Anyone with any experience with the sub? How do they sound, and how much power were you feeding it?

I have a pair of rli-10's on the way to me. (Thanks Mike) They will be going into two separate boxes with these dimensions. Mounting Depth - 6" width - 20" height - 14" bottom depth - 8" top depth - 5" .66 cubic ft. interior air space per box They are going into a regular cap truck, one behind driver seat, and one behind passenger seat. My HU is a Pioneer deh-780. I also have a US amp xt2000d on the way. I listen to rock, country, and rap. I'm still learning about this car audio stuff. Should I put any poly-fill in the boxes before installing the drivers. Do they need anything special as far as break-in? What should I do with the amp as far as set-up? (gain, fre…

Well im pretty much stuck between either the rli-10s or the rlp12s. I was just wondering if the 12s would be too big to put in my ext dime? I want a good mix of SQ and power without having to put in bulletproof glass. I have an amp picked out for the 10s, a pheonix gold x600.1 but I dont know what I would power the 12s with if i decide to go the route. Thanks.

If any has a set of used 10s for sale, let me know. My nephew would love to put a pair in his truck, but is a little low on funds to pay for brand new ones.

  6. OK so I have a few uberquality phone pics for now, will post some more real pics later. Built a .49 ft^3 (.4 + .09 for displacement) enclosure out of 3/4 MDF so it'll bolt up to the 'ski hole' on my bimmer. Getting the angle to fit snug against the slope of the back seat was a little tough, but it came out in the end (my first box assembling experience). I did black carpet for the face, as I have black interior. Back of the enlosure is gray to match the carpet in the trunk. Box was screwed shut and glued / sealed using Loctite Construction Adhesive (claims no fumes, but I still let it dry 24 hours). Specs: 5.25" Vifa components in the front doors (fatmat added, more on or…

today I finished my ported box for a single RLI-8 tuned @ 33hz. It went into my wifes highlander running @ 2ohms off a digital designs SS1 and all I can say is Dammmmmm. The sound is incredable, the bass tight, clean, very musical and very loud on all music from yung yoc to some hawaiian music. I just need to tune the amp tomorrow and Iam sure it will even sound better then today (untuned). Iam glad I made this purchase and will continue to use, buy and spread the word about soundsplinter here in Hawaii.. Aloha

title really sums it up. i dont really want to build a ported box if i dont have to. Would 3 or 4 of these subs still be loud and get lows well in a sealed box?

Ok so heres the deal, its really complicated to build a box to it in your car and that will allow pvc pipe to be used instead of a slot port. I decided to use a pvc pipe because I read it has advantages over slot ports. Ok heres my question. I need to see what you all think of the box design I have came up with. I'm using .75 mdf. The box is going to be a CRX style box, and I'm trying to make it for decent sound quality. The dimensions are 11x31x24, which is equal to a GBV of 3.4 cubic ft, and a Net box volume of 3.1 Cubic ft. The pvc port is going to be 6 inches wide, and 17.7 inches long, which is supposed to tune it to 33hz, the 6 inches will give it 28.2 cubic inches …

buddy of mine is looking at the RLp 18, or a pair of RLp15's. he is worried about upper frequency extension, i planned on building a box with a swappable\pluggable port. i was wondering what people are using for box sizes, and what the best volume would be for a sealed and ported box. any recommendations\expierences would be greatly appriciated. thanks a bunch

Since the rl-p 18 d4's wont be in stock for a while, i think im just going to get the d2's and run them in a series off of an audioque 2200d giving them around 600 watts a piece. Would this be ok? The jl audio website says running multiple subs in series is not reccomended, is this true?

its weird. i play Young Bloodz - Presidential Tish and when it hits that low note, the sub moves like a mother, like ALOT but barely any bass comes out of it. is it because my box is sealed and the f3 is too high for that note? or is it something else? btw its an rlp 2.0 cubes sealed with 800w

Hey I was just wondering the amount of power that can be put through a 12 RL-P as compare with a 15 RL-P? I want to distinguish if I should get 2 12s or 1 15. I am looking for a system that has great spl but at the same time has good sq! Thanks for the help. Mike

  23. Hey, want your guys opinion on my setup and what to do. The review here and interactions with Mike have convinced me to go with a SoundSplinter. I will push it with either 310wrms (PG M44) or 500wrms (PG zx475ti). My choice due to volume is either a sealed Rlp 12" or ported 10" RLi. I haven't ordered the sub yet but have started on the mold for the box. Here are pics of the beginning.

I bought a crappy little spl meter at wal mart and gave it a run. I have a single rlp dual 4 runnin at 2 ohms and 800 watts. I played a 50 hz test tone and it hit 129.2 db at the dash. I have no sound deadener or anything yet. Is that a good reading? And how long do you play a test tone in a comp for spl? Im just wonering how loud it can get. I would imagine i could get at least 130 out of it.....I just dont know.
