Would 2 vipers to 2 RLps 15's be to much? What type of amp should i get for around that price range.300-400 dollers if not less to power 2 Rlps 15's it has to make the power at .5 or 2 ohm.

  2. Well, I'm looking to do some audio work on a '99 Integra 4-door which I recently picked up. After hearing many good things about Sound Splinter, I figure I'd give their products a try. I have been a user of RE, eD, SI, IA, RF, JL, etc. Keep in mind that I love to listen to rap with loud and low bass for demo'ing (Lil Jon, Ying Yang Twins, Three 6 Mafia, etc.) as well as Bass Mekanik/Bass 305 and some trance. I actually play my music low most of the time...just crank it up for certain occasions. Power-wise, I'll probably be feeding the subs' around 1200-2000 watts. Oh yeah, anyone with an Integra 4-door, is it possible to stuff two the RL-p 15's ported? Thanks! P.S. - I…

  4. Just wondering I have owned a fair portion of tc designed and built drivers and I was wondering how close the Rl-p's are to the old audiomobie evo-r's. They look and I stress look very similar don't know about your coil choice or if you use shorting rings etc. Just wondering because if this product is similar I think I will suggest everyone I know to deal with you since any of the tc product I have had is awsome product with the evo-r's being one of my favs as I have owned a pair of 15's and a 12, also along with evo 10's. All did a great job and this SS gear looks to be on the same page so it should be very good stuff. Thanks for any input

I cant really see any downsides of having my boy draw me a sweet ass picture on the cone. Im just not sure what it should be done with. I was thinking a black sharpie, but I was also thinking paint. What kind of paint would work for an aluminum cone that wont melt when the cone gets hot?

  6. I am looking to buy one RL-i 10" and was trying to figure out which amp I should buy. Would either of these work? I am hoping to put around 400-600 watts to it. http://www.millionbuy.com/prfap1000.html http://www.millionbuy.com/prfap1200.html Also, do the subs come with any logo on the cone? I really like the X logo, but it doesn't look like there is anything on them.

I am looking to build a box for 2 15 rl-ps. My max dimensions are 44 D x 17 h x 19 D. I am looking to put both subs on the left side with the port all the way to the right side. I want to tune to about 30 hz. Thanks.

Could someone help me with the dimensions for a box. I'm wanting to go 1.8^3 @ 30hz. This will be for a single 12" rl-p, and will be going in the back of a tahoe, so room isnt really a problem.

Ok I ordered two RL-P 12's from the group buy and they will hopefully be showing up pretty soon now so I wanna get ready for them. My box will be approx 2.7 cubic foot shared fiberglass box for both subs (so about 1.35 or so each sub), should I stuff will polyfill and how much? Also will a Lanzar Opti2000D run at .5 ohm work well in this application? It is bit of power, but I figure it will work well running sealed. Here is the amp: http://lanzar.com/citempage.asp?MODEL=RBOPTI2000D I am getting excited now that my system is finally coming together, lol B)

Man you have the RL-i's looking so good that it is an injustice to the RL-p's. It actually looks like the RL-i's are your premium line. Of couse if this is gonna take away any time from the RL-s then forget it.......the site looks great!!!

Get it yesterday and its seen about 3 hours of play time and its working great. Very basic looking which I like, BUT I also didnt know you could get chit put on the cone. its in 2.5cubes gross, 2.3ish net. Box sounds good, I like big sealeds, definitly muddy on some songs. Woofer is working great im not pushing it hard right now but ill open it up in another few weeks. So far its a good woofer. I'm anticipating opening it in up a few weeks to justlfy the 300 dollar price tag, also at which time I will have tried it out in a ported box so I can make that comparasion. With that Im off to do some more tuning, and crank Guns N Roses. And im going to eat a Rochester Garbage pl…

  16. Hey, I am looking for my next up front sub. Need to run a small box of course and I have been running WinISD charts of these subs: RL-i8 RL-i10 Image Dynamics ID8 d4 v.3 Dayton Audio 10" TITANIC III A Qtc of .71 is the goal. CHART#1:RL-i8, ID8, 10" TITANIC GAIN CHART: RL-i8, RL-i10, ID8 SPL CHART: RL-i8, RL-i10, ID8 I have about 280-350 watts and already have a .25 cu ft box. This is about as big as I want to go upfront. Looks like the ID8 has the potential for good output with my power but the RL-i8 & Rl-i10 are more in line with my box size? May try another box program. Any thoughts?

  17. First of all I want to say thanks to Mike for kickin ass and I love my RL-p. So I have an RL-p 12 in a .55cuft net sealed box (its inside the cab of my car behind the pass seat, I hate the way trunks make bass sound muffled and quiet). It's running off of a PPI 2150 (about 500-600wrms). I had a local high end audio shop run software for this sub (and confirmed their numbers with other internet sites) for a Q of .7 Seeing how that is what most sq people rec I went with that. My question, the speaker seems to distort when driven hard and I'm trying to figure out if it is the speaker distorting or the amp clipping. Freeair testing this sub it looks like it can move way fart…

I am posting this hear rather than the amplifier section on the team ssa forums, simply because there are more SS users right here If this should be moved, thats np at all. What I need is an amp to power my single RL-p 12" D2. So im looking at 1 ohm and 4 ohms. for budget it would reeally be nice not to be broke after, and have to save up for weeks again to get some comps. Things like the eD 9.1 for 350 is probably the highest I want to go. and I know that there is a lot of hifonics things that can do the job. at the same time I have heard alot of nasty stories about em. This is my first system.. and can upgrade later, just want to get the ball rolling on it. Any a…

Hey is there anyone in Michigan (west Michigan) or anywhere in the Midwest, looking for sound splinter subs. I am only looking for one so I wouldn't mind adding another for someone to get the discount and shipping. I am looking for two doesn't matter to me which one I get first, either an rl-i8 or rl-p12. Thank Andy

Not sure if this has been released yet, but, how is the inductance. I loved my XXX, but I got rid of it, for the fact that, even in a sealed enclosure it had little output above 60 hz. Is this Proto or RL-S going to be able to have a little more extension in the upper bass range?

effendi's post about soundsplinter's bandwagon (which i like to think i'm partially responsible for) got me to thinking... notice anything different about this one compared to others? like, noone claims the soundsplinter sub is the endall to woofers? the rl-p is a great driver, everybody mentions that, but in certain cases i've seen other subs recommended over it (myself included). be it power issues, money issues or whatever... is this a reflection of the owner? i mean, he'll go so far as to say his driver isn't the one a person wants based upon projected application. he'll also sign his subs, which is totally cool, IMO. i guess what i'm getting at is this, most bandw…

It sounds like it will fit your criteria perfectly. 38 mm xmax with a ruler flat bl curver and a price tag right under what you're looking to spend. It will walk all over all 3 of your current choices. is this true, if so any other info, is there a proto out
