use such a small box). I know the website says 3 cubes, but is this a low Q design by intention?

I have a 15" RL-p d4 paralell @ 2ohms on a Viper d1200.1. I have a horrible box(24x18.75x13) ported with a 2"diameter 7" deep aeroport) and I have no idea what it's tuned to. Basically, I'm wondering if I should just completely ditch this box, try to port it, seal it up and use it as sealed, or build an entire new box(I don't REALLY want to, but I probably will.) How would this box sound if I ported it? I saw that I can get some 4" flared aeroports for pretty cheap. Your thoughts?

I should be receiving my 12" RL-P tomorrow sometime and would like to try and get the box built for it this weekend. I've read more times than I can count that the RL-P loves to be ported, so that is definately the type of box I am leaning towards. And I want to try donwfiring since it will be in an extended cab truck. I should start by saying I have very limited dimensions but can still get the required space. The dimensions I can use are, no more than 26" high, 21" across, and 14" deep up to about 14" high and 10" deep from there up. Kinda hard to visualize? shape would kinda resemble a chair. My questions are as follows: With downfiring would the port direction matter?…

Hi I have 1 RE SE 12 in a ported box(30) with 500 watts .I want to take up a little less room and I found out about the RL-i 8s and 10s and was thinking about switching over. I will be running a PG X600.1 to the subs. How do you think 2 of these 8s or 10s would compare to the 12 I have now. Thanks for your help. MikeJ
