Are the merlin mono blocks .5 ohm stable?

Hi guys, last weekend I picked up 2 of the US Amps AX1000 (for now), and I'm using them to run (3) 2 ohm Cadence Wild Beast subs (for now). How do you strap the amps together without using the magic "MLT" box? Under the plexiglass, I can see the "master/slave" switches for both channels, but I'm a little leary doing anything to the circuit board without some instruction. Down the road, I'm planning on adding at least 2 more AX1000's and one more sub, but this current set up will get me thru the week. Thanks, in advance

I hooked them up using the MLT, linked together, and I can not get them to push my 2 AQ HD3's with the same power. I have tried everything I know to tune them but they will not push them with the same authority. I can get them to be working the same on a test tone but whenever I play music the subs do not hit the same frequencies with the same authority. One will hit the low frequencies good and the other will hit the mid to high frequencies better. What is going on? I tried to turn all the gains to the same point but that just makes one sub hit hard and the other one will be lagging. Has anyone benched one yet to see how much power they put out? I am wanting to know how much continuous power they have been tested to put out at a 1 ohm load, before clipping, at what voltage did it put out that power, what THD, etc. I just want to hear from some people that have actually tested them

Has anyone ever tested it to see what it really puts out? i know most people say us amps are why under rated but since i have a 2000x i wounder by how much.

I have two of the 2004 model MD2D amps and was wondering if they were strappable or if it was a god idea to do so? I'm planning on running them on two Orion H2 15's with dual 4 ohm coils. Would i be safer to just run each amp to a single sub?

Hello So people are saying the 2007 MD series are the same as AX series.(Is this true) Can someone explain. I also keep hearimg the 2007 MD-2D and MD-3D are underated but not MD-1D.(if so whats up with that) Thanks

I am just wondering how the new XT series and VLX series amps are compared to some of the amps from the past. I am looking at these amps and they are a steal for the power they claim to put out and the efficiency they claim. If someone could tell me how they are now I would greatly appreciate it and also if someone could explain to me what some of the differences are between the VLX and XT series amps are because spec. wise they look very similar but their is a $100 price difference.

I'm trying to find some good photos of recent productions of the XT4000D. Reason being is that I think this guy sold me a counterfeit amp. I'm going to post pictures of this suspect in a few minutes. I was just here hoping to find something that might help me prove this fake. I did at least buy it on my credit card so I'm safe there.

well, i talked to JR today, and i got some cool news. along with a cosmetic makeover the new MD1 MD2 and MD3 are all class DE like the AX's, as well as strappable (finally) the XT2000D and the XT4000D both have 20% more output and are using 110v (i think) power supplies instead of the original 70v next time i stop by usamps ill try to snap some more pix of the new Merlin sexiness. more updates to come as they show up.

what are the actual specifications for these two amplifiers? i keep seeing different ratings from different sites. even from the thread on here compared to the us amps site. lookin for the stats on paper.. not how much they put out when they were benchtested, i know theyre underrated.

about the md 1d is supposed to draw 90 amps at 1 ohm1200 rms but how many would it draw at 2 ohms 750 rms..im guessing about 55 -60 amps,i really wanna stay away from a ho alt,400 bucks is alot of money for one,and i believe 750 rms a be good enough for everyday listening,need to keep my hearing

Hey flakko, I was wondering if you can get ahold of something that would make my amps look like one big amp sitting side by side. Kind of like the older RF amps, just an endcap that connects 2 amps and makes it look like the amp continues on. It is for the IS series BTW. I think it would look sweet if I could do that. I'm currently running a rockford fosgate amp to a single sealed rli-8 s4 directly coupled to my cabin (via the ski pass hole). The SQ is great, but at higher volumes I think the amp is not so clean. I've got a 1 farad cap and battery is in the trunk, and my radar detector displays system voltage and it's very stable. I was thinking of replacing this amp with a XT 800.2.
