Competitions & Other Organized SPL/SQ Events

Hey guys, I'm copying and pasting a post from HACKMUNCH from another forum...here's the deal... "well some might have heard that me,micksh and a friend of ours has been in contact with wayne about doing db drag shows in ohio. wayne has givin us the go ahead to do 1x dbdrag shows. once we get certified by greg zoller at the end of the year we will be certified to do 2x and 3x shows in 2014. that being said we have allready secured about 7 to 8 shows in the northern ohio region and have spots open for about 3 to 4 more. our goal is to do about 10 shows in northern ohio in 2013. steve mick will also be doing 1x dbdrag shows in southern ohio and greg zoller will be doing abou…

All of the competition topics are dead on alot of the forums. We as a brotherhood/community/family need to work on this IMO. There's still alot of us out here and we could get some decent sized shows if we put them out there. I'm trying to organize an event here in Muskingum County, Ohio. Already got the green light from the local speed way and a food vendor. It will be a benefit for a local teacher who was just diagnosed with Brain Cancer. Hi! I was hoping to get ya'lls (sorry, I'm not from the south so I may have spelled that wrong) input on infinite baffle setups. To preface, I'm not very interested in SPL... I'm an SQ guy. So I know one of the downsides is that I won't get loud booming bass with my setup. But what are the other drawbacks and/or benefits, assuming that I seal my trunk off perfectly? All I've used in the past were sealed enclosures and I really liked the quickness of my subs. Due to the way my trunk is laid out, though, it makes it pretty tough to build an enclosure that's attached to the rear deck (trust me!). So IB will be the easiest installation, I think. Figured I'd throw a thread up for people to post vids,pics whatever from finals and the 3x. Inac score was a 152.5 in stock pro 2. Don't know about place yet because my score was lost. For the 3x the next day I put up a 152.6 good for first place and the west coast championship.

ill be having a termlab booth for the car show.. no points no awards just fun runs. you can pre regester for 10 bucks if you want to park inside with the SPL cars. or 25 at the gate. or you can pay for runs,. come in and do your run then park back out side the gates... or you can come enjoy the cook off, car show, glow off SPL runs. beer shopping booths live music and live entertainment let me know if you want to pre regester ... i need to get a head count of pre.. and a quess of how many maybes for the day that want to park and play INSIDE the gates. thanks guys.

Well, I attended my first audio competition yesterday, though I did not compete. I was there just to take it all in and watch how things went, visit with fellow enthusiasts, and have fun. It was a small MECA event. There were a few breaking the 50 mark with a VW bug that hit a 53.5 at around 50hz or so(don't remember exact). I had fun and now I am curious to see where it goes from here, lol.
