I just purchased a 15" sp4 d1 with all the bells and whistles. Now i have read that it is best in a 4th order enclosure. In the Fi specs it states its 3-5 cubes in 4th order enclosure. Now my question is then since im a newbie at 4th order. Is this correct: ported side 5 cubes so sealed side has to be half that so 2.5/2.71(counting woofer displacement) or should the motor be in the ported side? and what do i have to tune the ported side to? what is the best tuning for this sub? This is going in a 2012 chrysler 300. I will be running a kicker zx2500.1 at 2 ohms (that should be enough power right?) . My buddy said 65 herts so is that correct? I listen to alot of dubstep and…

What subs should we use for 4th order BP? We want a LOW tune around 25Hz-30Hz. Plenty of airspace available, 2 20"x20" square ports. 2 18's. Run off either one or two AP30001Ds.

Well I purchased this explorer the Monday 12-22-08. So I've had it a few weeks. The truck is dent free, interior is near perfect, very good find IMO. the only body issue it has is some rust on the rockers (hidden when the door is shut)--It'll be taken to the local shop to get those taken care of. Anyhow this is a fairly undecided build other than it'll fit in the MECA class S1 or S2, needs to do roughly 150-154db (headrest on the T/L) So far I have and think I'm installing: 1 Sundown 3000d, 2 Sundown Nightshade 12's D1 (however I plan on running a single 10" woofer and more power for the final setup--Need a company to get me a big beast of a 10 hint hint..) The HU is a…

So I am posting this a part of the criteria of the Second Skin Audio Promotion give away. I would like to start by thanking Anthony from Second Skin as well as everyone at Second Skin!! Now onto the review.. Upon pick up of the deadner as soon as i grabbed the box I knew the deadner would be great. You could feel it in the wieght of the box itself lol..! Any how I tossed the box into the trunk and instantly popped open the box and was at a loss of words when i saw how nice the black backing looks on this stuff. As I pulled out a sheet I could already tell Damplifier Pro was a much better deadner than Dynamat Extreme wich i have used in the past. It is not only thicker bu…

This is a very fun little build for one of the guys who was there at the very start of SSA. Back in 2001 Travis was my roommate, and helped me build lots and lots of customer rides. In 2007 he bought 4 of our very first ICONs, they've sat ever since he bought them in the sealed boxes. We the other day we cracked a few of them open, and decided to put them in his 2002 Ford F150. We fired it up today for the first time, and below is the results on just 1500wRMS.

Whats up guys, This is the 2nd box I have ever built, so bare with me if it's not the best in the world, but I am trying to do everything based on everyone's input so far. It is for a 99 Nissan Maxima, for 2 15" Type R's tuned at 38Hz. My last box was tuned at 32Hz, so I am just trying a little different sound, and if I don't like it, i'm sellin it all and gonna toy around with something new. I have Goldbond 3, Silicon 2, predrilling all my screw holes like a good boy... using 90Deg. Clamps and straight clamps Here's the pics: Just started today May 8th.... still workin on it...just letting stuff dry, then im gonna get back at it. my only question right now is how…

Greetings and salutations beings of the internet. I come bearing random thoughts ramblings and a build log. This will be version 3 of my 2004 suburban. The setup: Sony XAV-701HD Stevens Audio Full Size Horns Beyma 8BR40 8" Mids Arc PS8 Bazooka MGA series Amps Stereo Integrity DS4 18 sealed 6cuft This is also the simplest iteration. I employed the KISADUWDATTDT method: Keep It Simple And Don't Upgrade When Done And Tune The Damn Thing. Just a little FYI the horn install happened a few years ago. This a compilation of a build that spanned a few years. Up first are the horns. You've seen one you've seen them all but just in case here is a pic.…

Decided to do a stupidly cheap wall build in my festiva for shits and giggles. - 8-10 PW1074US super blues - audiopipe AP30001D - some cheap batteries - some cheap ass mids and tweeters. This build log thread will just be here to show it can be done. The build will start within the next few weeks if not months when I get off my lazy ass. Until then, tune in for the next build log which will be for another member on here, shakes.

Hu guys, This is my third box for my sub. It's the loudest one! Now, I feel That I have a really powerful system !!! The design is coming from Bromo. I bought the2 4" ports at Madisound : it was a pleasure to deal with them. Fast (very fast) answers, they shipped my order the next day, and they gave me the choice for the shipper. Loved it ! first box was a L ported box : 3.5 ft3 at 32 hz with sub and port up. It was taking ALL my cargo space and was not really powerful. I can't understand why; it was sooo loud in another smaller car with the same sub. second box was 3 ft3 sealed, firing up or back : I lke it, seems louder than the first one ! More cargo space left, This…
