Hey all i was thinkin about doin a bandpass for my RL-p. would be an interesting project, having the bass ported directly into the cabin through my first aid kit hole. Mr. Coleman said it would be the best bet so i wont lose any of the bass in the trunk space (or something like that). What are yall opinions on that?

should be hooking up my rl-ps and having a listen tomorrow after work. i played them with no box when i first got them just to make sure they worked and all since one of the boxes came kind of bashed up. started turning up my nine.1, and they just werent moving much so i ended up turning it up all the way. i realize itll be different in a box, but just want to know whats what before i starting breaking stuff. i have a +18 bass boost on the amp, and i can turn the sub from -10 to +10 on my top of the line kenwood excelon x979 deck. i believe they are either 4.5 or 5 volt preamp outs. i think im going to want a bit more than the amp up all the way. i'll be better off turnin…

  6. i was thinking of having the subs and port facing up in a net 7 cu. box, subs on the outside and the port in the middle , but i wanted to see what you guys thought, i am powering them with 2 hifonics bx2005d amps, a zx6400 for the mids/highs (4 sets of mb quartz 6.5" reference series comps), ixos signal wires, and with plenty of clean signal from (2x) 1/3 oct. 30 band audiocontrol eqt seriesII's and i am not sure yet what ohm i will wire the subs at. as for the bx2005d amp: 2000@ 1ohm, 1300@ 2ohm. and does any one know if the bx2005d puts out true power, i have heard they are a little over-rated. any ideas welcome! my truck is a 2001 ford f-150

Hi everyone, quick question...i have a 12" rl-p D4 and want to make a ported enclosure while maintaining the BEST SQ I can (if it makes any difference, I listen mainly to rock). I was told 1.5 cubes tuned to 28 hz. Does this sound accurate?

And should i use a double front frame ? What amplifier is good for the rlp 12" D2, dont want to pay to much for a amp. Thanks.

Once again i forgot to take more pics during the build. i was too eager to finish lol. these are some beefy 8s! i had a couple of 4" aeros i wasn't using so i decided to use it for this build. the circles on the flush panel didnt come out 100% round. i need a jasper jig and router. putting the port together... test fit currently have it in my car til he picks it up. got my arc sending the pair around 800 or so. i'm VERY impressed with their output. to my ear, it's close to my RLp 15 sealed. SQ is pretty nice as well. it's pretty punchy with rock and stuff, quick with the dance/techno, and drops low with hip hop. i think he'll like it.

I've reserved free use of a table saw down at a local shop tomorrow. It'll be a simple common chamber, sealed enclosure for 2 15" rlp. Internal dimensions of 19"H 15"W1 17"W2 30"L. Woofer displacement is .42 and that leaves me .2 for box bracing. Internal space for the woofers is the reccomended 2.1. I'd call it a simple, fail-safe enclosure, right? Any ideas? Subs will be facing forward, although i'd like them to downfire. I suppose it'll be built tomorrow...

wanting to try some "different" subs. I've read alot of great reviews on these. Each sub will have approx. 900 watts rms. This will be a daily vehicle so tuned around 30-35hz. I do compete in db drag but mainly bass race. Vehicle will be a 2001 2 door blazer. Thanks in advance.

ok. im building a fiberglass enclosure for my soon to have rl-p 15, right now its setup to be a ported box it appears it will be 3-3.5^ft net internal dimentions, so once the sub and port are in...it shrinks down significantly, now i want one heck of a pounding sub, i'd be overjoyed with ~140 db, ill have a MA audio 1200wrmsx1@1ohm amp going to it, it will all be in the trunk,im hoping to get the 2ohm dvc one but i only see the 4ohm on the site...i sent and email about that, hopefully i can get the 2ohm, so my question is is that gonna be too small for ported or should i plug the hole and seal it up, which with it being fiberglass would be a whole lot easier to do, will i…

hey, i am looking to get a 15 RL-P, but i don't want a huge box. So did some designs, and i was going to go with 2.5 net ported around 30-33. This should be quite a bit louder and lower than my 12 ported rl-p, right? Is a 2" wide port enough with 25 in of port area? it is in a trunk car, so i can't hear port noise. If not, is 2.5" wide enough? I really don't want a monster box in the trunk. Also, would a 15 sealed with 1000w be louder than my ported 12 with 800w? thanks!

which box (in your opinion) would be better suited for my 2 RL-p's? a 5ft sealed or 5ft net ported @ 36Hz? listening to my setup for a while (ported@36) i noticed that it peaks alot more than my boxes tuned @ 30 and i'm kinda missing my LOW notes. if i tune the ported box lower, it will drop the net lower than 5, with recommended at 2.5/per i dont want to go lower than that. so what do you think?

I am still up in the air as to how I am going to install the little monster. I have wanted one for a long time, now that I have one, I almost want a second one to pair up with it. So I want to start thinking about a very good SQ box with enough output for the bass to make it out of my trunk and into the cabin, which by the way the RL-p 12D2 is having some trouble with an Orion 8002 on it (just to give you and idea as to how much bass is trapped in the trunk). Anway, I looked around a decent amount and listening to Mike, I am thinking I will go ported. Even though I would love sealed but know it will not have the output I need. So according to Mikes measurements, the …

I can't remember the size of the last box I had the 2 in but they sounded awesome. Ported tuned low and they will be powered by a sundown 3000d Thanks
