I bought 2 15" RLP D4's a couple months ago and finished installing them in my Nissan Titan last weekend. The subs and ports are both firing upward in the cab. I have them hooked up to an elemental designs ed 9.1 amp at 1 ohm. I set the gains using a -3dB 50hz sine wave and set the output to 34.64 VAC which equates to 1200watts. The subs are in separate 2.75ft ported boxes tuned to 29Hz with 30 square inches of port area. The problem I am having is the subs dont get loud at all even though they have alot of excursion. My brothers system (in an S-10) which is 2 old sounstream spl 12's in sealed enlosures running off of a kicker kx350 blows mine away. I have an Alpi…

Someone on another forum is building me a box for 90 shipped and I was wondering if the specs he gave me will be alright? Thanks!! 38" width and 16" height so that your box fits flush with the sides and top of your trunk... The depth comes out to 17"... which makes your net volume 3 cubic feet after driver and port displacements. your port is 3" wide, 14.4" high (making port area 43.5") and 43" long (this is VERY long but makes your tuning 28, which will sound amazing)

I am looking to build a box for 2 15 rl-ps. My max dimensions are 44 D x 17 h x 19 D. I am looking to put both subs on the left side with the port all the way to the right side. I want to tune to about 30 hz. Thanks.

I'm out to get the most from my pair of RL-p 15s. I am more than likely going to be acquiring a 1994 Explorer to replace my Cougar soon. Space is even more so, no longer an issue. I have around 800 - 1000 RMS on tap per 15. Depends on how proper the rating on my amp is. Currently, they are housed in 5.5 NET @ 33hz w/ 72in^ port area. I would like suggestions/personal experiences as to what would be louder. I personally would like to try 6.25 NET @ 32hz w/ 110in^2 port area. Thoughts/Random comments all welcome.

Well after some delay in trying to figure out the proper enclosure size for my RL-p 15, it's finally in. Thanks again Mike for putting up with all my emails . It's in a 2.0 net sealed box, temporarily being powered by my Fosgate Power 451S amp. The sub is getting ~230 watts (not much eh?) It will soon be mated to an Arc Audio 1500-XXK. This setup replaced my previous 12" Brahma in a 2.5 cu ft box, tuned to 28 hz. Now onto the review! Only got to listen to the sub for 5 hours or so today. But from what I'm hearing already...I'm VERY content with my purchase! This thing can get pretty loud with only 230 watts. I can only imagine how it'll sound with almost 4 times as mu…

Greetings loyal customers, fans, strangers, veterans and nooblets alike. It is with some dismay that I am here to announce an increase in our direct sales pricing that will affect all SoundSplinter products. As many informed online audio enthusiasts are already aware, our producer (original equipment manufacturer) has recently decided to move towards full scale retail distribution in conjunction with some incredible markups along the order of 100% - 200% per unit. Though initially hoping that these markups would not affect our OEM pricing schedule, it turns out that indeed they will. As a result, future production costs for the SoundSplinter brand are increasing substa…

Hey guys, new here. I've been looking to buy a subwoofer for my vehicle (a subaru Forester), and I thought I had decided on a JL 10w6v2, but I don't really want to spend that much on a driver, and I wasn't sure it was the best bang for the buck. I stumbled accross soundsplinter while browsing a few audio forums, and I noticed their generally favorable reviews. I did some research on the site, and saw that these drivers were supplied (or at least the motors) by TC-Sounds. Owning and SVS 25-31 PCi myself, and having a friend who owns a PC PLUS with a TC-Sounds driver, I am well aware of the quality of these drivers. Here's my question. I was wondering if the RL-i 10 wou…

I have a Neon, and have an AudioBahn A2502DP here brand new, never used, it can do 1000x1 bridged at 2 ohm and 750x2 in 1 ohm. I wanted to know from mike or any others, what are your opinions. my first run rl-p ( painted logoless cone) has started to die. it's not dead, but it's on it's way. so i'm retireing it. i guess too many 2500wrms runs in 2.5ft^3 tuned to 28hz. but boy did it sound good down that low and that loud..lol... i'm going to miss it.. but it's replaced, albeit for a short while, but a LA audio x2...at least it's another tcsounds product.. so, do i send it in..or make it a really pretty and heavy paperweight?? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Hi all, I will be running 2, RL-i8's via an MMATS D1100.1 (2006 model) which outputs 750WRMS at 1 ohm. Each driver will have a full .414 cu^3 and will be in sealed enclosure. I was hoping that the MMATS would output slightly more than the rated power. Unfortunately, the amp does not come with a birthsheet so I have no way of knowing. Will the RL-i8's perform well with this particular setup? I was hoping to run a 900 WRMS amp however I picked up the MMATS for a great price. I increased the original volume from .3 cu^3 to .414 cu^3 in order to compensate somewhat. This is going into a Toyota Matrix in the hatch area with the drivers firing upwards. What do you think? Regard…
