US AMPS

  1. Started by Oak244,

Ok, I just got a long e-mail from the guy I bought my USA-600x from. He asked what my system was like, so I told him, and he claims I have way too much power! He quarentee's me that the USA-300x I plan to put on my sub will blow the sub for sure, and that the 600x will murder my CDT ES520 set! This is his quote... "You should get a 200X new style 7" chassis to drive your 520 europoops, a 400X to drive 4 of your 8's and a 600X to drive 2 of your 12" woofarts" "I had guys ask me how come a 200 watts US Amps keeps blowing 1000 watts woofers. I told them the 1000 watts woofer was actually 100.0 watts RMS (US Amps watts) the decimal point is missing that's why. One USA-10…

Hi guys I just thought I would ask here to save Flakko from too many more of my Pms : XT-1600.2 / IS 2200: Are these pretty much the same (internal wise)? I keep being told by various people that the XT are brilliant but will not hold up like the other USamps will, do they mean that in a 'you can't play them in to lower loads than recommended as well', or is it a 'they are going to die on me before the other would under normal useage'? MD22: Hows comes they stopped this? Was there somethign wrong with the design? Is it worth spending the extra on the MD22 over the above XT if they're going to be under normal useage? Oh and something in for the above models in general: …

what are the actual specifications for these two amplifiers? i keep seeing different ratings from different sites. even from the thread on here compared to the us amps site. lookin for the stats on paper.. not how much they put out when they were benchtested, i know theyre underrated.

some quick thoughts.... 1) this is a great looking amp! the problem would be how to install it, lol. i mean, rightside up and you can't see the internals. upside down and you can't see the nicely done case/heatsink. talk about a dilemma. 2)the set screws are entirely way too close to the case. it would be nice to see them just a bit further away, not much, but you can already see rubmarks on the case from previous installs. 3) a subsonic filter on a stereo amplifier? nice touch! it would be even sweeter if it was adjustable instead of just on or off. 4) the bridging is reversed. instead of L+ and R-, it's R+ and L-, which meant i had it hooked up wrong and had to refer t…

  6. I bought a DE-1000 (notice: not 1000-DE) to power a TC Sounds 10" OEM. I was under the impression that the amp put out 1000 watts at 2ohms, cause that's what the US Amps site lists it at. However, I spoke with Greg at US Amps a few minutes ago and he claimed that it did 700x1@2ohms 1000x1@1ohm. He did not state that the US Amps site was wrong, but just said that's what it did. The US Amps site lists the DE-1000 stable down to 1.5 ohms. It rates it for 1000x1@2ohms. According to Amp Guts, the 1000-DE is rated at 700x1@2 ohms, and 1000x1@1 ohm. So what does it really put out? Was Greg simply confused between the two? (I did call back and ask him about the 1000-DE vs. the D…

well in terms of the class D's....greg just told me that they use the same circuitry as each other. as for the A/B amps, they are totally redesigned, the USacoustics redesign was scrapped, and are now lookin like the old Florida amps. i guess the only difference is the AX line is infinitely strappable. so yea thats GREAT news to hear im thinkin i might go all merlins next.

Hi guys, new to the forum... just looking for some input from people that are familiar with US Amps and RE Audio. I just dropped some cash for my new system, and was curious about your opinions on my choices. I haven't installed anything yet except the deck as the amps and cap won't be here until next week: 2001 GMC Sierra Stepside - (STANDARD CAB!) Subs: 2 RE Audio SE 10 inch (new logo) - will be wired to 1 ohm Enclosure: Custom Built Sealed @ .65 cu ft each (optimum according to RE) - 3\4" MDF (Air tight, trust me!) I'm trying to find some good photos of recent productions of the XT4000D. Reason being is that I think this guy sold me a counterfeit amp. I'm going to post pictures of this suspect in a few minutes. I was just here hoping to find something that might help me prove this fake. I did at least buy it on my credit card so I'm safe there.

wondering what these amps do power wise I know a guy who has one or maybe it was the VL-200. He said 1000watts or 600watts don't remember. Think he wants like $300 for it. for a used old school amp that may or may not last a couple years I figured I'm over it. was thinking it'd be nice to have though. I recently sold my USA50 that never once gave me such as a hiccup of a bad time . not too loud but still. never had a single time where it went into protect on me or anything like that... thinkin it'd be nice if the bigger amp did the same for years of playing...

i just installed an md2d in place of a hifonics bxi1606d. before i had installed the md2d, i tested it and it was fine. when i finally screwed the md2d amp in place of the hifonics and hooked everything up, it didnt turn on. i checked the fuses and they were blown. i replace the fuses and they blew again. the set-up and wiring is the same as it was with the hifonics. i just switch the hifonics out and the m2d2 in. what am i doing wrong. the grounds and wires are all okay. i even tried it with the remote turn-on lead out and the speaker wires out and rcas out. and i tried it with the dual amp disconnected from the setup as well. what do i do? o and the bxi1606d had 140A t…

I just got one of these not too long ago and finally hooked it up to my VLX-400 and my USA-150. Now my question is the setting of the "gain" on the crossover. From what I understand in the 2000 manual, that knob controls input voltage to the the amp from 0-9 volts. I have it at 3/4 on every channel. I didn't have time for long term testing and nothing sounded distorted or anything. I just want to make sure I'm not going to damage my speakers by having it at that point. So my question is, it it actually a gain knob, or does it act like a line driver and just increase the voltage while turning it up (obviously unlike a line driver, it is not adding voltage to the 8 vo…

Just wondering if US will be making anymore really large ab's like the 6000x etc or what happend to the ones they had left I always wanted to play with one. Anyways back on topic the only reason I ask is because 1 I love Ab's even if they do pull amps like crazy, and 2 because I also like soundsplinters LMT's but since they are 4ohm your pretty limited and most big ab's make power at either 4 or 2 ohms.

Feeling very proud to use USAMPS ,i just wanted to let everyone know what these amps are capable of...In our SEAT MARBELLA (very much like a Panda)using two USA 6000 and 2 15'' RE AUDIO MTs (2 ohm/coil paralled) driven by one Stinger SP 1700,we hit 158,7 dbs@ 66 HZ, certified in Street max 1-2 class at the 2005 Hellenic Finals. The real crazy thing is that it only took us 2 hours of tuning (we took the first measurement 8 hours before the beginning of the event) to reach that score, so anyone can understand the potential of this setup.... Imagine the score after one month of testing, at the right impedance and at a higher tuning frequency (69 - 71 HZ).......
