Hey guys, well last time i made the thread about how i was having car problems and the mechanic said it might be transmission problems. i went and got a second opinion and what was happening was rodents had gotten underneath my car, and i guess thew started to chew through some of the wires. i need help on how to stop this from happening. I dont live anywhere out of the ordinary so it weird that it just happened to my car. anybody know of anything to keep i guess squirrels or rats, mice away from car so they wont chew through wires. thanks guys

I plan on getting one very soon, and was wondering about how much trunk/hatch space is there, roughly. Ive searched online, but they only give the total volume size of the entire cabin. Any help would be appreciated. Sizes for the width, depth and the height of the lowest part of the hatch(planning my system ahead of time....obsessed...lol ) Thanks in advance

No crank, no luck with push start, it's a 5sp stick, drove it earlier several times, half tank of gas, but now it's dead dead. Not even a jump helped, our clock won't even come on. Just got a job interview today, hired, and need to figure this out by Monday or it goes up in smoke Any ideas? Had it for three months.

  5. This looks to be very close to production ready. There is a fuel tank on the passenger seat and a number of markings all on the inside of the car. But either way, very sweet looking car so far:

  12. How much would you budget for a full swap, removing the sohc v6, and swapping the awd drive train and v8 from a mountaineer into a 2dr exploder, start to finish? I plan to pick up a second donor vehicle by summer, so I'll have plenty of parts, but I've never been involved with a swap before. I'm definitely paying someone for labor, and taking notes. I've seen a few done, but all anyone remarks on price is "lots" which is frustrating. I'm hoping this project costs less than $6k to complete, 7500 tops

On Feb. 2nd, 1992, a brand new sand / mocha colored Ford Explorer XLT 4x4 joined the family. This may be my fair well to a terminally ill old friend. Over the years the Mocha Monster had many little changes and tweaks (engine/suspension/exhaust/system the list goes on). I passed my drivers test in her with a perfect score, while all the other people in line in their rinky compacts failed to repeat that glorious performance. She has safely carried me for over 215k miles, and has covered every eastern state as well as most central states. Hauled countless soccer and ultimate frisbee players to endless tournaments in all weather at all hours, only faultering once. A …

Started side-tracking a thread with Mr. Bob, so I'm dragging it back over here. It's been a good many years since I got the parts and built it so I don't remember the specifics, but basically a high compression N/A 383. Only was able to get it to the track once last year. Pep Boys Z-rated tires from 2002, mail-order tune, stock shifter, stock suspension, "granny shifted" etc., ran a 12.8 @ 114 MPH. Hoping with a couple small changes, like oh, traction, a tune, I can get it to dip into the 11s. Couple pics. No exciting videos, sorry. But, at least you can see it runs now...LOL

make sence ??? in my black lincoln i cooked rectifires left and right.. so much so that i kept a spare H/O alt i would switch them out and rebuild as needed about every 3 months,. so this time im looking not to have to do so .. i m looking to gain the power im loseing to heat back.. and NOT cook my factory, nor my H/O when i get it. let me know.. ok here goes Alternators make AC (alternating) current using a bridge rectifier with diodes to convert that AC current into DC (direct) current for use by the vehicle's electrical system. When your alternator's voltage regulator senses the need for electricity the regulator tells the alternator to start making electrical…

  22. If anyone's looking for a cheap alternative. I've been wanting to try and clear my headlights up, they were all yellow and foggy. I did some searching around online and used some ideas for a mixture that came out sweeet. 1. I put two large squirts of shampoo in a cheap spray bottle, filled it with water, shook it, then added a few capfulls of bleach. 2. Sprayed a rag with the mix and squirted a good bit of toothpaste with whitening on the rag. (the grit in the toothpaste is what really helps) 3. Sprayed the headlights with the mix real good and scrubbed the toothpaste on with the rag. Kept spraying the light with the mix and adding toothpaste when needed. Did so for about…

i picked this truck up a few weeks ago, for almost a steal, its a 1993 6.5 turbo with a 5 speed, crew cab long bed. it runs drives but bellows white smoke at start up and does so for 15 mins or so untill its hot, then it smokes no longer, i have been trouble shooting the smoke issue, turns out it can be alot of things. currently i am going thru the glow plugs, and what nots hoping this fixs it, if not it can be fuel injectors, injector pump timing chain fuel return, i have narrowed it down to those as the smoke smells of raw fuel. and not anti freeze, and i also do not use any. this should be a good truck to have around, for the jet skies, to pull my car around to l…
