Is there any way I can get schematics for an old USA 2000X, USA1000 and USA-150? they all need repairs and being the other side of the pond in blighty I'd rather repair them myself. The USA 150 has smoked some FETs and PSU diodes. The USA 1000 cuts out intermittantly (could just be a dry joint) both those have been abused a bit in the past (not by me, I'm trying to bring them back to their former glory and give them a good home) The USA 2000X was reverse polaritied by a moron (along with the rest of my car when he tried to jump start it) and now has PSU/system noise appearing on the audio, probably jsut a diode gone somewhere but schematic would make it somewhat easier t…

I've got an offer for a brand new MD.23 for $250 shipped....I'm guessing it doesn't have a warranty..? How do you US Amps hold up? Do they tend to break down a lot or are they pretty stable? I would buy with warranty but its almost $450 more than this guy is offering for from my understanding...the price of an extra 2 non-warranty MD.23's. Does anyone know where to get these for significantly cheaper than $700 and still have a warranty? Regardless of the warranty, how do you like the Merlin line itself? Is it a big step down from the AX line? What other company's amps does the Merlin line compare to? Have any of you guys used the MD.23, or are you familiar with it a…

I absolutely loved the old school USA-2000 I used on my front stage at 8 ohms a few years ago. But, now that I have sold all four that I had (like a nutcase!) I am interested in what would be as good or better in the near future. I am considering switching to a 4 ohm load so I am very interested in the old USA2000x. My questions center around comparing these models to some of the newer lines. Would I be better off with the amps mentioned above or something like AX-1000, AX-2000, MD23, or maybe some similar 4 channel models bridged to 2? I have been thinking old school the whole time because I haven't kept up to date on the new stuff enough to know how it compares. T…

Hi, I'm from Germany and I have bought an US Amps Merlin MD-23 Amp on Ebay earlier this year. I never opened it because I didn't have time to work on my car. Today I finally wanted to look inside my new Amp and I was shocked. On the Packaging Box and the Chassis it says MD-23 but on the Board it says MD-22. So I guess I was deceived by the Ebay seller. But I wanted to be sure, so is there any attribute that could tell for sure which Amp I do have here? I'm looking forward to any reply you can give me =) Greets Eric

I have a US Amps USA 800 pushing 4 15's I also have 4 Zapco C2K 9.0's in the closet, My ride has Zapco on the mids and highs so I am going to put the 9.0's on the subs. I think the information on this amp(USA-800)is interesting for those browsing this forum and I'm checking to see if there is enough interest to warrant selling it. The following is a portion of the ad from when I purchased the amp. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's one I'd be tickled pink to find under my Christmas tree...one of the original 50 US AMPS USA-800!! This is THE bad-boy cheater amp, with sound quality creditials. Truely the absolute be…

Does anyone know ANYTHING about this amp??? I have been looking and cant find too much info on these at all. I know that it supposed to do 3k @ 1 ohm, but thats about it. I have an opportunity to get two of these blown (not burnt) for a really good deal but I need to get all the info I can first. I also want to know if these are meant to be run strictly at 1 ohm or can it go down to .5. Any info good and bad will help. Thanks

well, i talked to JR today, and i got some cool news. along with a cosmetic makeover the new MD1 MD2 and MD3 are all class DE like the AX's, as well as strappable (finally) the XT2000D and the XT4000D both have 20% more output and are using 110v (i think) power supplies instead of the original 70v next time i stop by usamps ill try to snap some more pix of the new Merlin sexiness. more updates to come as they show up.

I have so many US AMPS and I like them a lot. They are loud and shiney and sound great. The plexiglass bottoms are ingenious. They really add to the character of this well built amplifier. Just thought id share. I have been through my fair share of USAMPS. I even have some for sale. Ill be selling them even on this forum after I accumulate 25 posts! What do you guys think of USAMPS? Here are some pics of some of my US AMPS. Beautiful arent they?

Hi all, I'm new! My name is Francesco, from Italy Two questions: 1. Where I can find U.S. Amps IS2150 Manual? 2. Today I tested it but there's a little problem... If I put signal on right input channel I find speaker output on left channel and viceversa! The board is REV. A. Is possible that the IN-OUT RCA serigraphy is wrong? (Normally RED is right and WHITE is left...) I also find some distorsion on both channel but i'm not fully sure because I used only a 200mm woofer. Power cable in photo is just to test it..if it works I give it a 2AWG Some photos: I hope you can help me, thanks in advance!!

I have this amp and it worked well until i let my friend borrow then i got it back and it doesnt produce any sound. The first thing i noticed when i turn it on is that it makes a clicking noise. I know what makes the noise its the black peice in the picture. it powers up but no sound comes out. What is THE piece and has anyone had this problem also is it fixable? I also noticed that if i set the input voltage to 9.6volts it wont make the sound, but when i turn it up above 9.7 it clicks. even at 9.6 volts it won't work. Also it only makes one click like a fuse and makes it when i turn it off. Also the little white thing in between the 2 big black circles, i dont know what…

I'm currently running a rockford fosgate amp to a single sealed rli-8 s4 directly coupled to my cabin (via the ski pass hole). The SQ is great, but at higher volumes I think the amp is not so clean. I've got a 1 farad cap and battery is in the trunk, and my radar detector displays system voltage and it's very stable. I was thinking of replacing this amp with a XT 800.2. I think is is sized appropriately. The Rockford Fosgate I'm running is the previous generation of this model: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/pr...S&p_status= Sound like a plan? TIA! -Ron

I've searched all over and have found only a little info on this amp. I do have the white pages. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. This amp should be very flexible for the install but I'm not sure how to use it best.

well in terms of the class D's....greg just told me that they use the same circuitry as each other. as for the A/B amps, they are totally redesigned, the USacoustics redesign was scrapped, and are now lookin like the old Florida amps. i guess the only difference is the AX line is infinitely strappable. so yea thats GREAT news to hear im thinkin i might go all merlins next.

i just installed an md2d in place of a hifonics bxi1606d. before i had installed the md2d, i tested it and it was fine. when i finally screwed the md2d amp in place of the hifonics and hooked everything up, it didnt turn on. i checked the fuses and they were blown. i replace the fuses and they blew again. the set-up and wiring is the same as it was with the hifonics. i just switch the hifonics out and the m2d2 in. what am i doing wrong. the grounds and wires are all okay. i even tried it with the remote turn-on lead out and the speaker wires out and rcas out. and i tried it with the dual amp disconnected from the setup as well. what do i do? o and the bxi1606d had 140A t…
