Hi guys. I'm getting ready to install a 12" RL-P in my Denali. I have a directed 1100d, the sub is 2 ohms. I will be running it at 1 ohm, so I guess about 1100w rms give or take. Anyway, what's the ideal box size for a sealed enclosure for 1 12" . Space isn't a huge issue, however I would like to keep the cargo area of the suv useful. Thanks, Austin

Ive got about 900-1000w to work with, at either 2-3-4 ohms(amp switches from hi current to hi power). Im trying to decide between 2 10" RL-is, 2 12" rL-i's or 1 12" rL-p. No matter what, the setup will be sealed in a somewhat small enclosure(probably the max size would be around 2 cubes total. All opinions r welcome, Thx Shawn

I currently have a A2400DB power acoustic pushing my 2 15"s. With that amp they are getting about 900w rms each @ 1ohm. I was thinking about getting the A3000DB that would give them about 1200w rms each @ 1 ohm. Would they be ok with this much power??

hi everyone, just signed up here after finally desiding on a sub for my new setup after my last one was stolen. i think im going with the rl-p15 d2. anyhow how come with different coil config.(d2 vs.d4) there is slight differences in the bl and fs? i didt think the coil config. would really change any of that. the fs for the d2 is like 23.xx and fs for the d4 is like 27.xx! the difference in the bl bewteen the 2 is only 1 though. is it that the d2 is a slightly heavier coil? also the qts shows that the d2 would slightly favor a sealed box than the d4 would? im just trying to figure out t/s paremeters and how they interact together. thanks - chris

What size box would you recommend? I have up to 4cu.ft. of room but heard that the rl-p would be well satisfied with 3.5 or less. Also will I be happy with how loud it will get after being used to hearing my last install? From what I've read I will be with the subs sq.Thanx 4 any help.Sry 4 all the q's.

I just wanted to say thank you for putting out such an amazing little product. I just purchased an April 2k5 built SoundSplinter RL-i 8" subwoofer off of eBay after ripping a hole in the surround of my old fart JL 8w6. Needless to say, I'm definitely a SoundSplinter convert now. The quality of the product, the performance of the product, and the value of the product blow away anything I've ever experience in the 8" sub arena. Thank you again for such a wonderful line of products. Chances are, I'll be purchasing a couple revised RL-i 8" subs directly from you once they come out. It's about time to add some much needed quality to my home theater setup.

Whats up guys im new here...I post at carstereo.com alot. I recently bought an rl-p from mike at ss, and just want to say that if the sub sounds as good as his customer service is, I will be impressed!! I get the sub saturday or monday, and I cant wait. I had an aw1205n from audiocrap and I blew it within a day. I had it runnin at 1200 watts at 1 ohm, it couldn't handle it. I am going to run the rlp at 800 watts at 2 ohms. Mike said that would be enough to make the thing slam. Does anyone else run about 800 on their rl-p? Does it pound?

  18. Just put in my 12" Rl-p it pounds. But what settings should I set my amplifer to? Alpine MRD-M605 600WRMS x 1 @ 2ohms 1.21 cu. ft. internal volume Here are the settings that are available, as per the user manual: Crossover Frequency Adjustment Knob Permits adjustment of the crossover frequency, by rotating the knob to select any frequency between 30 to 200 Hz as the crossover point. 9 Lowpass Filter Slope Selector Switch The Lowpass Filter slope can be set for either 12dB/oct. or 24dB/oct.. it does sound very nice, but i was hoping the bass would be tighter. so im thinking about getting a ported box from circuit city or something just to see how it sounds. any recomendati…

Okay, so I want to mount my woofer inverted because I have two very small, but very ugly dents in the cone. This means that my box can be 7" high, 24" deep, and 30" wide. 7x24x30 MAX. So, for the most effective box SQ wise, what should I build? I'm running it @2ohms on a viper d1200.1(so about 800 watts). Thanks, guys.

This test will be performed by ear -- no meter used. So it may be an unnoticable change. New amp won't be here until next week, so I figured I would have some fun and put together a handicap match. I know that airspace is airspace for the most part, but how far can you go with box shape before it starts to affect sound? I have an area that's too short for 15's so will be using 2 diff heights on box plus shallow wedge in back. Are cubes cubes or will this affect any other factors such as tuning etc.? This is for dual 15's, open box with a single (maybe 2 but haven't decided) slot port of about 75 sq". My main concern is waves getting 'jammed' up in the 4"H, 9"D, 39"W rise in the front of the box. Or maybe that would be a good place for the slot lengthwise? BTW not written on it but width is 39" all the way.

Hey guys, I am looking for some help in determining what sub enclosure would work best for me and my truck. I listen to mainly Metal/Rock and occasionally Rap. I want deep, clear sounding bass that you can feel. I have built many sealed enclosures that have worked great but was thinking of trying out a bandpass type enclosure, something more challenging! I have an 05' Chevy Colorado EXT Cab so space is kinda limited, lost the seats a while ago for my current box! Gonna hook up two RL-P15's to a Sundown SAZ-3000D, to buy in the near future. I figure there is plenty of guys with more experience on how different enclosures react to certain types of music and drivers that ma…
