Having Alpines since my first system, I wanted to try something new. I went with Hybrid Audio Technologies Clarus line opting with the 6 1/2" over the 5 1/4" after reading the review Car Audio Mag gave the 5 1/4". These drivers were a lot deeper then the type-r's I replaced them with. Here's the comparison in size. After adding another layer of deadener on top of my pre-existing Damplifier Pro I was ready to go. The install required the mid hole in the door to be cut a little larger to satisfy these beasts. I figured I may as well post up my daily over here. It's a 1996 Cadillac Seville STS that I just acquired. So far a have a lil temporary setup installed. The type X 10" will be getting reconed shortly, or I may just throw two SA-12's in the car. I have already been rear ended in the short time of owning the vehicle, and have replaced all the parts. I'm also considering changing the color of the car, but it has to compliment the interior color. More than likely I will just add some pearls and candies to the original color. Whats up guys, This is the 2nd box I have ever built, so bare with me if it's not the best in the world, but I am trying to do everything based on everyone's input so far. It is for a 99 Nissan Maxima, for 2 15" Type R's tuned at 38Hz. My last box was tuned at 32Hz, so I am just trying a little different sound, and if I don't like it, i'm sellin it all and gonna toy around with something new. Ok here I go again with another truck box build. This box will be house a single 12" driver either my SI Claw Mag 12" or my Sonic FX Q 12" depending on which performs better. Specs are as follow, 2.54@30Hz 20"^2 of port Really hoping to get some gut pounding lows out of this box. My current box hits them decent but I want better more defined lows. Hey guys this is my first attempt at an active sound system in my 2007 GMC Sierra classic body. My goals are to achieve good all around sound with a little bump at all volumes, nothing too crazy im not going to be competing. My budget was ~$1000 and plan to keep as much of the install stock looking since theft is high here in Tucson. Well, after all the trouble to get this setup finished. I finally have gotten some thing put together and some in progress. My FG box is being put together by Bart Etter(owner of BetterAudio if you remember them), whom I'd like to thank for his hard work. Well here's some progression pics of the box build. He does a good job My speakers. THe Mpyres are installed in the doors currently. That's MpyreAudio, Adire Koda, and RE XXX in that order shown. Right now it has 1.3liter 55kw carbed engine, but i have already bought new engine D16Z6 that comes with 92kw. Should be enough with this body. My little brother is putting a system together for this years competition season. He will be competing in USACI's street beat. Its a 2003 (I believe) Hyundai Accent. He is using a real basic pioneer deck for now with an update in the future. Two runs of 0 gauge running back to a single US-AMPS 6000 pushing a single Hyfonics Goliath 15. Been off the forums and out of the car audio word for a while now. Decided I want some more bass in my 2014 escape titanium. It has the factory Sony 10 speaker system but I need more. This is a never ending work log that I should of thrown together months ago, but am too lazy to do. I call it work in progress because I feel as if it can never be finished. Most of it is done with, but there is always something I can do to better my install. This is my second install in my Ford Explorer, the first being a single 12" RE SX ported to 32Hz in a 3 cu. ft. box. It was powered by a RE 12.1 amp. Im putting a system in my 2003 QC dodge pickup. Im putting in a 10" XCON and a Black Ice 1300.1 Amp which measures in at 16x8.25x2. I plan to raise the back seat a little over an inch with steel square tubing i have. I have 3/4" MDF, lifetime supply of 2oz cloth, liquid nail wood glue, and all of the odds and ends i need to build the setup, but im stuck on how i should shape the box/place the amp.
