SoundSplinter

  1. Well, I'm looking to do some audio work on a '99 Integra 4-door which I recently picked up. After hearing many good things about Sound Splinter, I figure I'd give their products a try. I have been a user of RE, eD, SI, IA, RF, JL, etc. Keep in mind that I love to listen to rap with loud and low bass for demo'ing (Lil Jon, Ying Yang Twins, Three 6 Mafia, etc.) as well as Bass Mekanik/Bass 305 and some trance. I actually play my music low most of the time...just crank it up for certain occasions. Power-wise, I'll probably be feeding the subs' around 1200-2000 watts. Oh yeah, anyone with an Integra 4-door, is it possible to stuff two the RL-p 15's ported? Thanks! P.S. - I…

Okay, so I want to mount my woofer inverted because I have two very small, but very ugly dents in the cone. This means that my box can be 7" high, 24" deep, and 30" wide. 7x24x30 MAX. So, for the most effective box SQ wise, what should I build? I'm running it @2ohms on a viper d1200.1(so about 800 watts). Thanks, guys.

Could someone help me with the dimensions for a box. I'm wanting to go 1.8^3 @ 30hz. This will be for a single 12" rl-p, and will be going in the back of a tahoe, so room isnt really a problem.

Little run down, in the last 5-6 years it was 1 JL 8w3v whatever 1 JL 8w7 2 eD 10o's 1 12-claw magnum 1 12 type R (just to try and torture) 1 12 ascendant av 1 12 Mag 1 Q12 1 Q15 I know I'm forgetting a few that I've owned, installed and sold But it seems I've come full circle, back to 8(s) I'm looking at either 2-sealed rl-i8 or 1 ported The vehicle is a 2002 ford F-150 super crew and I want my seats back in it and I know I can stick 8's under the seat. The AMP is an older model Memphis Belle, that will deliver 1100@1ohm or 600@2ohm or 400@4ohm. So the question is, is SS the way to go and is it 1 ported or 2 sealed for me? I'm not sure exactly how much room is under my …

What can I say? This sub is amazing. It drools with SQ. When I first installed this sub I had never heard a SQ designed sub/enclosure. I was a little let down by the lack of SPL. Then I realized what SQ subs/enclosures are all about and set my amp up properly and I really started digging the sound. It blends in perfectly and so damn accurately. Over the weekend I spent the day installing the raammat and good lord I'm so happy with the results. The bass hits harder and deeper and more solid. It just feels better. I can't imagine how hard this thing would hit in a ported enclose tuned to say 28Hz. it would be insane. As it is it makes my hair move. What I like is how deep …

I want to have mostly a sq based system, but i still want to be able to feel some bass. I want to run 8's just to conserve some space. How well do these hit low frequencies. I mostly listen to mostly rock and R&B so i kind of need some all around performers. I can imagine they will get pretty loud in a truck, but does anyone run these in a car? If so throw me some info. I'm still not sure if i want to run 2 or 3 though. The Vehicle in question is a 2004 POntiac Grand Prix.

  12. I am looking to buy one RL-i 10" and was trying to figure out which amp I should buy. Would either of these work? I am hoping to put around 400-600 watts to it. http://www.millionbuy.com/prfap1000.html http://www.millionbuy.com/prfap1200.html Also, do the subs come with any logo on the cone? I really like the X logo, but it doesn't look like there is anything on them.

  13. Hey, i am thinking about getting an RL-P 15, and i don't want to lose too much trunk, so i am looking at 2.5 net ported around 32Hz. Since the port only has to be around 12in long, could i get by with one 4" flared precision port in a trunk car? If port noise is the only issue, my trunk is sealed off pretty well (dodge intrepid). Thanks!

Very much a rookie question, but I was wondering what kind of wiring accessories and such I will be needing in order to wire a RL-P15 and Cadence txa1000d to my Pioneer p5800mp? I think I already have a grasp on the tools and materials neded to build the box, but I am wondering more about wiring, harnesses, connections, terminal cups and the like. All I really know is I'll be needing a couple terminal cups, and some wire. But I really have no clue as to what. Please help me! Thanks.

Sorry for the ugly pic, new camera and I dunno how to use it yet Deck: Eclipse 5423 Components: CDT EF 6.5" mids, satnet 560 crossovers, and 1" silk tweets (Iguess this would be basically a 6.5 EF set? I bought the pieces seperate, but I'm pretty sure thats what ef's have.) Also not pictured is a set of .75" silk tweeters (also cdt), they are currently installed in my car and I don't need to pull em out this round. Amp: Rockford Fosgate 800a2 (200x2 RMS @ 4 ohms for those who dont know) Subs: 12" RL-p's, got 2 of em. Amp: PowerBass XA 3000D (rated at 3000x1 RMS @ 14.4v, I've heard it may be overrated but even if its 2500w, its more than enough) Batteries: 2 Napa Bluetop …

The vas for a 15" rl-p D4 is 5.225ft^3 yet the reccomended box volume is 2.1 sealed. Should i try to make the sealed volume closer to the actual vas or should this spec be completely ignored? I was thinking more like 2/3 of vas which would be 3.1ft^3. Has anyone questioned this before?

  25. Hi all, Newbie here. I have decided to purchase 2 RL-P 12's being pushed by a tantrum 1200.1. Each driver will be getting about 750 W each of clean a/b power. I am mostly looking for serious impact and the bass drum range. I want Def Leppard and AC/DC kick drums to kick the hell out of my chest. Dave Mathews' "Crash", etc. I have about a max of 4 cf I can work with. Based on this what would you recommend enclosure-wise? I know sealed always offers the smoothest curve, But I keep hearing that these drivers shine in a ported box more than many others. Can a ported box still produce tight, accurate bass that I need? Thanks all.
