The price on these have finally fallen into the "affordable" category for us, so we bought one against our better judgment. But man is this car awesome! 306hp, and shifts like it's on drugs.

So after doing extensive research and a good number of Saturdays driving to go see different cars, yesterday something happened. Leading up to it, our favorite was the E320, a rock solid car, loads of safety features, good performance and the '96 - 2002 is one of the best ratted and most reliable used cars PERIOD. But the problem is that this car is to replace Amanda's 2 door civic, and I took her to test drive a few good examples of 99's or newer E320's. She felt intimidated by them, was nervous to drive them and struggled at first to park one. So we checked out the c230 Kompressor, it was too small for what we wanted and does not have as good a track record as the E…

I'm lookin' at buying this 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350. It has a 4 barrel Holley carb swap as well as a shift kit in the transmission, along with chrome valve covers and other misc. visual stuff under the hood. One of the main problems with it is that the speedometer is off. Way off. In fact, it's around 20 mph too fast. I'm thinking whoever installed the shift kit might have broken some teeth on the speedo gear. I was wondering if any of you have had a similar problem with the speedo being off, or know of anything else that may be wrong with it.

So jim cursed me, misread one of the off-topic posts and thought something was wrong with my car, and now there is. first...the car.... 98 dodge stratus 2.4l auto 130k miles (for our canadian brethren) the problem, i get in the car, crank it up, and something is vibrating in the engine, almost like a rod knock, but its not as...metallic, and it vibrates the whole vehicle, since you all are audio people you'll know what i mean, its like right at the resonance freq of the plastic inside the car or something. When does it do it? here is the strange part, i noticed it while parked, eliminating a good number of things, like wheel bearing (you'll understand later) and …

I've seen some pretty crazy stretches, from 10"s to around 14"s.. I'm looking on this one site and they're offering a 20" and over custom. I'm curious as to why? A 4" to around 10" I can understand because if you add power to the bike, it's gonna further space where the torque is applied and thus make it harder for it to lift the front tire. Anything over 16" is pretty much going to put completely you out behind the rear fender.. I can get for drag racing but if you're gonna do that, you're not going to worry about buying it online and you're just gonna build one from scratch that way you can get over a 330 tire and just run a drag slick for a car, not to mention that you…

hey guys! got some quick questions about struts/strut towers/suspension in a 2000 Avalon XLS. I'll describe the problem first and then tell you what the toyota dealership quoted the problem and solution would be. I have a 2000 Avalon XLS, pretty good condition that I bought from my uncle. 105,000 miles on it and all the options. I've noticed some problems with the suspension though. Some things I've noticed are a "clunking" noise from the rear when I go over bumps, the car kind of "skips" across the road, especially when i am like...merging into traffic at higher speeds on the turn and when it hits a crack in the road while i'm turning, the car feels like it really jumps …

So I took the E55 to the stealership today to get that oil leak checked out and fixed. Got to talking with the service representatives and she claims that, as long as you use a Mercedes approved oil (MB 229.5) and filter, oil change intervals are 10 months/10,000 miles. Given that dealing with stealerships and their asshattery ranks one notch below "getting anally probed" on my "Things I Enjoy" list, I came here to seek council. So basically: bullshit, maybe, yes? I honestly haven't a clue.

Ok, I read the sticky... and I'll be searching google this week as well. My truck will be out of paint this week. I thought I'd stop by here first and get everybody's advice before I scour the net... What are the do's and don'ts? I'm a n00bx for exterior car care. My truck was peeling/cracking bad b/c of the horrible 1992 Dodge Stock paintjob. So, how long before I really work on it... and what should I do first? Thanks! nG

The Shelby Cobra 427 might be the queen of replicas. But what happens if a german firm decides it wants to build the "ultimate version ?" What happens is the Weineck Cobra 780CUI Limited Edition. 780 cui (cubic inches) mean 12,9 liters of capacity, for this monstruos V8 engine. Torque is 1.760 Nm at 5,600 rpm. Power output is 1,100 hp at 7,000 rpm. The power to weight ratio is 0,9 Kg / hp. Weinbeck doesn't even bother declaring acceleration data from 0-100 km/h. From 0-200 km/h the Ultimate takes only 4.9 seconds, from 0-300 km/h it takes only 10 s !!! Interested ? Better hurry: "Limited Edition" means only 15 will be produced.

Well, yesterday i noticed the interior lights were doing funny tricks on the good ol' range rover. It's a '93 classic so it uses Lucas electric. OH BOY! So it usually starts and runs just fine, but the battery was drained, so I decide to charge it today. Go to start it, turns over a bunch, acts like its gonna start, but doesn't. So idk whats going on. The engine is going to come out anyways, its just the other electrical that is worrying me. The fuses are fine, just everything is behaving very strangely

After I get the credit card bill for all my audio equipment payed off, I think I'm going to get a loan on a small Japanese car. Budget will be around 10k, I'd like to get something '02 or newer with less than 70k miles. I really like this Accord, it seems like a pretty good deal, and I like the 2-doors. My friend has a newer (I think its an '05) Maxima and I like it pretty good too. I'd like to get a manual transmission, but they seem to be fairly rare. I've always wanted a WRX, but I'm thinking that would be out of my price range. I guess Toyotas are out due to the whole unintended acceleration mess. I've always heard good things about Toyotas, but have lost a lot of f…

Ok guys, I'm just looking for suggestions on tinting my taillights and headlights. I have an 08 Ford Escape and looking for a smoked or dark black look, but I want my brake lights to be decently visible. I'm wondering if you guys recommend any brands for pre-cut tints for head and tail lights. Or if you guys recommend any other ways to tint my lights, i'm open for it. Thanks and any suggestions are appreciated!

Just looking for a little input from people who have used or know about these certain model tires. Vehicle is the little Mazda P5. 2700lbs soaking wet, will gain a few when I finally get around to the audio. Size is 195/50/16. Currently, I am doing a lot of high way miles, much of it stop and go. No plans to track the car in the near future. Bad weather is prevalent in this area of course, but not super bad. Biggest needs are all around traction, braking, durability and light weight for the MPG'z. Price is a factor, as I have something coming that will hit me quite hard $$$ wise so I cannot get the Michelins I would like to get. Currently, only one tire is in sho…
