Gabe Leblanc and my self are in the process of rebuilding a 1983 Cutlass. We are in the process of doing body work at the moment. Once the car is in primer; we will moving on to the audio work. Then we will bring it back to finish the paint. We started making vids and will gradually get better at that part. lol The second update video is up. The car ia a good deal further than this currently. We should have another one up by early next week; hopefully.

Ok this is my truck. I posted it here before. Uploaded with ImageShack.us I just started the basics I shaved my xm and onstar off the roof. I installed a factory second battery and dual optimas. Looking into dual alternator bracket. installed a pioneer head unit with steeling wheel controls and bose amp interface Uploaded with ImageShack.us I tore out my back seat and am adding a sub. Trying to see what and where I can fit everything. Uploaded with ImageShack.us I finally found my wind noise it was the stupid cab vents. I am looking into soundproofing options. After much searching I have decided to use an adhesive a little like the sds site and cover it wi…

Mechman was kind enough to custom machine a case including powder coating (Mechman Orange) and build me this alternator since it's a rare request for a hyundai santa fe. They had it built from scratch and shipped inside of two weeks! Anyways, a good friend of mine is a certified master mechanic and has some time on the weekend, so he is going to install this for me. It's in a really tough spot IMO, bottom front corner of the engine bay, and believe me, it's stuffed in there. On to the Pictures!

This little build here is for a co-worker. He bought the old Hifonics equipment out of the van from me and plans on giving this truck to his son to drive in about a year or less. The system was designed on a fairly short budget, though he didn't want to cut many corners there's still almost $1,000 in it. Equipment consists of a Hifonics ZXi 6006 amp for the components, a Hifonics BXi2006D sub amp, a pair of 12" Hifonics Zeus subs, CDT COM-626 6.5" 2 way components and a JVC KD-HDR60 head unit. He purchased a "custom" enclosure from ebay for an easy fit under the rear seat. It's a sealed enclosure totaling 2.2cuft. net volume (according to the manufacturer) and he rai…

Hey Everyone, I've been reading this forums for a while and only recently created an account to start posting. This has become my favorite car audio site, especially since it has a great interface for my phone at work Anyways, here's the first car I bought, a 96 v6 Camry xle, and it is time to start it's journey in car audio. It will be a long one as I like to save for a while and buy bigger after learning my lesson going cheap and regretting/wanting more. I won't post my plans for the car as they change somewhat every time i sit down and put some thought to it. I'll mainly be updating as parts show up on my doorstep, past the point of no return for me haha. Heres…

well i finallllyyyy get my mustang back in a few days from doing the T5 transmission swap. i have been slowly but surely getting a system together for it. This system is not meant to get loud and rattle everything apart. i listen to country and rock MOSTLY when i drive. but i rarley listen to the music because i LOVE listening to the sound of the V8 under the hood and duel exhaust anyways, here is what i have so far.... 2 12" kicker CVR's 1 kicker ZR240 (oldschool made in U.S.A amp ) and pioneer speakers all around. now my question is should i get a sealed box for the 12's, or ported? eventually (when the money is there) im switching to either 1 RE audio 12, 1 Fi audio…

Ok so finally the build is on! My car has been in the shop for two months getting an engine swap(95 2.2 n/a in a 91). So anyway this is my first time every logging a car stereo build. I'm not new to forums but I am new to this car audio forum. Here's a shot of the parts: I've already started removing the dash and old Eclipse HU that was in the car. Supposibly the kid I bought the car from bought the car from a car stereo installer. I can confirm that by the very nice previous install of the HU. All twisted wiring cut to length. Here's a shot: This is what it looks like under the hood: Ok back to it...more to follow...! MR2

Okay, so as I'm waiting for my SA-8 to get here (as patiently as I can!) I'll put the build of my center console box for it. It's an old beater minivan for my everyday vehicle, but I'm just trying to have some fun. I don't have the area or tools to do the kind of work I'm used to being able to put out (maybe I'll share some of those pics sometime) since I'm working on some flimsy stands with a jigsaw, circular saw, and sander, but it'll do for this project. And so I begin... The wood...good old 3/4" MDF The sides cut out Test fit of sides

Decided against the underseat box since i have very little experience. Once im more confident in doing bevels and cutting angles i think ill do it. Well i am Liam from England been into car audio for 4 years now i have had the car from standard to what it looks like today all work has been done/paid for by me. The main aim for the car was a streetbasser that competes in propper droppers which is a format over here that tests how flat your system plays between 20Hz and 40Hz they test the system with the termlab on the passenger headrest and a window or door open, they test 20,25,33,40Hz and your peak then you get an average i am currently the loudest system in walled under 6,000rms. I have had 4 walled systems in the car over the last 2 years. 6 12s flat wall, 8 budget 12s ported tunnel then replaced the budget sub…
