  4. Well it's time for a rebuild. I am shooting to win MECA Street 5 finals this year. I set a state record so far this year with my two death penalty 21's. 148.6 at the headrest. Thats pretty good I think, and I am very happy with it being my first year competing. I have also picked up xs power as a sponsor, and am a member of Team DBs! Now to win the finals I am going to need to get louder. In the mid 150 range. So I sold the 21's and am getting 4 2010 model Death Penalty 18's, an will be running them off of my new 40.1!! And here is the start of the rebuild. Starting with the box.

Car is a '94 Buick Roadmaster. Purchased it about 2 years ago. Spent the 1st summer deadening the car, and last summer I just didn't have much time to get things done. Goal is to have a stereo finally installed in it this year! Have a little road trip coming up on June 22nd, and I would really like to at least have it playing music before then. Between work, the gym and my kids' evening activities I don't have much free time so that is quite a challenge. Not starting from scratch here. But hoping a little log will keep me on track and responsible for getting shit done. To get things up to speed...the car is deadened front to rear with SDS sound deadening. I bel…

  9. Alright so many of you may know I've gone through several systems in the past few years that have ranged from third row boxes, third row walls, all the way to a b pillar wall. Every single one of these systems were only able to reach 150db and not more beyond that. I've decided to step it up a notch this time and stop doing 2 subwoofer setups in such a large vehicle. With that being said, here are some details. 11. for those of you that didnt see in the other thread, i took the first one out. i really wasn't happy with it once i thought about it. this one, already with the false floor, is coming out alot better. the floor is 2 layers thick. the first layer is bolted with 1/2" x 2.5" bolts in the rear, and up front its tite bonded, and screwed to those 2x4's u see under there. the 2x4's themselves are also bolted to the body with the same bolts. none-the-less, its very sturdy, and not gonna budge. the 2nd layer is self explanatory, its to make is 100% level (to cover the bolt heads used to bolt the first layer down) and to clarify, the cuts i made on the rear cross-member, to get tho…

So this is what i've been up to for the past week, 2 gallons of spectrum firewall on the inside of the fiero, i figure i'll buy another gallon and a roll of raammat just for the roof/doors. The quarter windows were broken so i made some of those too, the driver's side is still hardening and i haven't even trimmed out the other yet, but they look god so far. considering replacements are $200+ i'd rather try using my leftover fiberglass first.

We were given a project in my business management class -- make a business. I decided on doing a car audio shop. I got all the work on the business done early, so I figured I'd go above-and-beyond and build a movable car audio display to show off a bit Here's the build log: I went to Lowes and got two sheets of 3/4" MDF, and had them cut it to spec. (The pictures are quite big if you click 'em... 56K'ers be warned!) The bottom being screwed on: The screws are in!: Counter-sunk ftw: I'll be filling those screw holes with some sort of putty so I can later paint the whole cabinet. The top's on!: The one problem about working with yourself and not having corner clamps…

Well guys I been on this forum for a lil while and its overdue that I make a build log. I dont have much $ flow to work with so, I have to sacrifice some things to get what I have. This enclosure was originally for a 15" Fi BL, it was 3.5 ft sq, tuned to 34hz. I redid it for a 15" FI BTL. Pretty much took the face off and had help from a friend guide me through it. This was a quick fix for my enclosure and it still holding on. I dont hve much pics of the build log, but I will post what I have. I redid the enclosure to 4 ft sq tuned to 34Hz. I used PVC for aeros and flared them, but not so good job.
