i want to know how everyone that has a rl-s is running their subs. like what are your box specs and how much power are you giving it or them? i just ordered the rl-s 12 and i will be using a kicker sx900.1 to power the sub. not sure on the box specs yet. it will be sealed for sure though. before i start on my box build, i just want to know what kinda box everyone with the rl-s is using.

Would this be too much power for them if I watched the gains? I am also thinking about upgrading to 3 rl-ps and the 2500d at .67 ohms

apparently there isnt enough room for a ported enclosure for my 2 rl-p 12's in my 87 trans am. i'm putting them in the well facing straight up, i THINK this will sound the best. thing is i havent built a box in years, and i only helped with a simple sealed box for a trunk, this one will be a lot more complex getting it to fit snug. i've got an elemental designs nine.1 amp, and i think the 12s should be right in their sweet spot with it turned up all the way at 1 ohm, right? they're d4s. i want as much space as possible right, and separate chambers for each 12? http://thirdgen.org/techbb2/showthread.php...threadid=306257 here is a design for a generic sealed box that was …

Just wondering if you guys sell recone kits for this woofer? I have a chance to pick up one pretty cheap that needs a recone and thought it would be a good sub to have.

Ive got about 900-1000w to work with, at either 2-3-4 ohms(amp switches from hi current to hi power). Im trying to decide between 2 10" RL-is, 2 12" rL-i's or 1 12" rL-p. No matter what, the setup will be sealed in a somewhat small enclosure(probably the max size would be around 2 cubes total. All opinions r welcome, Thx Shawn

alright well i have been contemplating getting an rl-p 12 and porting at something pretty low like 20 hz for home audio use. putting about 540 watts to it. im starting to wonder if this would be overkill, and if i should go with an rl-i with alil less power. i also wanted to know if there was someone who could draw me up some plans, or at least someone i could talk to about plans. thanks yall.

Basically, I just wanted to know if you would have to supply the same amount of power to a subwoofer to recieve the same performance from it whether it is in a Home Theatre (HT) setup or a car audio (CA) setup. Lets take the RL-S for example (seems to be the popular sub out right now which could be used in both applications), If we supplied the RL-S with 1500 watts of power with a caraudio amp such as one from MTX, and then we took the same RL-S and powered it with 1500 watts from a HT type amp such as one from the QSC PLX series, would the RL-S perform the same, assuming all other variables are the same. Or could you use a lesser powered HT amp and have an identical perf…

I need subwoofer witch has more than good sound, tight, musically, not just same sound putting out. So i need a HIFI subwoofer I were looking 80litres sealed box with Linkwitz Transform circuit and Linkwitz Riley 24db/okt lowpass filter. -6db point to 15hz. My amplifier works better at 4ohms so 15d2 could be better than 15d4? I got 2x1200w/4ohms or 2x 650w/8ohms. I only use channel A on my amplifier, so i nees 4 ohms to channel A. e: Is that ok? I just want good sound, soundpressure level doesn't matter, 100db is enough for me. On the attachment is my old subwoofer parameters. re 3,656 and bl 22 on my installation.

I currently have a A2400DB power acoustic pushing my 2 15"s. With that amp they are getting about 900w rms each @ 1ohm. I was thinking about getting the A3000DB that would give them about 1200w rms each @ 1 ohm. Would they be ok with this much power??

Whats up guys im new here...I post at carstereo.com alot. I recently bought an rl-p from mike at ss, and just want to say that if the sub sounds as good as his customer service is, I will be impressed!! I get the sub saturday or monday, and I cant wait. I had an aw1205n from audiocrap and I blew it within a day. I had it runnin at 1200 watts at 1 ohm, it couldn't handle it. I am going to run the rlp at 800 watts at 2 ohms. Mike said that would be enough to make the thing slam. Does anyone else run about 800 on their rl-p? Does it pound?

What size box would you recommend? I have up to 4cu.ft. of room but heard that the rl-p would be well satisfied with 3.5 or less. Also will I be happy with how loud it will get after being used to hearing my last install? From what I've read I will be with the subs sq.Thanx 4 any help.Sry 4 all the q's.

I just wanted to say thank you for putting out such an amazing little product. I just purchased an April 2k5 built SoundSplinter RL-i 8" subwoofer off of eBay after ripping a hole in the surround of my old fart JL 8w6. Needless to say, I'm definitely a SoundSplinter convert now. The quality of the product, the performance of the product, and the value of the product blow away anything I've ever experience in the 8" sub arena. Thank you again for such a wonderful line of products. Chances are, I'll be purchasing a couple revised RL-i 8" subs directly from you once they come out. It's about time to add some much needed quality to my home theater setup.

Just put in my 12" Rl-p it pounds. But what settings should I set my amplifer to? Alpine MRD-M605 600WRMS x 1 @ 2ohms 1.21 cu. ft. internal volume Here are the settings that are available, as per the user manual: Crossover Frequency Adjustment Knob Permits adjustment of the crossover frequency, by rotating the knob to select any frequency between 30 to 200 Hz as the crossover point. 9 Lowpass Filter Slope Selector Switch The Lowpass Filter slope can be set for either 12dB/oct. or 24dB/oct.. it does sound very nice, but i was hoping the bass would be tighter. so im thinking about getting a ported box from circuit city or something just to see how it sounds. any recomendati…

I'm keeping my 18", and starting on another box for it this weekend. My max dementions are 17" tall-38"wide-25" deep. That gives me just over 7.5cubes to play with. I'm going ported, and I was just trying to figure out what would be best; flaired or slotted?

Granted I've ran a lot of tc based product over the years so I'm pretty sure that the P's should handle the power but just wondering a couple of things. First whats the coil in it like winding length and layers if you don't mind and is that the tall profile surround on it? Just wondering because I may be picking up a pair in a couple of months.
