I have asked about TL's in the past with little success, I would love to try the 8 in a TL or Snail Shell box, a sub that beefy in a really nice box could work some magic, and since it needs a larger box the 8 would be the best choice for me to start with unless I could try a rl-i 10 with that design (note: my initial attempt was to put eclipse alum 10's in a double shot style box but never could nail down plans)

Ive got about 900-1000w to work with, at either 2-3-4 ohms(amp switches from hi current to hi power). Im trying to decide between 2 10" RL-is, 2 12" rL-i's or 1 12" rL-p. No matter what, the setup will be sealed in a somewhat small enclosure(probably the max size would be around 2 cubes total. All opinions r welcome, Thx Shawn

Alright, iam stuck trying to find out what should i get, 1 rl-p 15 or 2 rl-p 15's or 2 rl-p 12's. I have a Neon, and have an AudioBahn A2502DP here brand new, never used, it can do 1000x1 bridged at 2 ohm and 750x2 in 1 ohm. I wanted to know from mike or any others, what are your opinions. Thanks in advance!

Well, I've pretty much narrowed my first sub down to this baby. I've heard nothing but good reviews from it. I origionally was looking at a Type R but from what I'm hearing this should be much better. Just a few questions for you guys. Will one 12" be enough to get fairly low and shake some chit up? I'm looking at a Hifonics Nemesis Series NX750D to power it. Should that work out well? The only thing I'm not to sure on is how to rig it up to the amp with all of the 2 and 4 ohm stuff. It gets a little confusing for a newb. Also, what kind of box would I be looking for. I'd like to build one but if there is a decent premade one it would be cool. Sorry for all of …

I just realized that I've never posted this over here. I put it one CA.com a while ago, but it would be nice to copy it onto this board, considering the content. So... This being my first sub box, I was a bit unprepared for fiberglass. Skin allergies and fiberglass fibers/resin/sharp points do not mix very well. Also, it

I am currently running a eD 15a powered by a PG 1200.1 in a 1.5 ft^3 sealed box. I was wondering how the SQ of the RL-P compared to that of the 15a (both in the 15" version and in the recommend sealed box). I know that SQ varies from my ears to your ears, but I just wondering what people think that have listened to both. I enjoy the 15a but I think that I can get something better. I know that both subs share a similar motors, but the coils and suspension on the RL-P are an suposedly an improvement over the 15a. I do not want to spend my hard earned money on a sub that will not be that much of an improvement. Thanks in advance, Matt

Ok, I've decided that I want to go with a set of Rl-p's. Either way I go, I have enough room for the recommended enclosure sizes. They will be powered by an eD Nine.1. The problem is, do I go with 15's or 12's? I listen to mainly rap, and I want it to wang hard. However, I do listen to classic rock from time to time. Maybe you guys can help me decide on 12's or 15's? Thanks, Ry

Ok, I have 1 RL-p 12" d4 en route to me right now. I have a 1.4cf sealed enclosure awaiting its arrival. My task now is to select an amp for the beast. I see the rms watts listed for the sub @ 500. Should I be looking for an amp that produces less that that (300-400 rms), or is the 500-600 range rms gonna be ok? I have certain size restrictions, as the amp cant be much over 14" wide. I am open to really any model, I guess I dont have a preference. This is my first dive into 'real' equipment, as in the past, I have only used, what I would call entry level stuff. I have considered phoenix gold, mtx, planet audio, hifonics..but, I dont know what by todays standards…

ok, ok.. got this bad boy installed in the recommended .17ft^3. with the t/s parameters mike listed, this thing can mechanically handle 1600 wrms before exceeding xmax...thermally, well, that's a test for another day..lol. anyway, i've got it wired for 2 ohm and running off the hifonics nx750d in my wife's car, so it's getting a rated 400wrms. and i'll say this, i think the 400 is just tickling this thing..lol. it, while moving, isn't being stressed at all. it's a cool lil sub. musically, wow! from freak-a-leek to speaker box intro to pour some sugar on me..it just doesn't miss a beat! i do believe the box is a lil on the small side, but then again, it does a great job of…

As many of you may have heard, we indeed have some exciting news about TC Sounds' Linear Motor technology. After years of development, and months of negociations, SoundSplinter has been granted exclusive rights to be the first distributor of Linear Motor technology enabled drivers! Few prototypes have been made thus far, but those that were have been given exceptionally high acclaim by those who have experienced them. My goal is to work with TC Sounds to continue this saga in appropriate fashion, bringing to market a truly awesome driver, capable of massive excursion, huge output, high power handling, all with incredibly low distortion and a beastliness that will amaze…

Ok, as you may or may not know, SS has eliminated the dual 2ohm/coil version from their Rl-p line up. However, Mike as allowed us to organize a group buy, where he will special order a run of D2 Rl-p's for those interested. As always, rules apply, and here they are as set out by Mike; So, first things first, we need to guage interest in this group buy (as it is specified that a minimum of 15 orders must be placed), and a decision on the size of driver must be made (as it will only apply to either the 12" or 15", but not both). So, please cast your vote and say if you are definitely in.

2 ft^3 tuned to 28Hz with 30 in^2 of port area. Never took any pics of the build though Click on the pic for a bigger one. Still needs to be sanded off and finished. Used a mixture of glue and MDF dust to seal it up, works great, and so easy to sand. Need to fill the screw holes, and cover. This might turn into just a test mule box, not sure yet what I want to do yet. Here is the box design (Excel spreadsheet): Click Here Pr0n available soon.

i have one Rl-i12 sub and i'm designing a vented box for it in program called 'Bassbox'. i know vented enclosure is not recommended for this sub but it won't be run with more than 300-400watts anyway. oh and this box won't be used in a car but at home. so now i'm not sure about the size, volume of the box. the same is with diameter and length of the vent. well i want to know what would u recommend for each one of this exemples individually: 1. what would u recommend for BEST PERFORMANCE of the driver? 2. ....for low tuning. ap. 22hz oh please tell me also what do u recommend for car box (i will probably build one later on...). that's it... size, volume etc... thanks, Pek…

which box (in your opinion) would be better suited for my 2 RL-p's? a 5ft sealed or 5ft net ported @ 36Hz? listening to my setup for a while (ported@36) i noticed that it peaks alot more than my boxes tuned @ 30 and i'm kinda missing my LOW notes. if i tune the ported box lower, it will drop the net lower than 5, with recommended at 2.5/per i dont want to go lower than that. so what do you think?
