Looking at buying my buddies 1988 (if I remember right) Pontiac Firebird Formula. 5.0 Multi Port Fuel Injected. Has Flowmasters from the headers back dual exhuast, and some chips........ Its red with pretty damn nice paint. Minimal underbody rust. Sound worth about 2500?? Has (again if I remember right) 114K on it. J

Ok, I read the sticky... and I'll be searching google this week as well. My truck will be out of paint this week. I thought I'd stop by here first and get everybody's advice before I scour the net... What are the do's and don'ts? I'm a n00bx for exterior car care. My truck was peeling/cracking bad b/c of the horrible 1992 Dodge Stock paintjob. I have a 91 Honda Accord. I currently have a cheap rattler unlock and remote start. It doesnt work, the remote works fine and im not really sure whats wrong with it. IF you have any ideas what I could check would be helpful. I check the fuses on the brain of it and they were perfectly fine. I was thinking about getting a reasonable alarm. I dont feel I really need a 2 way device, Im mainly just look for a nice alarm with a remote start. I have been looking at some of the viper products. I plan on installing it myself. any help would be great Any help on how to fix the current remote unlock would be great. Thanks

i purchased a viper alarm remote start 5901 and the installer is saying i have to use both stock alarm and then viper remote start. i know there is a way to get by this the wiring diagram doesnt show an arm and disarm so im looking for this and maybe a by pass does anyone know anyway to help me so i do not have to use the stock remote and only use the viper remote for the alarm remote start and door locks help asap

I'm thinking of doing a custom grille for my Caddy, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good source for chrome wire mesh (like the aftermarket ones for the Chrysler 300C, or the Jaguar ones)... if I can't find anything guess I'll have to find one made for another car and chop it up... I was out in my car today doin some work to it and decided to measure resistance on connections. I measured somethin interesting and don't know what it means so am hoping somebody here might. I removed all wire going to positive battery terminal under the hood except for factory wiring. When testing factory wiring to ground, i get a reading of 1,320 - 1,780 ohms. What does that mean? Apparently, is does mean power is touching ground but in the most least resistance possible. How low of a resistance reading does a connection have to be to start causing battery damage?

Right now I currently have a basic viper remote door locks and starter but its pretty much done for. Ive been looking at car alarms and I was wondering what your guys thoughts are for something not too expensive but still nice I dont really need anything crazy because I drive a 91 accord with a mach 5 sub and sundown amp. I was looking at the viper 791xv. Any help would be great thanks.

so my exhaust manifold on my 1995 accord ex coupe (2.2L sohc vtec) is cracked. i was quoted 150ish for the oem replacement part from my shop but i'd be willing to spend a few more dollars for an aftermarket header or if the price is right a new bolt in exhaust system (header + cat-back). i'm wondering what to expect when purchasing a performance header, what extra costs to look out for, etc. any suggestions?

I have a problem, about a year ago I was going to a party in Austin. My friend decided it would be funny to open the door on the freeway. Anyways, the force of the winds pushed my window out of the sleeve on the door. We managed to get it to go back, but ever since. It will go on the sleeve of the door up to almost the top then it pops out again. I checked to see if it was coming off the track, and it's not it just moves a small bit and then that misaligns it. I was just wondering if any of yall, have had this problem and what yall did to fix it.

was wondering what kind of car alarms you guys have? i as thinking of getting one of those clifford g5 models..

Anybody know how much weight a door on a 2door car can handle before it would start to stress or sag over time? I may plan on doin a lot of liquid deadening to it for competition and that alone will add some weight to it.... Then later on down the rode i may decide to remove the factory door panel and replace with a full custom mold with a couple speakers in it... If what i want to do in the long run should put too much weight on the door, what would i need and where should i look at online for it?

I am looking for suggestions on a new vehicel. 01-05. I have been looking at trucks, I want the durability of a truck with the comfort of a suv. I originally wanted a tahoe or yukon, but they are a little out of my price range. I want a ext cab, as it seems the best suited for me. There will be a nice setup in it, I already have a sub and mid and high amp also already have a radio. I haven't yet decided between which brand but would want a half ton, I have no need for anything bigger.
