  5. I am becoming more and more convinced that the RL-I 10" driver will be the driver of choice for my new system in my 2003 Dodge Ram Quad Cab. Ive purchased a stealth box that installs under the rear seat providing enclosure space for 2 10"s with .65 cube of airspace per 10". After debating between the Diamond Audio CM3/D3, Resonant Engineering SE and even the Elemental 11Kv.2 I was given the RL-I 10" as another suggestion that seems to be the best choice. I went to the soundsplinter site to order 2 of these subs and was directed to a page stating they were out of stock. Does anyone here know when they will be replenished enough for sale? I have my enclosure, amp, and H…

  7. Just wondering where is SoundSplinter located and if it is possible to pick up a sub in person to save on shipping costs. Also, I have an '01 Accord sedan and I'm thinking of going with a single RL-p 18" driver. It will be pushed by a DLS A6 at 1 ohm (1200w). Is it better to go sealed or ported? I just took out my DD 9515 and the enclosure for that is 5.5 cubes net I believe. I really want to get loud when needed. I did a 140.4 recently with a Kicker ZX 2500.1 so I'm looking to get into the 140's with the RL-p on the A6. Is it possible? Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm either gonna use the RL-p 18 or a 12" Brahma MKI. Brahma will be gettin same power …

Hi everybody, I used to have a 10" Alpine type-R powered with a 300w RMS amp from Hifonics, these got stolen so i need a new bassmaker After emailing with mike from soundsplinter, i've decided to purchase a RL-i 8 D4 as soon as they are back in stock. So for now i'm looking for a good/affordable amp to use this woofer to its right. The Rl-i8 will be getting a sealed box, to get a nice SQ setup. I really would like to hear some suggestions for a good amp and how to set this up right! Thanks! FYI the RL-i8 will be working together with the following components: Front: Polk DB6750 Rear: Polk MMC690 Powered by a Polk C400.4 These speakers get about 100w RMS from this amp.…

Hey. i want to choose a sub that can work well in a small sealed box. in the price range i can afford, i found three contenders : rl-i 10 DLS UR-10 and Ground Zero Uranium 10 sorry for the language in the ground zero link... i asked for small sealed box application, because the designer said sealed box woofers work well in the DeathBox. there is one decware forum member which uses an rl-p 12 in the 12" version of the deathbox with great results. but i already have the box built and want to buy a ten. 500w rms @ 8 ohm available. sq oriented home theater setup. i live in romania, but the cost of shipping an rl-i is reasonable in my opinion.

  11. I am having a hell of a time deciding on a box size and tuning freq for a pair of RL-P 12's pushed with 1500 watts of class a/b power. I want major major impact with rock music. Metallica, AC/DC, Def Leppard, etc. I love Dave Mathews, when his bass drum kicks I want to feel it. I guess the big question is where exactly does the bass drum fall in the freq range? Is it in the high 30 and into the 40's where the green plot would do best? Or is it in the mid 20's to low 30's where the blue plot would be best? Or lastly a compromise of both as the red plot shows. I am so confused on which route to take. I do not listen to rap, so I don't care about that. Mostly rock, jazz and…

my speakers are wired together at 1 ohm, and they've never been hooked up independently. just one of them will pop if i play really heavy bass and turn it up, when it reaches full excursion, but the other one never does. i've been using my deck boost at +5, turned up to 26/35, with the amp up all the way and amp bass boost off. if i was giving them too much power, shouldnt they both be popping? i dont know if it was doing it when i first hooked it up, i hadnt played it at full volume with the hatch open until today. it isnt noticeable if im inside the car, the bass overwhelms it. i've been keeping my deck turned down to 23-25 so that it doesnt do it, but id like to be abl…

I have been learning to use winisd beta, and it is really strange how the rlp models. it suggests like a .4 cube box with a port freq of 38hz. When i punch in 2 cubes at 28, it has an odd peak very low, and is like 2-3db down as the freq increases. Conversely, i also have an ED 13ov.2, and it models quite linearly in similar boxes. ( i have run them both in the same box, and they do sound quite similar) any ideas?

Well I talked her into going with me, and entering her first comp today. Her setup is 2 RL-i 8" sealed (1.3cubes) with a Directed 1500D. A TL mic was used, sealed at the dash she put up a 135.8. She's now decided that she wants a ported box, lol.

Well, I've pretty much narrowed my first sub down to this baby. I've heard nothing but good reviews from it. I origionally was looking at a Type R but from what I'm hearing this should be much better. Just a few questions for you guys. Will one 12" be enough to get fairly low and shake some chit up? I'm looking at a Hifonics Nemesis Series NX750D to power it. Should that work out well? The only thing I'm not to sure on is how to rig it up to the amp with all of the 2 and 4 ohm stuff. It gets a little confusing for a newb. Also, what kind of box would I be looking for. I'd like to build one but if there is a decent premade one it would be cool. Sorry for all of …

  22. I am currently runnign 2 13kv2's sealed with about 450 per sub. I metered it at about 132 in the trunk of my Altima. i am wanting more output and am lookign at goign with 2 12RL-ps in a ported box with about 700 per sub. Will I see a noticable difference in output? Just wondering if spending the $450 bucks for new subs will be worth it.

  23. I am looking to buy one RL-i 10" and was trying to figure out which amp I should buy. Would either of these work? I am hoping to put around 400-600 watts to it. http://www.millionbuy.com/prfap1000.html http://www.millionbuy.com/prfap1200.html Also, do the subs come with any logo on the cone? I really like the X logo, but it doesn't look like there is anything on them.

I have been shopping around for new subs for a long time now, switching back and fourth from all kinds of speakers, but in this forum, EVERYONE seems to be happy with soundsplinter. i can't believe it noone has NOTHING bad to say about these subs, which say a lot about the product. i'm looking for decent sq, but really high spl, and from what i've read on the forums on both here and on sounddomain.com, these sound like the speakers that would match my wants. i still want to know a little more, though... to me it sounds almost too good to be true. the subs were compared to re xxx's on sounddomain and a few people said that these subs are about what and what (the 15's), bu…
