US AMPS

Many people say that the old school us amps were better probably because they were made in the US.At least in the 21st Century how good or bad in terms of circuitry are the amps compared to old.( I know US Amps AX Line are made here)

US Amps Merlin M2130 US Amps auction Never seen one like this, just curious if anyone knows anything about it.

So against my better judgement I bought a used US-AMPS DE-3000 off of ebay. The seller had over 200 positive feedbacks and no negs, and the price was too good to pass up; and the seller was NOT the guy-who-might-be-milo in the thread below. When I got it and hooked it up, it belched white smoke before I even put a load on it. One of the capacitors inside actually caught on fire, without blowing the fuse I was using to protect the amp, which was a first for me. Anyway, is there any easy way to look at the components used and verify that it was an original US-amps product? All i can say is WOW... just wow. im a believer Jim, ima believer. the music got louder, more detailed, and most importantly it doesnt clip! i have to listen to all my music again tubes forever. i cant believe im only getting around 100w from this amp... but one thing is wierd...sometimes when i change tracks, the amp doesnt kick on... gotta wait a few seconds, and it comes on. i dont know whats up with that.

Well, it has been a while since I last posted, and I finally got around to hooking up my IS4065 in my car (the guy who bought my Planet Audio VX3002 wanted it). Well, I had been procrastinating doing it because I figured it would sound the same, well, if I had known what I do now, it would have been swapped out waay ahead of time. I turned on the car to set everything up and I noticed that my music sounded different. I quickly eq'ed something not even listening (just setting my typical eq because i had to switch from network mode to regular mode). The first song I played had tons more detail than ever before. I have an i/s 4065 and am debating whether or not to run this for my Z6 comps. It would have to be bridged and that would be at 3ohms...is this possible for the 4ohm stable amp or a definite no-go? Thanks

I have this US Amps 200, looks to be made in the 90s, no crossover. Works great, but gets kind of warm running bridged at 2ohm. I recently got a Ascendant avalanche and those subs come in dual 2ohms so i was thinking about running the amp at 1ohm bridged. I've heard from some people that its possible with a little modification, i'm no electric engineer, but i've modded a decent amount of ps1/ps2 and built some headphone amps so i'm tempted to try this. Besides swamping the capacitors w/ higher voltage capacitors, what eles could i replace on this amp? Is there anything i can add? Could i just leave it as is and just cool it better? thanks in advance for any help

I was going through the site and happened upon these Vaccum Tube Hybrid amps that USAmps sells and got curious. I have been thinking about a tube amp, only because I have heard how warm they are (whatever the hell that means). And I have been looking for a different sound so I have been considering a tube amp. First off has anyone heard one of these first hand? What do you think? To any of you harware gurus, what do you see as the pluses and minuses on this concept? Simple question, What is the input sensitivity on the Merlin series amps? I searched the US Amps website but couldnt find the info. I'm contemplating on buying an MD21 to power a pair of components, just curious what their input sensitivity is.

OK heres the deal I have the SAT software but now I need to find the Black box interface that goes from the amp to the old 232 Serial port. Does anyone have one of these SAT Interface boxes that can tell me whats in the box and what I would have to do to make one or have one they might want to get ride off?

alright so the amp i originaly wanted has been discontinued, i found it but i think i will go with a good company instead. i am now torn between US, and Sundown. it basically comes down to the price and where i can find it. since this is the US Amp section i thought i would ask you guys. whats the price on the US MD-2D? and what are some internet dealers?

I just read a thread on sounddomain.com in the amplifier forum that u.s. amps is doing a recall on all 2005 ax amps. Is this true and if so why? Say it ain't so joe.

Hi all, I'm new! My name is Francesco, from Italy Two questions: 1. Where I can find U.S. Amps IS2150 Manual? 2. Today I tested it but there's a little problem... If I put signal on right input channel I find speaker output on left channel and viceversa! The board is REV. A. Is possible that the IN-OUT RCA serigraphy is wrong? (Normally RED is right and WHITE is left...) I also find some distorsion on both channel but i'm not fully sure because I used only a 200mm woofer. Just wondering if US will be making anymore really large ab's like the 6000x etc or what happend to the ones they had left I always wanted to play with one. Anyways back on topic the only reason I ask is because 1 I love Ab's even if they do pull amps like crazy, and 2 because I also like soundsplinters LMT's but since they are 4ohm your pretty limited and most big ab's make power at either 4 or 2 ohms.
